  • freakish man.

  • We get thundersnow every year in Central Ontario. One of only 3 places on Earth that gets it yearly.

  • Our area in Virginia had thundersnow yesterday afternoon. My husband and I thought it was really weird, but had never heart the term "thundersnow" until our local weather forecast came on the news later. Apparently, most people hadn't, as many of my facebook friends were talking about it last night.

  • I expieranced thunder snow last year it was coool

  • I experienced thunder snow last winter (this one has been exceptionally mild and usually above freezing), but it was a very extreme winter....(We received more snow in three days than in the entirety of the previous winter here in Canada!)

  • I lol'ed at this for a minute. XD

  • Is this guy for real?

  • crazy this just happened, never even heard of it!

  • funny :D

  • 4"/Hr....I wish we had snow like that here in the UK..

  • how the hell is that possible!!?!? snow and thunder!? it must be very rare...never happened here in Europe before!

  • @12081985 That definitely just happened at my house in Pennsylvania. Creepy! Apparently it means a big storm is coming!

  • I think Jim shat himself

  • it should be like this here...

  • thunder snow

  • Jim Cantore has an approach to his job that reminds me of a kids fascination with sharks or dinosaurs. Keep it up Jim! we all watch the weather channel because of you!

  • the guy was like ............. OH. lightning? THUNDERSNOW is it rare or happens all the time

  • happens all the time in snowbelt in ohio....

  • :10 "That's what you get for fucking not calling it!"

  • Yeah put the mic higher, that'll help.

  • lmao...this is a weather man? Wonder what he would do if he ever saw moon dogs (rings around the moon) This fellow excites easy...lol

  • @modocca Dude, thundersnow is badass! So, it is something to be excited about!

  • thundersnow

  • We just had a Thunder.. Snow!

  • only witnessed/heard thundersnow 3 times in my life (1988, 1996 and the last one being 2 days with the freak October snowstorm. -Jim's reactions are priceless, love his enthusiasm. Thundersnow is pure AWESOMENESS

  • fail

  • WORCESTER!!!!!!!!!!

  • A few min. ago he was deemed the Thundersnow King!!

  • I heard it today in NYC twice!

  • When i was 5, i was like:

Woah Mom! thunderstorm, did ya hear that?

  • We just had that right now in new york!! It was Really loud!!!

  • First snow of the winter in the North East October 29, 2011, and he did the same exact thing again. I saw it live on the weather channel, and thought whoa that guy looks alot like the guy from youtube who did the same thing, and turns out it is the same guy. All these years later, and he still has the same reaction.

    First was December 7, 1996

    Second was December 18, 1998

    Third was February 1, 2011

and now his Fourth October 29, 2011

    all on video.

  • @SwaggaLessD I meant Fall

  • What kind of weather man has to ask if that was lighting???

  • We have this right now, just seen another one

  • Probably an enhanced mid-level CAPE value of about 800-1000 j/kg (elevated convection) triggered that lightning strike from that snowstorm.

  • Spam all number keys for epic dance!

  • "We just had a thunder snow."

  • Me and my mom adore Jim Cantore!!!!! <3

  • actually that is the correct term for it

  • i remember watching this live when it happened i was in 3rd grade we were off from school for a few days from that storm in new jersey and that whole winter was crazy we got alot of snow

  • SSoHPKC was right, it is a real thing

  • hahaha @ :09 "That's what you get for bustin my balls"

  • damn, i wish i wasnt a freakin baby back in 1996.

  • I've seen him do this little surprise stunt multiple times during severe snow storms. It's all an act to keep viewers in tuned!!! LOL!

  • we just had a thunder..snow

    ahahahah! :)

  • I remember this well, I was born in Worcester. We got punished this winter too (some of the highest accumulations I've ever seen, with lots of roof collapses in the area). There were no places left to dump the snow and it kept piling on (my back hurts just thinking about all the shoveling I did). Lots of two-lane roads were only wide enough for a single car.

