  • really good song

  • Woooow love it! Amazing =)

  • fuck the darkness , stone gods were much better !

  • the darkness have reformed :)

  • better than the album version

  • Are they using Clarion Microphones on the acoustics????

  • Put this song out 35 years ago and it's a classic.

  • Why is this so freaking awesome?!

  • i remember hearing this a while ago, and it just hit me. i love the "bare bones" acoustics, the harmony, the beat, the lyrics... i dunno how to describe it!

but it makes me happy. not a great comment i know, but it's how i feel :D

  • It took me maybe about a year or so to finally appreciate Stone Gods.

    .

This song's a beauty with great guitars, lyrics, and vocals.

    .

However, I still think this could have been majorly improved with some proper Justin Hawkins/Matt Bellamy esque falsetto around 3:18 as well as 3:49-3:52. You can tell Richie fizzles around 3:51 and settles for a rather pedestrian "woo".

    .

I think it's also cool to note that the riff at 4:04 to 4:07 resembles one of the final riffs from 'Love is Only a Feeling'

  • @Joe22c the whole of the solo sounds so darkness asif the cut and pasted (excuse te term) parts of some of the darkness solos and put em togeter.......still sounds kl and there an awsome band

  • @xmertic I hope you realise that Dan Hawkins was cut and pasted directly from the Darkness. And therefore the man cannot just change, his songwriting remains the same, and so in essence it is obvious that elements (particularly guitar-wise) were 'cut and pasted' from the Darkness.

  • i love these guys.... superb x

  • I saw one comment that said these guys sound like Metallica. How? They sound almost like a cross between Led Zep, The Doobie Bros and ACDC here and they're far more 70s Hard Rock than thrash.....thank goodness. It's definitely good music.

  • i lived on this street in Norwich fo 9 years. Cool!

  • Wow! what a f'in amazing song!!

  • I hate when people try to compare Stone Gods and The Darkness. Both are fantastic, but in entirely different ways.

  • SUPER UNDER rated band that does NOT get the credit they deserve!!

  • If the Darkness had never existed, this would be amazing stuff, but when I see Dan in such magnificent form it just makes me wish he was back in the studio with Justin.

  • I fucking love this song..

  • Beautiful. I loved this song on Silver Spoons but this is fucking awesome.

  • how beautiful<3

  • Damn, Dan Hawkins is amazing in this video ffs <3

  • That is why they made him lead not richie coz dan is better at doing solos so thats why they made him lead

  • i never knew that the darkness split into other groups. i just thought they disappeared. this is great.totally different to their previous stuff whereas justin hawkin went off to form.....well...the darkness really. hotleg is the same!!!

  • hotleg is ok, theyre just a bit average compared to darkness in my opinion

  • i miss dan and justin together....

  • Thoes are cool guitars.

  • Hot leg, stone gods, blah blah blah. Just loving all the great music out there. Keep it up lads.

  • Quit coming onto stone gods videos then... you know you will start an argument its flipping childish they are both 2 awesome bands! why go onto opposite videos and say this or that band is better grow up!

  • Oh and also in saying that, I think Dan is an awesome acoustic guitarist

  • I think Stone Gods have a better songwriting ability and a totally different style of soloing from Hot Leg, and they do better live. I love both, but I like Stone Gods more.

  • yeah Stone Gods are more my kinda music anyway but i like hot leg too :)

    xxx

  • same

Hot Leg rae good but Stone Gods are just better all round. Performance, Chemestry, Comunication. Just the whole lot

  • No, they're not..

  • BRING BACK THE DARKNESS

this band does rule tho. Bought the album and Hotleg's Album

    BRING BACK THE DARKNESS STILL!!

  • E' davvero bellissima questa canzone ^^ anche il video è carino!

Grazie Baaab per avermela fatta conoscere =)

    [ sempre viva Dan ]

Stone Gods need to come to the States and kick the shitty music off the airwaves

  • como se parecen dan y justin hawkins!!

al principio he confundido a dan con justin, que pasada!

  • this band is great this song reminds me of another great band SUPERGRASS the Stone Gods need to kick the States in the ass and wake them up to good music

  • I love it

  • Who is the support band this time?? What time do the Stone Gods start and finish roughly at the gig?

  • Wahay I am going tomorrow night to Manchester. How many people do they usually have in the crowd? Do you get a good view?

  • yeah there was only about 500 at newcastle last night i went they 2nd support bands drummer looked like he was super high lol

  • I miss her too

  • Rediculous.....I like Hot Leg too

  • Comment removed

  • Best to worst:

Stone Gods, The Darkness, Hot Leg.

  • Stone Gods are at least thousand times better than The Darkness and Hot Leg !!!

  • Hell yeah! :P

  • Saw these guys supporting Airbourne, going again in a couple of months' time when they're headlining at the same venue!

It's funny, my sister's called Sarah...

  • this is my favorite song of 2008, Stone Gods is FUCKIN' AMAZIN'!!

  • Anyone heard Toby's side project Reunion Square?? They're fucking Amazing!! I LOVE SG TOO MUCH.

