I think this screams of selfishness. She's spending a ton of money on food, but think of the other things she could spend it on -- perhaps she could spend it on her children, or save up for their education, or just save it in general... not only is she spending all of this money on excess food to fulfill her personal goal, but the goal she's aiming for is one that will likely kill her, which means her kid(s) will lose a mother. It's just selfish.