  • Blizzard of 96 that was something.

  • I miss the old Weather Channel during that time. Now its more news talk & shows than weather itself.

  • we just had a thunder -[wait for it]- snow

  • He l.ooked shocxked, too see that phenomena was he drunk

  • thats what its like were i live :/, cant wait till summer

  • It's awesome because thunder SNOW is a very rare thing. I've never seen/heard lightning and thunder in a snowstorm in my life

  • haha his reaction was so childish

  • 4 inches LOL!

  • press 4 5 7 to hear Jim's Song

  • In December 2009 here in the UK I was clearing snow off my car when a bolt of lightning shot across the sky and the thunder was very loud. It scared me to death because it was so close so decided to sit in my car and watch it for a moment. I have seen this happen a few times during winter snow here in the UK.

  • why is this popular ? really not entertaining in the slightest

  • @420FourTwenty

Thunder snow is an extremely rare phenomenon

  • I am amazed the weatherman doesn't know you can get "thundersnow". Granted it is not as common as the summer thunderstorm but damn, why so surprised?

  • @prcacowboy82401 Well, it's rare, isn't it? I would have been more surprised if he said, "Eh, thundersnow, whatever." Just because you know a rare phenomenon exists doesn't mean you're not going to be surprised to actually experience it. I see his reaction as more on the lines of, "Wow, can't believe this actually happening while we're filming."

  • This is hysterical. His reaction is priceless! Heard my first thundersnow this year....

  • I totally remember that!

  • fake

  • I dont get the 9 and 8 thing

  • Just think of what double rainbow guy's reaction if he saw this!

  • WE DIDN'T LISTENNN!!!!!!!!!

  • 44444444444444444444444444444444444444444444444

    WTF? Mine's not working.

  • @jemreyes2-He's what I call a "real weatherman". My fav is from several years ago when he was almost blown off a dock into raging water and didn't get excited. But this one is the funniest!!!

  • wow he wasn't scared of the thunder and the one chicgo yes

  • Your doing it wrong, how is anyone supposed to autotune this and make a song about it. boooooo

  • This weather can be crazy -- check out the wind from the recent Chicago storm --

  • press 4 repeatedly :p

  • LOL he did this again recently

  • why do women like this guy so much????? its like their stay at home husband they can depend on to never leave them or somin lololol

  • love the facial expression and search for more @0:03

  • Thunder Snow is made by a rush of Cold air and Cool air colliding. It's rare, yes, but possible.

  • Livvn shut the fuck up

  • WOAH. it's full on thunder snow all the way! oh my god. what does this mean?! it's so intense!

  • WOAH! Was that lightning?

  • had one in philly it wasnt that amazing lol

  • The screaming of "Jesus" in this video is disrespectful to the Christian faith. What if Mr. Cantore had screamed Muhammad, or Buddah? Why is it that Christ's followers must be tolerant toward this bigotry?

  • @Livvn god dam it, will you stop complaining.

  • @Livvn

    lmao, stfu, who cares?

  • @Livvn Jesus

  • @Livvn I have extremely good hearing and extremely good headphones on and I heard nothing of the sort.

  • lmaooooooooooo his reaction

  • Press 1 repeatedly for crazy owl movements hahaha

  • we just had thunder... snow...

  • Looks like FUN!!

  • There were thundersnows in north Alabama last night. Too bad I live in central AL, where there was more ice. I was just a tiny bit too far south.

  • I love his reaction

  • This is exacly what happened last night. COOOOLLLL!!

  • I live near New York City and a few weeks ago I heard thunder snow in the blizzard that just hit the Northeast USA during the last week of December. It had a very odd, dampened sound. I ended up getting 25.5 inches from that storm, next town over to me got 30 inches ... drifts passing first and even second story windows on some buildings. I'm a fan of the snow and that was one of the most intense blizzards I've ever seen. I probably wont see anything like it again for years to come

  • His reaction was too cute!