  • i seen them when they were supporting Airbourne and Black Stone Cherry, fucking amazing likes :D x

  • Brilliant song. And their album is amazing.

  • The Stone Gods ROCK!!!!

  • Omg saw them with sevendust and bsc was amazing:) wish i could go again(Y)

  • hey! wat were sevendust like??? i love SG and BSC and im seein them this sunday, really lookin forward to it, but never heard of sevendust b4, and who played first out of sevendust and SG, BSC being headline of course

  • sadly i didnt get to see sevendust my dad got us lost on the way n we got there an hour late n sevedundust had just gone off the stage was well pissed off it was sevendust stone gods what where fucking awsome live then black stone cherry came on they where amazing i got 2 guitat picks and a drum stick lol stood at the frount

  • Yeah I saw these supporting Airbourne and I thought they were excellent.

  • seen these live when they supported Airbourne and they fucking rocked!!

  • Hi me again!! Did anyone know that stone gods are guests with Black Stone Cherry in December??, i didn't know but i'm glad i got my ticket! Hey america's answer the the british greats is Black Stone Cherry!! They rule!

  • If your going to Birmingham's Carling academy on the 10th ill see you there ;)

  • Listen American kids!!!This is MUSIC!!!!I am a proud american BUT I am NOT proud of our HORRID music!!!It's sad that we can't get any American bands like Airbourne,The Darkness,Jet or the Stone Gods!If we have to rely on the Brits, and the Aussies then so be it!!At least they know what music is!

  • Thats sooooooo true man!!!! all the good new bands are NOT form America. now that I think about it, most of the classic bands I like are not American either lol I'm from America by the way

  • damn right ... good on ya.. ya since guns n' roses theres really been an aray of horrible pop bands like green day (who think there punk lol) ... i dont think America will ever have a band like the stone gods simple cos these guys are interested in rocking out.. whereas America bands are all interested in the dosh.. its a shame really. there needs to be more bands like these. people just dont have the balls theyd rather sing about shit that will get to number 1 rather than what they really want

  • amazing band, i cannot find the CD anywhere but im watching them today supporting airbourne so ill see if they have it there.

  • Dan's solo sounds better on the CD. I love these guys, they're so down to earth! And it's great they've done a few slow songs on the album, just to give your ears a rest(if you listen to it as loud as me!) Can't wait to see them at the Astoria in november!! I think I may have a bit of a hot flush when i see dan in front of me though!!!

  • perfect arrangement... the layered vocals, the solo wasn't overwhelming and i love the sound of the little outro where he hits his mate's neck and they laugh about it. shows a real human quality to the performance. bravo guys! if you enjoy diversity in your songwriting, you should try utilizing capos as they have done on this piece. absolutely brilliant...

  • hahahah see where hits off dans guitar at the end. love these guys!!!

  • UGH! Why can't these people come to America!

They JUST let the CD out, grarr...

    I wanna hear them live!

    COME TO AMERICA PLEASE!

  • lol i live on the street they are singing about! in norwich uk! dont know sarah though!!! saw them support airbourne! fab!

  • sarah is a ghost that haunts number 19 their is a website about it but i cant post urls on you tube (keithglen)

  • Great song, man!!!

not to be gross, but i really want dan's guitar pick now, it was in his mouth.

  • do you wanna his shit?

it was in his mouth too

  • i suppose that was funny in your little world.

  • ye it was. it was a funny and clever joke :)

  • awesome

  • first time i heard Dan solo so much, on an acoustic too! Richie is a damn good singer. Sad that Ed left though.

  • I die a little inside everytime I listen to this song.

  • Watch an Exclusive interview with Stone Gods and hear Dan and Toby's Top Tips on how to get signed and make it as a band.

Catch Ditto Music Live, Thursday 8-9pm on SKY180 (Red TV)

  • i thought that as well when i first heard it =D. Its an ace song possibly my favourite from them. Album is ace

  • Where have I heard this song before? I know I've heard it in a tv show or a movie or something, but I cannot find where I heard it. Does anyone know if it's been in anything?

  • waooo...greaaat

  • Fantastic.

  • thats awesome! i'm going straight out and buying myself a daft hat :D

  • This song is very alive.

  • Brilliant - music as it should be, well orchestrated, moody and well crafted......rock on!

  • Do these guys come to the States?

  • No, they don't come from the States. Try Norfolk and you'll be a bit closer to the truth.

  • I believe that they were asking whether they'd be touring in America.

Check the Stone Gods official tour dates page for locations/venues etc

  • Actually prefer the sound of this video version to the one on the album, much better sound done acoustically, But thats only one opinion of many!!

  • a very good song, i think.

  • This song is one of their best and probably their most diverse and well written. I'm so glad Dan gets to solo now and Justin isn't hogging the spotlight like he did towards the Darkness's latter days. No offense to them or Justin cause they rocked too! :D

  • hey does anyone have the lyrics 2 this song

  • it seems that this man in white shirt in the middle does.

