If you came to this video to make up your mind about LoL, it's a very, very bad representation of the game.

HoN doesn't have the same dynamic, and is more random paced than LoL.

That's the biggest difference, imho.

You see a clearer difference between roles in LoL, with the exception of supports, which are oftentimes capable of DD.

Tanks in HoN, feel more like offense styled champs that were designed to have large amounts of defense to serve a purpose.

That's what i mean when i say dynamic.

You can always just DL the game and try it out. It's 100% free, payment is optional and only needed for aesthetics. It's Dota re-vamped and improved, but I'll warn you now, the match-making system can be a bit screwy.

give some proof, HoN is nothing more than a graphical update of DotA. LoL actually replaced the runes system, ORIGINAL abilites for ORIGINAL heroes. (yes, the abilities are actually different). DotA gameplay is old and stagnated, how somebody can claim HoN gameplay is 'ahead' when it is a 100% clone of DotA is laughable. People only want eye candy.

Although I agree LoL graphics are far too cutesy for my liking... cel-shading ftl.

As for HoN- takes time to get used to shopping, same dota vol2 with lovely way to sort out leaver problem, way of reconnecting in 5mins after DC,nice stat system- still need polishing but over all HoN wins.

tried both HoN and LoL- what can I say LoL looks cute and is rather interesting but there are tons of bugs some heroes seem OP, ranged heroes have ridiculously low range NO(!!!) on use items- all stat boosters, some weird shizzle with "summoner" what lets you ad tiny portions of stats the more games you play(with runes and some sort of talent tree),

Besides being a little cluttered/busy at times, HoN does win in the graphics dept. Basically a newer engine. But as far as innovations outside of DotA, and gameplay/balance, I think LoL wins. Both are better than DotA in the sense that DotA needs to grow beyond WC3 and Bnet, both of which are kind of outdated and crappy.

2.5D the camera angle doesn't change.

If you watch a you tube of DotA and you have never seen the actual game. the graphics look crappy, keep that in mind.

There are a lot of huge explosions and flashing animations in DotA too, that's what makes the game so exciting! Imagine zeus chain lightning while puck ulti's and na stuns while lina stuns!

Also this is still in Beta and will be constnatly updated like DotA (except beter because they have more time and developers!).

The graphics are really not that good. And yeah yeah, it's all about the gameplay but look at how messy it is with all the flashes and stuff going on. Wouldn't it make controlling your units hard with all that confusion? I hope they refine this.

I play dota and I'm a fan of dota. But lets think for a while. I know the graphic look suck, maybe it'll be bettered after the full release. When I first play dota, it was around last year, dota's graphic is way out-dated compared to today's games. It never get into my interest at all but when I played it, I was so hooked. League of Legends would probably be the same. It's all about the gameplay.

This is very depressing for me. This would be like dota in the pre-Icefrog ages. All the imbal heroes, with none of the new significant changes that made Dota into what we know it as today. I wouldn't mind this game, but I truely hope that it does not usurp or destroy what Icefrog has tried so hard to maintain.
