@darrylsloan Do you know if I can use the techniques you use here to memorize tables of numbers (for e.g. statistical tables and present value tables) etc?. If yes, can you give me an outline of the steps to use to memorize tables of numbers?
this is brilliant!!! im currently revising tudor history from henry VII - Elizabeth I and seemed so impossible to remember dates but now im finding it so easy to remember now!!! thanks for this so helpful!!!
Why is memory so intimately connected to consciousness, and why is consciousness so intimately connected to philosophy?
Go figure, I studied memory about 2 years ago, and it eventually led me to philosophy. I didn't expect this video to show up, and its quite a surprise that Mr. Darryl Sloan is talking about human memory right here.
Great! And I see there are some analogical similarities between this code/ way of memorising and the techniques I've been using myself for memorising around 2000 Japanese characters in the past 2 years.
Looking forward to see more videos from you, Darryl! :)
when I need to remember numbers I just find groups of numbers and add them together. I don't know why but it just makes it easier for me when I can add a lot of numbers together to make one number.
Great idea! I had read about picture & rhyme pegging, but never thought of pegging the numbers to letters. Rather, I only pegged numbers to images (e.g. 1 = pen, 2 = swan). This method is better - very useful, thanks!
Just coincidents.....dosn't aplly in all cases I am gonna fail :(

Watched this vid yesterday and I still remember 340 and 1609. If you knew my usual memory (lack of) skills, you'd be mighty impressed.

Wow, i was saying in this video that you are saying stuff similar to what Derren Brown was saying as he uses rooms to remember stuff
I am the exception with numbers as they are easier for me to remember, but I am a numbers/math guy however.
