  • I am personally a Mac. I use PCs for school, and i dont have a problem with that. I do often play games on Steam, and I realize that the good titles aren't available to me. I understood that when buying my Mac. Now.. In the year and a half I have been running OSX Snow Leopard, I have had no issues. It's clean, functional, and fast. And I have seen PCs that are just as well. But if you are going to hate someone because of their COMPUTER prefrence.. Shows why the world is this fucked. peace.

  • @amb5991 I and probably and "pc fanboy" do not hate the users of macs. We hate apple which offers limited functionality and customizability for such a high, unjustified price. What is in a 1500$ mac for it to cost that much ? Tell you what: a i5, 2 gb of ram and a GPU ment for laptops. Companyes like dell have much much more performant all-in-one pc's for the fraction of a mac. Not to say that OSX can be run on a PC in parallel with windows.

Hmm... Guess I got a little carried there :D

  • @terorvlad at half the speed of osx on a mac. not saying ur wrong. but mac is overpriced for a reason. 1st, only the mac mini has 2gb. all the others start at 4 and 8. and the hardware is the same as dell, but its formatted differently before shipping for macs, which is why mac can't read viruses, has no bios, and boots in a fraction of the time of windows. not to mention the unix base. and i can say from experience unix was amazing. i only use/build pcs for gaming now.

  • @MrCheesecakeFilms I find not having a bios a issue since my i5 is clocked higher than 4 Ghz. Also, the ability not to read viruses is something "dictated" by the OS. Windows takes every program you install, without asking questions "most of the time". OSx is controlling every move apps make, making them more optimized & fast and all that. The boot up time is a lot faster since there is no bios after all but a PC without bios should and would boot almost as fast if not faster.

  • @terorvlad theoretically a no BIOS pc would boot faster, but against osx or linux or unix or any other OS, windows would still be the slowest due to the weight. windows takes nearly 20gbs, the others take between 1-5 (excluding servers). windows boots slow cuz its heavy, not cuz of the bios. and osx doesn't say not to read viruses. its secure cuz its on efi and it reads files differently. idk about u, but i like that mac takes the time to make my apps work perfect. btw, i5 2500k??

  • what type of computerr will be able to play high graphic games but it has to be in the 300 or 400 doller wage

  • @ikehard18 umm probably no pc for 3-4. if u have a pc u don't use at ur house u could use parts from it to save cost, then just buy ram, mb, cpu, and case and build ur own pc. other than that, i doubt ur gonna be able to find a gnu/cpu intensive capable pc for that cheap. id say just keep saving. intel is due for a new cpu soon anyway so just wait and build a good system later on. trust me. the power u get will be worth the wait.

  • this isn't mac or crysis.

  • Ueaaaw ! :S thats ugly bad, My eee do crysis better than thah :/

  • @cmdq1337 ENGLISH MOTHAFUCKA DO U SPEAK IT!?

  • You guys also have to realize, as you record your screen with a program it slows down your FPS. So don't bring down macs, cause lets me honest it takes a really good PC to run this game well. So for a mac to do this, its impressive.

  • That's not even playable at all......

  • Invertedmonster you said macs are gay? Seriously your name is invertedmonster...talk about gay

  • this is like buying a escalade and expecting it to win the grand prix. So all the noobs that are like "OMGZ, this lagz", no shit, its a mac

  • dont forget its recording

  • yea, thats true, but on 1024x768, id expect better fps than that..

  • "id expect better fps than that.."

Are you being serious? the 8600GT in this thing has 128mb of vram. I used to have this exact same model of the MacBook Pro (2.2GHZ) and I had to turn the settings way down for Halo 2 Vista to even be playable and it looked horrible.

"All settings are on high except shaders on medium and object detail on medium."

Do you guys seriously believe this?

  • right, so i stand by my original point, macs suck

  • No, I have a point. You don't know your shit.

the 2.4 ghz one will run it on medium settings and it has an 8600GT with 256mb, the 2.5GHZ and up MacBook Pros have 512mb 8600GT's and will run the game on high settings.

The one on the video is the base model. and the new MacBook Pros have a 512mb 9600GT and a 9400m all in one chip, highly capable of games.

  • and i have an-other point, macs are gay

  • I just bought the one with the 512mb 8600GT today.

I'll be posting a video with some badass gaming performance soon.

  • i dont know how that makes macs suck

    or gay?

  • @InvertedMonster

did you really look up this video just to say that? are you a pathetic human being?

  • the macbook pro is not intended to play the latest games...but funny enough it runs autoCAD 3D and photoshop cs4 simultaneously without any issues.

  • Ok, auto cad and photoshop are ram demanding applications, you could have a POS gpu and it would run with 4g of ram.

  • if i where u i should play in medium :S

  • LAG

  • WHAT A FUCKING LAG ! HAHA

  • the only reason it's running like that is first of all it's on a laptop, secondly it's not running the game natively. If Crytek were to get with the times and make a version native to OS X it would handle it like a baby, on a Mac Pro that is lol I think it works better using parallels anyway, bootcamp kinda sucks, seeing as it's still beta

  • You have no idea what you are talking about. Bootcamp partitions the drive and you run windows nativity. At full speed and everything. Parallels is being virtualized and cannot handle the most basic 3d. Also, VmWare Fusion is much better than Parallels 3. Don't post unless you know your facts.

  • bootcamp is not beta anymore it is in leopard and you can't pley the latest games on parallels

  • bootcamp is not a beta anymore

  • dude sorry to be a party pooper and all

but i really suggest u to go on normal setts.

i got my macbook pro, the one with 2.4 ghz

and mine runs almost smoothly in medium-high settings

    soooooo

    yea.

  • what resolution do you run it in ?

  • same as him, but i use the natural mod

i run it at evrytin high except

    volumetric,objects,shadows and shaders on med

  • man ur such stupid windows nerd!

  • me too mac sux

  • Why is the sound so low?

  • that is not smooth at all

  • Thank you for posting this video :)

I bought my macbook 2.2 on last week and I'm waiting for it arrive here...

I'm very curious about Macbook's gaming performance...
