you are right, they were the best. on 1:1 scale they could have easily beaten every army. FRANCE , USA, RUSSIA, BRITAIN, Kanada, had to combine their total forces to overwhelm them. The impression he told me was the Brits went in first then the Canadians then the US (this was leading up to the battle of the bulge) and when the US went first they got encircled and needed to be bailed out and that was the last time the US went and attacked large pockets of Nazi defenses. he also said the US were only interested in been the heros and got more brits killed than necessary. He did say they were good help at times though. His name Was Hugh Ross of the highland division.

I totally agree with you, ghostmovies, the German army was always an example of organized and successful fighting, most of the time, and if the Germans would have fought with the same number of enemy forces , I doubt any army could withstand the force of the mighty German Army. We must not forget that the present day armies are organized and use weapons with direct link to Germany's WW2 fighting force (except England, UK, Australia, India).
