  • where can I find lyrics for this?

  • sameee!

  • This song is true for some people

  • I love her album. Why isn't this song on there.

  • why doesn't she get the recognition she deserves man ..what a beautiful woman and voice

  • Because usually the format is to take a media controlled talent meaning what the media says is beautiful, what the media says is music and what the media says you should worship and/or admire. Typically talented soulful or rhythm and blues artist don't fall into the ideology the media is pushing. In short She has a successful career do to Missy Elliot changing the status quo so now her talent can be freely appreciated. But you have to buy the album or artist like her wont be viable & wont exist.

  • @ramose801 What are you talkinqq about ?!

  • @ramose

  • She may not be recieving the reconition she deserves now but shes opening passage ways for more unique and talented artist like her to change what the media may think is real music.

  • this is sooo different to the new pop trash thats out at the moment.

    love this

    jazmine is extremely talented

  • Love this song!! she's very talented.

  • this is a hot song love the beat very much

  • She's Beautiful

  • i luv it . Jaz Do Yo Thang Girl . i LUV U . your so you ....

  • nope. dont like it.

  • Jazmine man This is crazy love The song..

  • not sure if it was already mentioned here or on another site but is that the AOL IM sound in the background? If so, I cant beleive i never noticed it before!

  • LOL, I noticed that right away, I don't think it's the exact sample, just recreated beacuse it sounds slightly different.

  • yeah it does sound a little different, when i first heard the song over a yr ago it sounded like a doorbell or xylophone or somethin. lol

  • LOOL

  • I Really Like Her ! And All Of Her Songs..

  • lol, the beat is funny, i love jasmine sullivan though.

  • this sng is sooooooooooo smexi

  • i just bought the album, and why the hell isn't this on it?!!!

  • She put this song out years before the album.lol...I think the only song she has out that is old but on Fearless is "I'm In Love With Another Man"...but I could b wrong.

  • Lions Tigers and Bears was out for a minute too

  • i think this song was recorded before jazmine signed with j records. anyways, jazmine vocals are similar to Gospel artist Kim Burrell. I think people who are not familiar with Gospel artists compare jazmine to lauryn hill. After listening to jazmine's album, I have to disagree with the jazmine/lauryn comparisons.

  • you are very right... I do see why people are apt to compare her to Lauryn, but really, Kim Burrell's style is much stronger here. Ms. Burrell has influenced many, many young secular artists that are out today (even Jessica Simpson mentions her as an influence..although I don't know in what way), but Jazmine comes the closest in style in my opinion.

  • For real, why is this song not on the album?

  • i had to go and run and buy the album when i heard this song!! bit late i know but better late than never x

  • bye sexy

    heybby aQ

  • I only heard it 1 time & I likes it!!

  • pritty voice, pritty song, n pritty voice..=}

  • it s jasmine i recorded it........

  • i was salty when i found out this wasnt on her album..

  • haha i just checked itunes and felt the same way

  • I'm lovin the song!! Thank you for the post.

  • on her myspace page it tells you that the Jamaican chant in the song is done by pepa, from salt n pepa

  • lmfao Ppl jazmine sullivan is from philly..ya'll funny

  • Comment removed

  • its becuz west indian ppl speak patios.its not a language but its like a slang type of way of speaking.they can switch it on or off (some atleast).my background is trinidadian and jamaican by da way.I heard dat wen dere in skool dere not allowed to speak in patois dey have to speak proper.

  • well it recent developments trinidad english is a language and so is jamaican english. and in trini we are allowd to speak trini but u have to no wen. u wudnt expect to tlk to d principal sayin 'wamnin or was d scene?' but u can say stuff like 'well i relly doh no na' previously it was discouraged but since we are a developin nation we try to embrace our culture and leave less of the mother land out

  • Patwa (as it is spelt in the official Jamaican writing system) is taught in some schools now because most of us now embrace what is ours. Slang is different...do your research. we have teachers, even at the university level who deliver lectures in Patwa. most schools that don't 'allow' Patwa are 'traditional' ones that still adhere to old european ettiquette, many instituations (traditional, ones included) that are aware of the ignorance that such a practise displays have moved away fr this.

  • no, she is trinidadian.

