In short She has a successful career do to Missy Elliot changing the status quo so now her talent can be freely appreciated. But you have to buy the album or artist like her wont be viable & wont exist.

i think this song was recorded before jazmine signed with j records. anyways, jazmine vocals are similar to Gospel artist Kim Burrell. I think people who are not familiar with Gospel artists compare jazmine to lauryn hill. After listening to jazmine's album, I have to disagree with the jazmine/lauryn comparisons.

you are very right... I do see why people are apt to compare her to Lauryn, but really, Kim Burrell's style is much stronger here.
