Very insightful. I've been practicing Kenpo for a number of years and recently started Tang Soo Do at my local college. I was already familiar with some of the connected meanings between the two arts but this just blew my mind. I feel I learned a lot about the meanings from watching this.
The bad thing about the internet is that sometimes things come off differently than intended. I wasn't trying to disagree with you, I know other masters used kwon bop trust me. I was only informing you Tiger Kim had the kwon bop sets 1-6 preserved. I was hoping to peak some interest in your direction. It'll be my pleasure to share I love your work, your the most knowledge person I know on kenpo in general and I"m impressed you even know about kwon bop.
I understand your statements completely and appreciate you responding to me! I am definitely interested in the 1-6 kwon bop material you mention from your particular style and look forward to seeing it someday on youtube!
Also, thank you for the compliments regarding my work as well!
I am a martial arts historian so it is important for me to be familiar with the multi fasceted gem known as kenpo in all it's incarnations!
Actually sir our parent art Moo Duk Kwan Tae Kwon Do, headed here in New York by the late great Grandmaster Tiger Kim not only taught Kwon bop influence, but I believe we are the only school that preserved some Hyung. We have a series called "kwon bop" 1-6 that have been in our family for decades.
I never stated that Kwon bop taught exclusively by TSD. Hwang Kee is known as the person who popularized TSD through the Moo Duk Kwan. I am familar with Tiger Kim but He is not the only korean master who taught TSD through the auspices of the MDK. Please feel free to film Kwon Bop 1-6 so I may see the chinese influence.
Interesting ! keep up the good work Sir!