  • FOR THE RECORD..we do have a language. that language includes grammatical rules just like English and other languages do...Jamaican Creole is called Patwa...we have a vocab, linguistical rules and features and a writing system. Britsih English is a slave legacy. we have a language that adheres to most of the West African language rules that African slaves brought here while incorporating vocab fr Africa (some words remain in their West African form) and England.

  • right which it a mixuture of languages..... we speak patwa in haitie and in dominican republica.

  • Research your history before writing. Most of the people that life in the caribeans and other places in south america are of African descent. It is obvious that shaggy and sean paul are of african descent. Use common since.

  • i dont know what the argument is here but i just wanted to say jazmine sullivan isnt jamaican. she's from philly. i know her brother.

  • so if she isnt jamaican...y is she talkin the language and why do they have bob marley, the word jamaica, etc in the video?

  • hey she might be of jamaican decent, her family might be from jamaica. but i'm pretty sure SHE was born or at least raised in philly.

  • I don't think she is cause there is a video of her on youtube talking about her taking a chance at making the song. She said she had listened to little reggae before making it and knew little about the culture but decided to step outside the box. And anything that has a reggae twing to it is going to have Bob Marley, the flag or whatever to set the vibe.

  • Ok for all of you who don't know, the vast majority of Jamaicans are black. Shaggy is black and so is Yellowman. Sean Paul is multiracial (black, Chinese, and Portugues. Jamaica is just like a lot of countries where there are people of all races (and a mixture of those races). Before you guys post info, make sure it's correct. Peace.

  • Lol stupid to think all jamaican are black, Sean Paul and shaggy just to name a few are not black. If u wanna go to the extreme look at yellow man he is as white as they come.

  • Exactly. My mother is Indian Jamaican and I have plenty of Chinese Jamaican cousins.

  • shaggy is black, well hes mixed.Yellow man is black!lol hes just albino. But u are right not all Jamaicans are black.

  • all of the persons u mentioned are black. yellow man is albino. very brief history...slave societies had colour gradations. lighter skinned slaves had more priviledges and were house slave scuz they were closer to slave owners' skin tone. the darker u were, the more siuted u were to feild labour. that colour gradation still exists. over 90% of the pop is black. conquest brought the europeans, the African slave trade brough the blacks and indentureship introduced indians, chinese and lebanese.

  • What is up with all the retouching on this picture? I just watched her video and she does not look like this picture!

  • they lighten her skin a few shades ..slimmed her nose in this pic. shame

  • Yeah man, that photoshop stuff is really deceiving

  • =O thats wrong i hope she didnt agree with dat she should love the way she looks she's so pretty anyway =l nh

  • ad to all who says jamaicans are black, theres a few white jamaicanso here who ca give u guys a lesson is beig ignorant. you cant believe everythig u see on the t.v. so i heard its pepa doig the accent but there are some jamaicans who look like jazmine.u guys should throughly explore the island before stereotyping.

  • Seriously..No matter where you come from there are people of all skin colors just like in the U.S. People watch too much television. lol They think in one spot that all the people are just this one color.

  • the way they always cover her right eye reminds me of Aaliyah..but yea i love dis song!

  • SHE REMiND ME OF MEGAN GOOD ON THiS PiC.

  • i see that.

  • she is bueatiful with and excellent voice i think she will do great.

  • she can sing just like.... well i cant think of her

  • this is jazmine she has a versatile voice ...thats wat makes her so dope

  • True to the description this song has definitely grown on me. Anyone know if Anthony Bell produced this track?

  • she jamaican?

  • NO SHE BLACK

  • LOL Jamaican's tend to be black, but nah, she's not Jamaican. "Need U Bad' just had the reggae feel and Pepa (from Salt N Pepa) is said to be the speaking voice on the beginning of that song

  • jamaicans aren't all black. we are a meltig pot. sean paul is a good example.

  • @ misstickmoon

I never said "all" Jamaicans are. I specifically said Jamaicans *tend to be* black because, while Jamaica is a "melting pot" with the influences of the Europeans, Chinese, Indians, etc, there's no denying that the African/black influence is the predominant one.

  • jamaican is black, you mean she is american

  • um, I thought Jamaicans were Black. But ur right, she's not Jamaican, Shes from Philly. Thats Pepa on the track with her. Pepa is Jamaican.

