Will Wautlet could do consistent frontside one-wheelers on the extension in the big bowl. I have photos of him from this same day doing them off of a wooden bench we put on the top of the bowl, held in place by "Duke" Gracia.
Thanks for posting, Z-Man! People in the Vid - Archie Ward (red-eyed star), Phil Shraplouie? Tom Mack, Maggie Crye (hot chick), Richie, Dale, Will Wautlet, - will try to remember more
Wow! this IS my old 8mm film footage! I had forgotten about it. Whoever managed to transfer it to video, please contact me! I'm not sure if I even have the original film anymore - you might have the only copy. Really brings back great memories of all the "sessions" heh.
@KRIT777 It was my Dad's Minolta. I can't remember if it was an 8 or a super 8. I know he bought it in Japan ~ 1966. Talk about old school! Paul did the conversion by projecting the film and the videoing it. Back when he still worked for TV station.
You guys were supposed to be "working" in the confession stand, but you would just session and then eat the horrible microwave burritos. Phil Rivers would threaten to kill you. Remember the ant infestation? How about the crickets? Totally unsanitary. How about the stench from the knee-pad boxes? Forced to wear those ridiculous helmets? Bribing me to get in free? Brain Dunham racing out when "My Sharona" would come on the radio to do the same old frontside carves?
ahhh man those were the days!! funny as hell cuz we used to burn em down before sk8n the park,,wow theres the old rocket drive-in in the background,,man i wish i had taken pic's of me and my bro's back then! sweet video!

Earth Surf was located in Northeast El Paso at the northern most end of Dyer Street (just past McCombs, across the street from the old Goonie Golf.)
