  • As always the lazy English jesters are the spoiled children of the Muse of Comedy, Thalia! Instead of producing a whole piece of comedy about the ridiculous American drawn would-be heroic figures and their laughable vesture they just made a brief jest about it and then move on; real comedic playwrights like Aristophanes or Molière would have been grateful for the kind of inspiration the Pythons had but they did make so little about their greatest comical ideas and so ran out of them before time.

  • @FireEyedMaidOfWar Well then it's a good thing you've come along and can produce much higher quality of material than the rubbish these plebeian amateurs dare set upon the airwaves.

  • @Goodspaceguy: Only if I could resurrect good old Aristophanes or Moliere.

  • He should be in the upcoming Avengers Movie.

  • 106 people are actually Superman

  • NOOO, You missed john cleese's rant.

  • What the fuck's a" quantity surveyor"?

  • @commentnotapproved1 The title says it all. a quantity surveyor surveys quantities

  • @commentnotapproved1 It's mainly a British term for the person who makes sure a construction project stays within budget.

  • @quirpco The government could use one of those.

  • @commentnotapproved1 Absolutely!

  • It's hilarious when Englishmen put on fake American accents.

  • I just love 1:46 XD

  • i can't help cracking up at the 41-41 second mark when bicycle repair man, while in disguise as superman, appears to hold back his laughter.

  • a shame that you cut out the anti-COmmunist rant )with John Cleese made up to look and sound like Richard Nixon)

  • It would seem that Bicycle repairman fixes bicycles for free, wouldnt that be PRO communist... Just a thought LOL

  • @KrunchyJD Is there something wrong with communism? Just a thought.

  • @MagDuke You dont get what I was saying do you?

Bicycle repairman fixes bicycles for free, yet he is against international communism, so you cannot see the irony.

Anyway it is good typical Monty Python...

    Go, bicycle repairman.

  • 101 peopple coulnt find bicycle repairman

  • Superboy: Hey, there's a bicycle broken, up the road.

Superman One: If only Bicycle Repair Man were here!

Superboy: Yes, wait, I think I know where I can find him. Look over there!

    Caption: FLASH!

All Supermen: Bicycle Repair Man, but how?

Superman One: Oh look... is it a stockbroker?

Superman Two: Is it a quantity Surveyor?

Superman Three: Is it a church warden?

All Supermen: NO! It's BICYCLE REPAIR MAN!

  • The bus is OLD 666 D:

  • Has anyone here had their Bicycle menanced by International Commumism? Direct Line say they wont insure me against it - so something else to worry about.

  • OMG HE IS SCREWING THAT BIKE!

  • 101 people never knew how to laugh

  • @TiagoESant 101 people are communists

  • What is a "quantity surveyor"? Someone who counts random things?

  • Hahahahaha Cleese is hilarious. You can tell this is where the creator of Burnt face man got his inspiration.

  • ...COMMIES. XD

  • 100 peoples bikes werent fixed by Bicycle Repair Man

  • he should get a nobel peace prize

  • At 0:24 there's another non-ordinary law-abiding citizen :))

  • OLD 666.............OLD DEVIL. Anyway brilliant sketch.

  • 0:25

Look at the numberplate "OLD 666"

  • Two of the first 10 billionaires in China? A tractor repairman and... a bicycle repairman! The rich nations buy new and discard, and this video may be less than just absurd.

  • It's amazing haha, Monty is just so genius. That little snort he made, just before he left them in wonderment IS HILARIOUS if you understand it haha.

  • There's a Python sketch for everything!

  • But why was the Superman riding a bike in the first place? Wouldn't he rather by flying?!?

  • @Doodle1Bean No, no in this sketch the ordinary becomes the real super hero and the super hero becomes the ordinary. Thus he has no super powers and has to ride a bicycle.

  • @Doodle1Bean Well, go and ruin a brilient sketch, Doodle.

  • Thank Supergod for Bicycle Repairman!

  • I am "BICYCLE REPAIRMAN" and think this is a very accurate depiction! ;-)

  • ahahah this is so funny!!! great clip!

  • @xdhandcrafted There are those what does and does not, you must realise. How should they improve?

