I went to Cydia to download 3proxy, it says that it cannot locate the file for the 3proxy package, it says I need to manually fix this package!? BTW my iphone 3g I bought on ebay and it is a jailboroken iphone 3g! BUT why does cydia say that?

5:53 there is no reason why the other options should be set to 0 as their port value many people use these settings for their normal day to day use so please don't tell them to reset them all :L

currently it's against their rules to tether the iPhone. It'll be available through AT&T with the next 3.1 update and you'll have to pay a monthly service fee for tethering

get a g1. the tethering process is much easier. no jailbreaking. all you need to do is stalling a app called "pdanet". i use g1 to tether to tether to my laptop almost everyday. t-mobile 3g is pretty quick. i can watch high quality youtube video without experiencing stoppage. coverage is also good in my area. the best thing about t-mobile is that they don't care how you use your data, t-mobile doesn't prevent tethering on their network nor do they charge you extra for it.

by the way, don't go over 10GB per month. if you do, your speed will be throttled down to 50kb/s. you probably will not get charged extra, but 50kb/s is slower than dial-up, so you probably don't want that speed on you 3g connection.

it actually says in AT&T's policy that they will bill you extra when you exceed 5GB/month data useage but they will notify you when you reach the 5GB limit if you want to continue or not. so you really have nothing to worry about

I'm not familiar with PDAnet. I guess it's only free for a few days to demo and then you have to pay for the full version. You can use the steps I feature in this video to do the same thing for free

QUICK QUESTION: I can do the tethering just fine and it works great at my house, but my friend doesnt have wi-fi. He wants to hook his ps3 online for a little while so we can play some Call of Duty4, and I know i could hook it up through tethering his laptop then taking the CAT5 cable from the pc to the ps3. THIS WILL WORK, however, will my data usage be noticed or have you guys also run up a huge data use with no problem?

i have a windows vista desktop and iphone 3g . i did everything you said which was pretty much the same in a video for windows. i connected fine but the only thing is the wifi icon stays on with my iphone and i don't have internet just connected without the internet. any advice?of coarse if i manuely turn of my wifi then i lose my connection to the dest top.

Jailbreak your iPhone with either the Pwnage Tool for mac or WinPwn for PC, after jailbreaking your iPhone it automatically installs Cydia on your iPhone. Keep in mind, this voids your warranty