  • Lol...

  • nope. ot all jamaican are black. jamaica is a mltiracial country. an why can't she be jamaican? she has a accurate accet and looks it.

  • how bout if you dont like it then you just dont listen to it....

i hate people who compare upcoming singers to other artists that are already in the industry!ughh

  • this song is dope. is this an old song of hers or its on the Fearless album?

  • I think Jasmine and Lauryn are allowed to exist at the same time...lol people like we have to have one or the other. After all, they are different singers

It would do the music game gooood to have both of them!

  • ur right but i miss Lauryn. i am allowed to miss lauryn and like jazmine at the same time. but ur right we need more artists like these.

  • Yeah, hopefully Lauryn will come back out and they can do a duet! :-)

  • she sounds sso smooth i love this song! :)

  • Her voice is so clear and soulful. I can't get enough.

  • jaz is not neo soul her music is very versatile....just listen to her sample music

  • o ok thnks ibm0615. c was just n the nati. i saw er an she is gorgeous tho

  • jasmine is a hot new artist & people tend to compare her now with Laureen Hill, but no one can compare to Laureen Hill (LH). LH also had a strong voice but she also rapped and she was soo deep with what she sang. LH had a message to young woman, how 2 be strong, she even spoke about GOD. Now I am not knocking Jasmine, but they are totally 2 different artist and only I real hip hop/ neo soul fan/artist can see that.

  • Yeah she really sounds like a Kim Burrell clone sometimes though... which is still freaking amazing. I mean Kim Burrell might be the greatest singer ever and that girl is only 21

  • i know this because my sister who iis so dope can sing like lauren, brandy, beyonce etc

  • anybody who is a true singer will tell u that the notes she is hitting take extreme control to hit ive personally never heard lauren hit half these notes like she.. did not sayin she cant...but i will say that jaz is the most versatile sounding artist maybe since r kelly (who btw can sing tenor like an opera singer) the reason she sounds like lauren in i need u bad is because she can sing many different ways....this is gift few singers can acheive to her extent.

  • I agree too...but her name is Lauryn lol...I just hope that Jazmine dont become mainstream becuz once she do...she is no longer a neo soul artist...Correct me if Im wrong...who gets more respect Common or Lil Wayne...but as long she dont go beyonce on me Im always going to dig her music....

  • whats wrong with beyonce music..... matter of fact beyonce and mary mary are my favorite singers.

  • There is nothing wrong with Beyoncè...its that she belongs in a different category from certain artist. You would not see Jill Scott and Beyoncè on the same venue. More than likely it would be Jill Scott and Erykah Badu. Her style is pop/r&b. While Jazmine maybe labeled "neo-soul." Its kind of to early to tell. If she gets reaaaaaaaaaal popular then she would be pop/r&b.

  • yeah you right

  • thats true cereal, funny thing is i saw jill scott with a perm wig on a Hennessey billboard the other day(no sarcasm). i was surprised.

  • Dog are you serious? Jill doing it like that?.......Money is a powerful thing **shakes head** she could have at least did a Crown Royal ad lol

  • lmao, ur so right. i almost crashed the whip when i saw that.

  • yes it does...... im still trying to get there!!!

  • I LOVE YOU JAZ

  • akeldama725 Where have you been cuz Lauryn Hill is still around.

  • i agree love lauren but jaz is the truth

  • Shes gorgeous but almst all her pics r profiles. Wats wit tht chica???????????

  • @ cp3onmtv963 - LOL it's probably because people are using the same pictures over again but Jaz is a beautiful curvy sista (re: not Rihanna/Ciara body-type)..she used to have more personal pictures on her myspace page before she took them down probably in an effort to keep her page more professional now that her solo career is about to take off

  • man she beta live up to these "lauryn hill" comparisons cuz nobody deserves to b compared to her unless dey really got it, an she does.

  • She got a new original feelin to her music! Sweet!

  • Voice is amazing. Different. Has that Lauryn Hill feel to it.

  • is dis song off da new album or is it one of her prior but her voice is definitely her owns much respect to this young woman she is also next super woman of soul

  • it is a prior recoirding..yea she is a beast u gotta love jazzy
