  • pure class.

  • Superbe. Je ne connaissais pas cette chanteuse jazz smooothy. Une belle découverte, merci.

  • Had not heard this before either. Have been to 3 of her concerts. Have met her several times. Used to get Christmas cards from her and John.

  • I too saw this on BBC4 tonight. Wonderful sinuous vocal. So glad it's on You Tube.

Catch Cleo's vocal of 'Fear no more the heat o' the sun' from Cymbeline. Someone read it at a funeral I went to recently. So moving.

  • This was featured to-night on a Johnny Dankwoth tribute(BBC4).I don't know of a greater female jazz vocalist. This piece is now my favourite by Cleo Laine- taking over from "Never let me Go".

  • thats why sh's called a Dame

  • I've never heard this before. Absolutely gorgeous! Love it..."using the good day God made" you can't beat that line.

  • What a great asset this couple was to the world of music. This is such a subtle arrangement and Cleo sings with true mastery of rhythm, phrasing and vocal nuance.

  • just superb!

  • Singer, vocalist, artist, entertainer; we are all so lucky to be able to see and hear her.

  • wow she still performs today? respect. such a velvety voice .

  • Wonderful... Thanks for Posting.

  • The journey through the song is unique.. almost avant garde... but beautifully makes amazing sense! (erm... well I know what I mean lol )

  • Wanted to point out the beauty at this line. Melodically I am so jealous I never thought of it. (2:00 - 2:32)

  • Superior musical construction. Her lyric lines are very angular rhythmically yet fluid melodically. Very, very interesting as a musical motif; For All Times.

  • For me, this kind of performance is humiliating for many singers.

  • Who wrote this tune?

  • Cleo Laine and Jonny Dankworth are masters of this art, and this is a real gem, when everything comes together in a unique way which can never be repeated. The voice, the song, the music the moment of that time. A true masterpiece.

  • Love this lady! Thanks for Sharing! What I would give to get my hands on that Schonberg Pierrot Lunaire recording......

  • PLEASE!PLEASE!PLEASE! Someone upload Cleo Laine singing Our Little Boat...It blows my mind and should be heard by every Jazz Bossa fan...It is a truly great recording.

  • What a voice...a true lady... "take note Britney and crowd" (By the way she's 81 years old and still performing...)

  • performing VERY well BTW!

  • I've never herd of this song before, its so nice

  • such refined artistry...lovely.

  • wonderful!!!!!!who knows where i can find the lyrics of this song?i am italian i can't understand everything:-)it's suche a beautiful song!!
