One of the best songs from one of the most underrated albums. I had a Mick grudge until I really listened to all the albums and bootlegs I had in headphones. Every one of these players made each other better. LOVE
@strummer77clash ....... yes, there was something about the clash that no other band could come close, they seriously was talented in a one off way, there are plenty of talented bands around but these boys were different, each member had great talent of their own , put all that together and you have something special. look at their music, all different styles, from punk to reggae to rockabilly to rap to gospel , wow! what a band
@keji1 Ive heard it called both Junco Partner and Version Pardner. Version Pardner is on Sandinista! CD2 and at least on the collection I got Junco Partners on Both Kingston Advice, and Sandinista! CD 1. I think theres some minor differences but Im not to sure on that part, could just be the title.
a great song, a brilliant album and an almighty talented band....and that includes all their collaborators they all together made a sound, a form of music and a love for expression that has influences still to this day. no wonder they deserve the epitaph "the only band that really mattered"
Who needs a reason to post a Clash video. Their great music speaks for itself. Thanks for posting one of my all time favorites. The Clash is one of the greatest rock n roll bands of all time.
Junco Partner is a traditional American blues song remarkable for being covered and revised by many artists over several decades. Some of them include Dr. John, Professor Longhair, James Booker and even The Clash, the legendary British punk rock band. It was played in different music genres such as blues, folk, rock, reggae and dub. The songs lyrics refer to needles, drugs, wishes, and to the notorious Louisiana prison farm in Angola
while I'm driving my car around use to sing this clash song still today.....