  • watch?v=2B_HwNKOriE

  • I love their overdone American accents.

Funny, funny stuff. Classic MP at its best! :D

  • My favorite part of this sketch is just after it cuts out when Cleese starts to flip out.

  • Do you want to see a bike crank & transmission in one?

Watch: UNIQUE BIKE CRANK ( 2- SPEED)

  • do you want to see a bike crank & transmission in one?

Watch: UNIQUE BIKE CRANK ( 2- SPEED)

  • Bicycle Repairmen? But how?

  • hes my hero

  • allways loved this sketch

  • Pretty boring sketch really.

  • @AdamfMc

Fuck you. This is the best Python sketch of all time. I truly hope you and your family all get cancer.

  • @TheMarkOfTheBeast1 That's lovely, thanks. My slight dissatisfaction at a television show means I and everyone I hold dear deserve an incurable disease. You might want to take a look at your priorities.

  • @TheMarkOfTheBeast1 bit harsh don't ya think,....

  • at the end, who's in between Cleese & Chapman? Doesn't look like any of the Pythons.

    favorite Palin sketch. (:

  • see how he uses a spanner to tighten that nut !-)

  • This is the prime example of american life.

  • @AwsuhmGai No this is a British comedy sketch.

  • @RS1963 I know that. The sketch takes place in "America" where every is depicted as Superman. It's poking fun at Americas ego and self view.

  • @AwsuhmGai Actually no it wasn't supposed to look like it was taking place in America and they didn't have American accents. That's for sure not even close to fake ones.

  • @AwsuhmGai some things they did were just simple comedic juxtaposition - it's simply not as layered as you think. (See George Reeves' 'Adventures of Superman', which the team had all grown up watching)

  • @Elhock I agree. They simply took the idea of Superman and turned it on its head while parodying the stereotypical melodramatic narrator often found in old adventure serials. Monty Python did political satire at times, but most of the times they were all about making comedy out of silly and absurd situations.

  • @AwsuhmGai

No, it isn't. It isn't meant to be poking fun at Americans and you don't know what you're talking about

  • @RS1963 also notice the fake american accents

  • Alter saddle!

  • 2:56 hahah

  • haha i have not seen that sins i was a kid

  • Oh god.

  • 最高のアホさいいなあ。しかも、最後は別の自転車になってるし・・・。

  • It is one of my most favorite sketch!!

  • Bicycle repairman!

  • @nutwrench He's just that good.

  • "See how he uses a spanner to tighten that nut !"

    I love this part !

  • Silly. As expected from Monty Python. :O

  • "Wait! I think I know where I can find him!Look! Over there!"

    FLASH!!

    Bicycle repairman? But how?!?

    Thanks for the upload

  • ALTER SADDLE!

    I love this bit...

  • The Python Guys are the best!

    Thats so stupid^^

  • yes it is

  • Is it just me, or does the bike change color from green to blue to red?

Even the handlebars change when it goes red. O_O

  • omg, i noticed that too! O.o creepy...

  • @XxZomBiEbLooDxX It's standard Monty Python routine, tho. o.O

  • you need to watch the other video to it, its funny

  • 0:26 there is a Guy on the left hand corner not dressed as Superman

  • communism is the greatest threat against all bikes

  • Man, I have to get the Comics!

  • incredible

  • well communism is not the best solution to govern the world but bicycles break down for other reasons

  • I'm sick of your shit.

  • Yes, wherever bicycles are broken, or menaced by international communism, Bicycle Repairman will be there, ready to smash the communists, wipe them out!

    LOLWIN!!!!

  • hahaha at their american accents!

  • He deserves a theme song!

  • @xxPatheticEmoxx the superman theme song backwards?

or maybe the batman theme song from the 60s with different lyrics

you have to admit, that song is really friggin catchy

  • @SpecialAgentRavage i've been trying to find out what it is called (the music used in "bicycle repairman" on Monty Python...it is so daggone catchy :) if you ever find out the name, please please let me know so i can download it! thanks

  • @xxPatheticEmoxx i vote for double dutch bus

  • @smackythefrog23 itz english

  • All about taste mate, I think it's up there with the Piranha Brothers. But I can see how you could dislike the randomness of it.

