  • This song is a scotcher. Am looking for the studio version where the bass notes were out of this world.

  • So cool to find this video. Done near the time it was released on New England, it is very true to the album original. I always have that CD handy.

  • Drummer is so tight and tasty, all of these guys were underrated, underknown.

  • The best . . sine qua non . .

RIP Bob Rand - Number 1 Wishbone Ash fan . . I guess you're dancing with those spirits now and forever . .

. . . toodlepip from a Gay Tory Christian (as if . . . as you know well!)

  • Andy and Laurie. The REAL Wishbone Ash!

  • @ooxox4u

Love Argus and Dates1, but the Powell/Turner/Wisefield era is my favorite. No question.

  • Andy & Laurie work so well together!!!

  • Nice tune!

Steve Upton & Martin Turner make tight and powerful beats.

  • i saw this band in 1980 at st,georges hall bradford, they blowed the roof off, so much passion soo tallanted, timeless...

  • cool video

  • One of my all times favs....every riff i ever played comes from this....

  • amazing...

  • magic!

    I'm19 again

  • laurie has been playing in tina turners band for a while now

  • ammmmaaaaazzzzzzzinnnnnngggg!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i think the band had better chemistry with ted turner as the guitarist

  • From 2000 or so, Laurie has been in the band of the West End stage show We Will Rock You. Not sure about right now though...

  • AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Whenever a guitar magazine publishes a "Top 100 Guitarists" or "Top 100 Guitar Solos" list, it's hard to believe these guys are never mentioned. Laurie may be the best "unknown" guitar player (along with the deceased Danny Gatton) ever. Flawless technique with an incredible sense of melody. Love this vid.

  • @efeeley Sure they do! Rolling Stone the last I saw had Andy Powell in the top 100; I can't see how they can keep it below 250! This is a 1976 performance, so things have evolved. These guys started out terrific IMO. Great song here. Blackmore Night does a similarly named song.

  • @EdVidz Rolling Stone isn't a "Guitar Magazine", but kudos to them for having Andy on their list.

  • @efeeley lists blow-

  • New England is one of my favorite albums. I first saw Wishbone around 1982-83 in Rosyln N.Y. @ My father's Place. Anyone remember that place.

  • @ssstumpf I saw many great shows there- including,Sprit, tommy bolin, and Roy buchannon .savoy Brown and many others...missed the ash there though....

  • Great stuff. me and my mates used to sit in my mams house listening to the live dates volume 2 album stoned out of our heads. We were heavy metalers but this song always blew us away. Great days.

  • New England has always been my favorite work by WA. Thanks for posting, great to see some of it done live.

  • Laurie could really make that Strat sing!

  • how could anyone mistake Andy and Laurie's playing.....I guess it's possible.....either way they kicked ass....as for the new line ups (after Laurie) it's all fill...non of hem come even close...I've seen all the lineups since 73...Ted Turner and Laurie Wisefield and that's it.......just my opinion

  • This lineup of the band was always my personal favorite...props to Laurie Wisefield!!

  • I had always assumed that it was Andy Powell playing lead on this tune, until I saw this video! Great licks!! I wonder what Laurie is doing these days?

  • He plays with Tina Turner now.

  • 2:38 great stuff ...

  • Ah,wishbone un amour qui dure depuis 35 ans!!

  • Wow! I mean can it get better than this, a great song, the best! Awesome live!

  • one of the first bands with two guitars in the rock very good sound thanks for this video

  • the perfect band - all of them brilliant

  • breaks my heart to see andy and martin so 'in tune' they were wondrful together

  • yes powell and wisefield...but martin turner is exquisite, cmon

  • the new ash line up is quite good- and andy has managed to keep things going all these years....

  • :) ,,,,,,,,,,,

  • @radioactive1111 This is a special great song [studio version's best].

  • aaaah nice....great to hear this again. laurie wisefield is a really top guitarist.hope they keep going forever!

  • Not many people know about this gem! The whole New England album is great, listened to the lp over and over; mesmerizing. Found it on CD in Germany after looking everywhere in the States, Asia, etc...

  • Yes great album I have it on vinyl got it the day it was released not a bad song on it

  • I used to steal this album from my sister all the time. I freakin wore it out.

  • Powell+ Wiesfield= some of the best twin guitar leads ever done.....FANTASTIC!!

  • Fantastic stuff, I believe Lorelei are mytical german water spirits similkar to the water kelpies of Scotland

  • I remember Wishbone Ash during the early 70s, but unfortunately none of my buddies grabbed me by the earlobe and sat me down long enough to appreciate this group. WOW!!! What a gem from the past!

  • Amazing!

  • Amazing stuff from one of the most under-rated bands of the 70's.. The album, "New England" always garaunteed "third base" from any babe.

  • Beautiful song!

  • good stuff, remember this well from New England tour Glasgow Apollo '76

  • man they did this one good

  • Great Quality. Five Stars

  • I hope this one works better for you all!
