It's not just the boxes that make the price so expensive, there's obviously a reason that they are sponsored by MLG, and that reason is amazing sound quality. That's why they are so expensive.

Yes you can but its harder with the xbox 360 than with the PS3. The Astro use with the 360 only allows the user to be about 4 ft from the Mixamp because of the chat cable that goes from the mixamp to the 360 remote control. However the USB cable is fairly long and you can probably get the mixamp 4-6 feet away from the 360. The PS3 is easier because the controller is cable free and the headphone 10ft allows you to be 10ft from the mixamp.
