I like your point that there's never one thing that disproves a belief. I used to consider myself agnostic to the idea of a deist god, but it was not one thing that turned me away from it, but many things compounded together that made me realize that a god of any kind is highly unlikely.
I was reading this one in my local book store last weekend. I thought about buying it, but opted to go for the book You Inner Fish. However I'll probably pick it up next time allong with Unweaving The Rainbow.
I enjoyed the book, but I have the same problem with Shermer's position on atheism/agnosticism, he's very wishy washy, he seems to say different things depending on who he's being interviewed by, and what the audience is. Meaning he's much more of an agnostic when he's on mainstream media.
Before i read this book i thought holocaust denial was something only Muslims did.Its seems strange that one of the leaders of the movements is an atheist.
read the science of good and evil. its a good book....
could u also post some fiction books.