  • Yeah, your'e right. Gotta agree with you about the Piranha Brothers, I recall when I went to school the following day after it was on the TV, we were all talking about it and disecting it. Great fun, great days, not like the vicious "comedy" we have to endure these days. I thing this was a big piss take on the Richardson and Kray gangs of the 50's and 60's. And remember, we had to take it all in on the day, no chance of a replay on the VCR, not invented then. Bloody hell, I'm getting old... LOL

  • Haha, cool story bro. Awesome that you actually experienced these guys when they where around, before the golden age of the VCR. The best bit from Piranha Brothers is of course DINSDALE!

  • 1:51 looks like Gordon Brown

  • 02:39 too funny when they say "oh!" (with subtitle!!!)

  • "It's all in a day's work for bicycle repairman." *snort*

  • NOOOOOOOOOO! You cut out the part when Cleese goes mad and swears at the commies! Blimey!

  • @Wladek89HU, I think it was meant as an ironic joke, appropriate for the times but what do I know?

  • @Wladek89HU

    I'm a hard-line anti-communist, and even I thought that part was funny.

  • @DTD110865 Yeah! That is funny. But not because of the communists, but because of How Cleese behaves. I think it is funny how he manages to express the average overexaggerated hatred against the eastern blocks' ideology, and its proponents.

  • Please watch:

THE WORLD'S SIMPLEST TRANSMISSION for BICYCLE

  • @Wladek89HU

Well, the hatred's legit. But the misapplication towards things it has nothing to do with(i.e., a broken bike), and his hysterical outburst makes it ludicrous.

  • powdered...... toast........ maaaaaaaaaaaan!

  • lol

  • Who is the geezer 3rd from the left? 02:29

  • Superman

  • Spanish, and it's because the film he pulled it from had subtitles.

  • ..........................

    or a break your arm!

  • "bicycle repair man is ready, ready to smash the communists" lol xD

  • HFS! I used to fix bikes when i was a kid! In Wisconsin. Really.

I can't watch this without falling off my chair.

"See how he uses a spanner to tighten that nut.."

If i had seen this when i wa a kid i would have turned out totally ???????????

    Python is KING

  • ...and you took your skills lightly.

Let that be a lesson to us all.

  • You are buddah!

I've been a field engineer for surgical equipment, designed neuro-interfaced biomedical devices, become a professor teaching electronics, engineered electron microscopy, and more... and yet, i still remember those wonderful skills and lessons i first learned working on bicycles.

See why i revere python as a religion?

May the sun shine benevolently on you.

  • LMAO I love the horrible American accents XD

The irony in this is beautiful XD

  • This reminds me of Burnt Face Man, if uve ever seen it lol

  • I'm telling on you and getting you done.

    :)

    Burnt Face Man was great.

  • LMAO Burnt Face Man is amazing x3

  • That and the busload of supermen.

It's funny, but also kind of dumb and insulting,

Then, on a totally different level, it becomes funny as heck again!

I can't figure out how to describe it, but this is multi dimensionial.

All i know is that i occasionally send a python sketch video to everyone on the office that mirrors a recent office event.

It floors everyone. totally unprofesssional. Even the germans love it !(i for for a US branch of a GmbH)

    Python bridges all dividing lines!

  • well, i am german, and it's right, we really love it! i don't know anybody who doesn't like it

  • I think I know where to find him. Look over there!

  • Oh look over there! Its a disctraction!

  • Where?!

  • *sigh* My bicycle has been broken for almost two months. Looks like repairing it would cost as much as buying a new one.

  • that's hilarious

  • I think I'm Bicycle Repair Man

  • damn international comunists

  • Hahahah I love the American accents XD

  • ムグラウンドの西麻布「

  • How many biycycle repairmen does it take to screw in a bolt. Just one.

  • Witty

  • is it a stock broker?, is it a quality surveyor?, is it a church warder? NO! Its Bicycle Repairman!

I love the irony in this sketch. A world of heroes can't do menial work haha
