Ah yes -The Lonesome Pine Special. Man performing on that show w/ Ann was such a treat and I still have the original footage from that broadcast that I'll post soon. I'll have to show Ann all the beautiful comments as I'm sure she'll be so moved by all the love and support. -p
So wonderful to see this. Moving and beautiful - I saw Ann Peebles live in Kentucky many years back with Otis Clay and the Mississippi Blind Boys - It was aired on PBS - There is nothing like hearing her soulful voice in person - My favorite is "I can't stand the rain"
This is Ann Peebles at her very best and she just leaves todays R&B and Rap for dead. I love her voice, I love her style and she is the queen of soul. What a performance this is and to any R&B singers out there now, you should all retire until this queen of vocals retires. This is just beautiful and John More is so right to say that we should let this piece of real class just wash all over us. God bless you all out there and remember the most important thing you have in life is your health.
ok , WOW. what a a beautiful voice. i came across her music looking for Tina turners version of i cant stand the rain. Tina did great, but It belongs to Ann.
I cant believe a singer like her is not more popular.
Why dont we hear more from her?She has one of best voices, ever. She could teach these wannabes such as,beyonce, cassy, rihanna and all the other none talented people that call themselves artist.
squizzoo I thoughly and categorically agree with you. We have moved so far away from Soul with this R&B and rap rubbish that we are indanger of losing soul forever. We can't go on leaving to the past greats to keep bring us soul. They will not be with us for ever.I would like someone to set up a website to save soul. I will join and help in anyway I can. Anyway just sit back and let the queen wash all over you. Lady Pebbles, Ann Peebles.
Ann is why I laugh at the white girls on Idol and other shows trying to sing like they have soul. All they do is vocal gymnastics and they sound pathetic. Ann Peebles is the real deal and has SOUL and you can hear it. What a wonderful voice! Fantastic.

Can anyone tell me if the Stax studio is built like the original? If you walk into it today, is just like it was?

She really does have one of the most beautiful voices. It really is an injustice that she's not more popular

I saw Ann Peebles live in San Francisco in the late 80s/early 90s. She was so wonderful. There's no more pure soul around than Ann. Thank you!
