WHO on Earth has ever seen "God" in the public square and been like, "You know what? With all this god talk, maybe I should convert after all. Maybe it's not a bad thing"?? Yet that's what these right-wing jackasses seem to assume when they pretend like the MENTION of God in the public square somehow makes us "More Christian" and/or "more moral."
What it MEANS is that as a nation we've become more flexible and able to separate REAL LIFE from congregations and belief and shit. We're not so clingy to our religious ideals as a nation that we need to see them represented EVERYWHERE we go. I would think that's a good thing...