  • no its thunder stupid lol

  • His expression is the best EVER!!! Never thought I would ever hear a weatherman ask if that was lightning! Priceless.

  • Please somebody loop the first 8 seconds... it cracks me up watching his hat flip around!

  • This was from December of 1996, according to the date. Earlier that year, there was an even bigger blizzard.

  • There were thundersnows in my area too last night. Lol. Very rare.

  • @Rbdgirl2 THE WORLD IS COMING TO AN END!!! So says Lewis Black when he first saw thundersnow.. lol

  • this just happened to me. i was like 'okay what the fuck is going on here'

  • wow! I remember watching this live when it happened back in 97 or 98 when I was about 11 years old, if I remember correctly, us in NYC missed out, we got rain that storm ... hahaha classic jim cantore!!

  • @MANBATCOW dum ass it was from last year, that wasnt even there logo yet, they had a differnet style

  • @The2Coolest2 Actually, you and I were both wrong... look at the date stamp on the bottom left side of the screen, it was December 7, 1996 . They obviously put the new logo on the original footage...

  • @MANBATCOW sorry for calling you dumb ass im one

  • @The2Coolest2 no worries m8!

  • we just had thunder snow in Port Talbot, South Wales U.K :-)

  • best reaction (:

  • I remember back about 6-7 years ago in UK was cycling back in heavy snow that had started to fall when the whole sky lit up and then a huge crack of thunder followed, nearly made me come off my bike. I thought to myself well it is the UK, a country that can get the four seasons in one day lol

  • 13 inches on the ground an 4 inches per hour, that's pretty insane. last year we had like 8 inches in total and I found that much! Now I know better!

  • @rs9219 Worcester is on the "snow line" as they call it here. They can get dumped on with snow and Boston can get nothing or not much and I think are 45 miles apart.

I used to live in Worcester and the streets are so hilly and some so steep it makes winter driving a nightmare!

  • @ciao614 im pretty sure we'll get a classic example of this on sunday if the storm comes close enough

  • north east england at the minute... seen about 6 in the past half hour.

  • Heard it in wallsend last night and again this evening

  • We got this here lastnight at 1am and this morning at 7am.. in Newcastle, England.. crazy but very cool :D

  • i had it here in dundee scotland at 3 am woke me up omg it was loud

  • This is happening in Ireland rite now !!!

  • it just happened in montreal ,,, honestly, this is the first time in my life i know that ligtning and thunder can come with snow

  • **standing there**

    WHOA?!?! WAS THAT LIGHTNING???!

    XD

  • LOL I was watching when that happened! His face was priceless!

  • Ive seen thundersnow in Beaumont,TX back in 12/11/08.

  • Thunder-snow is cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I've witnessed the rare thundersnow a couple of times in my lifetime. It is usually accompanied by very very heavy snow as seen in this video.

    WHOA!!!!!!

    We just had a thunder.......snow....

  • oh ! didnt know lightning could strike while snowing!

  • We just had a thunder....snow

  • Ever seen thunder and lightning with freezing rain? I remember one time in Pennsylvania in January in some year I forgot. 2 inches of ice with lightning is insanity.

  • I remember this storm well. I was 18 and we had about 4-5 bolts of lightning. However at the point this video was made, it was sleeting and not snowing with the lightning in our area.

  • I remember this!!! My dad and I stayed up to watch the cool storm!!

  • snow is great ......because when theres snow, theres christmas, lights, and awww man the great snow

  • I am afraid of rain-based thunderstorms...but when you get snow punctuated by lightning and thunder....this is even worse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am facing the new weather reality that sometimes comes with snowstorms...thunder-snowstorms, or thundersnow for short.

  • this has happened twice in my hometown of sanborn, ny...once on the evening of march 13, 1993, and again on october 11, 2006...

  • this guy is the best weather guy ever

  • nice! i love the snow SOOOOOO much.