    ;] but i don't :) [sorry, just a stupid joke]

i can't find them on the net, unfortunately :/

  • HAHAHA That was actually really funny.

  • Google it, I found them the other day.

  • epic song man

anyone know where to get it good quality ?

  • on the album :P or do u mean this exact version? perhaps itunes dunno?

  • sois los mejores!!!

  • ballin' song!

  • awesome song man

  • it's a Gibson :)

  • i think it's a gibson but i not sure?

  • Somebody has to ask this. What guitar is Dan playing?

  • Obviously a Gibson.

I would say an SJ 200. My closest guess from what I can see.

Richie is playing a Martin... possibly the 16 series. Not sure what model it might be.

  • I like this song so far the best :)

  • the classic rock is alive again.

  • Does anyone know when their new album is in Australia? Or is it already? I haven't seen it anywhere in Australia.

  • you may have to download it...

  • and ill tell u what, its the lead break at the end of the track that tops it off in comparison... why did they cut it out of the studio version?!?!?!

  • this version is so much better than the album version. i freekin love it

  • saw them at hmv norwich put 4 videos on youtube of stone gods wanna see them?

  • Had the pleasure of meeting these guys when they played in Dundee a dew weeks ago. Great guys really down to earth and friendly. They rocked I wish them the best.

  • Great to see Dan again. He's a very talented guitarist, one of the best youngins around today. This song is fantastic. These guys are gonna be bigger than The Darkness

  • Dan is a FUCKING GOD

  • forgot to say i really love this song, makes me regret that i didn't came up with this tune!

and as response to previous reactions including requests for dans solo/the guitar to be electric i say no way! it would take the purity out of the song! if i would be the producer of the album i'd take this version unpolished straight on the cd!

  • this song reminds me of the velvet revolver song don't drop that dime of the libertad album! though this might have more of the english country side touch to it! a bit like led zeppelins folk songs(more poplike though)

  • uhhh.. what?

  • i live on magdalen street! fun times xo

  • Wow! Absolutely wonderful song.

  • lush man

  • i cant stop listening to this its soooo good the stone gods rock :D

  • Ned schlecht! echt geil sogar, was der gittarist auf die beine gstellt hat.

  • This is one of the best Acoustical songs I have ever heard. I just guess it's how it is put together between the lead and the two rythm guitars.

  • Erm ...

Hate to mention it, but it's only two guitars and one bass.

  • Hate to mention this, hes playing a 4 string acoustic bass

  • wrong.

  • lol, you fool. its an acoustic bass. look how long the neck is, how narrow it is, take a look at the bridge.

  • original

  • coming from a person who dosent even have videos at least they have talent and dont sit in the house all day making bad comments because their jelous get a life the stone gods rock!

  • What are the lyrics to this song i cant find them anywhere!!

  • brilliant chorus, the chord changes are so nice.

  • you guys gotta move on and stop comparing. srsly.

  • Great song really...

  • are you stupid? this song is amazing

  • Don't know where they are trying to make the song, did you mean were? It's an awesome song, got a very up beat vibe about it.

  • In The Darkness they were great but now...they're Gods...amazing, the band is just great, and so is the album.

  • The new album is Amazing! I loved the darkness, but once you hear this full album it will not disappoint!

  • I agree with Steve misa Mejdn. This song is really awesome. And singer is great too...I miss justin too, but noone knows whats waiting in the future:)

  • YEAH , this song is realy fucking great ! In my heart is Justin, but this is great too !

  • I don't know why singers voice reminds me Eric Clapton :) Althrough they were better as The Darkness :(

  • I really cant wait for the 7th of July -- I know this album will be absolutely out of this universe.

  • I have to say, i thought they wukd be dissapointing, but after listening to this, i have to say i am impressed!! nothing like the darkness, but as previously said, thats a good thing. the acoustic works rely well.

  • abloutely great... I love that sound...

  • To increase your chances of doing well, you need to be innovative and take risks. I have heard two songs from these guys so far and I haven't heard evidence of this. The only risk they've taken is to continue their journey after the Darkness. Just sounds like a song you'd hear at the pub really.

  • Hearing a song at a pub doesn't mean its bad.

Personally I think the Stone Gods have a lot going for them, for one, they have the experience of having been in the music industry before this.

The only thing that I feel is really missing from the Stone Gods is the Yin/Yang thing that you got from Justin and Dan working together. As Justin said in an interview once, they made a good pair because one of them was a hard-working, determined person, and the other a bit of a twat (by his own admission!)

  • Justin was very musically talented, you can tell when you compare Stone gods to the Darkness

  • no cos justins influence seems only to have spewed out cheesy cliches

    this, however, is somethin' else

  • lol. Just listen to the two bands back to back, if you still dont see what I mean then we are on completely different wave lengths.

This is not 'somethin else' The Darkness were far more original than this.

  • neither band was original...how can u call the darkness original? waht where they doing that was in any way new? :^s

  • There are loads of bands that sound just like the Stone Gods, very few bands sounded like The Darkness.

Who has a voice like Justins?
