  • the pitches were very dead on in the beginning. good way to open a piece :)

  • cool... i know how o play this in bk 3 iim 11

  • I need the score of this picece, can you share me a link?

  • So musical, and beautiful, but maybe a little fast?!

  • ooh I know how to play this on piano...but not so well :P

  • wow u suck

  • @SubZX lets see u do it better then!

  • hmmm...i'm about to do this peice for my recidal, im 12, but its pretty easy, i can't find a recording of any profensional playing it here on youtube so it really frustrates me. As I said this peice is easy, its just perfecting it thats really hard. I also get stuck at that part in gavotte two because i can make the doublstops sound clear enough.

  • nice!!

  • nice! way to go!!! XD

  • Can anyone tell me what the notes would be letter wise from beginning to 20 seconds in?

Because I have yet to been taught how to read sheet music and not being able to play this song is driving be insane.

  • first get a metronome then set the speed around 70, then as you get better, set the speed around 90~~an so on------

  • its allegro MODERATO

  • dude, this kids pretty good. hope you still play you have potential. I mean well, im 15 but ive played 9 years so ive played this piece its pretty easy but you sound good

  • I have been playing this for several months now, yes, the same song, for several months. Its not as simple as it looks

  • i'm doing this for my solo recital :)

  • Well, i hope u post it up, ill like to see it.

  • haha i'll try. i think.

  • I think the most challenging here is to stay in timing on your own and also playing those chords, notice how he's essentially playing the viola and violin part at the SAME time. I mean, my God, he sounded like a mini orchestra!

  • i've been playing the violin for about three years and i skipped a level!

  • Agree!

  • It's Gavotte by J.S. Bach. It is in the key of D major and the last note of the piece is a D which indicates that the piece is in D major rather than b minor. What piece you thinking of?

  • I'm pretty sure what I'm thinking of is in Suzuki book 3.

  • This Gavotte is from Suzuki book 5. I think they may be different parts of the same piece because they have repeats in the same places and other similarities. This is probably the equivalent of a first violin part because it is more difficult.

  • hehe....that makes more sence... I'm only on the fourth book so I wouldn't know. And I've been playing since I was 5! (7 1/2 years ago)

That's really bad... 4 books in 7 years...

  • im also in book three. they have both gavotte aranged by P. Martini, and another version aranged by bach. though gavotte in book 5 could be a different version by bach, or it is just aranged differently.

  • this is a diffrent gavotte

  • This is good. This is my solo. Amazing!!!

    2 thumbs up!!!

  • I'm trying to do a line from this song right now...gods I hope I can play that well someday.

  • I played this when I was 6.....

  • Excellent(Y) where do u get the music

  • The sheet music can be found in Suzuki book 5 for violin

  • I played this when i was 9 xD

  • I really liked the upbeat way you performed this and you had an individual approach which came across well.

  • I just learned this piece. Probably my favorite of book 5 besides the double violin concerto.

  • i can play this song too!! i like it! good job whoever you are! Nice Song!

  • very good man!

how many time do you study violin?

this is the 5th suzuki book, gavotte right?

  • Nice playing.. What piece is it? :P

  • I know of the vid's title, "Gavotte in D Major (by) JS Bach," and according to audio clips I've heard and searched on the Net, that piece is part of one of Bach's cello suites (BWV 1012, to be precise, for you classical music buffs! lol).

  • Nice job, Matthew. Keep up the great work!

  • Congratulations, Matthew, on a fine performance! I am so proud of you!
