Old America was much more decentralized but still had large national goals like manifest destiny. The (8 or 9?) corporations that left are analogous to the 13 states. If you actually look at the actual racial descriptions under caldari, you would get a Korean/Japanese, American, Cossack/Russian hybrid. But the State's story is much much American.
You DO know that the Nyx crashed into that station because the Broker was pretending to be the admiral for that ship by using a clone like body in the attempt to make it seem that gallenteans did it.
On top of that, Tibus Heth expected to die when they raided the Caldari Constructions complex but it was the broker that took him to become the president of Caldari.
And the only reason why The broker did all that was to try to make Otro Gariushi give him the Vitoc vaccine.

Caldari you become effective fast and dont really get more effective until much later. I just broke 13million sp in missiles and now my tengu is 100% more effective then it was before i trained all my stuff. It just takes a LONG time to get from that "effective" range to teh Super Effective in caldari.
If Caldari sucks why are the majority of active EVE players Caldari and how come whenever someone asks what ship they should use for whatever, the majority of the people recommend a Caldari ship?
It's because Caldari have the shortest learning curve and training time before becoming effective - no need to learn to keep at a certain range if you have missiles, no need to learn to conserve your cap if you have a passive tank, etc etc. That said, I too fly Caldari, because nothing feels quite as fun as shoving a boatload of missiles down someone's throat.

I'm Gallente through and through but these 4 videos are some of the best Eve Online material I've seen in a long time. Really well edited from some nice eve related clips, and an excellent choice for sound too! Awesome stuff.
