  • I used to love this song soooo much!

  • Wow old school baby where are they now I had that hair cut long ago

  • This is great. The guy singing is Michael DeLorenzo who played Det. Eddie Torres on the TV show New York Undercover.

  • I live in Columbus, Ohio, and to my knowledge everyone that I have ever had a conversation with...here in Columbus...have all been given the same information and knowledge...that their manager took advantage of them and they were at his MERCY! From what I understand, he completely took advantage of these girls...regarding their future as Teen Dream and any of the money that they definitely deserved because of their hard work. This group should have been very, very, very SUCCESSFUL! Great Talent.

  • @rodneyallen10 not true. i was there.

  • wow look how the music, style and dances were back then. everything was so different and the music videos were amazing and differnt. old school music is so much better than todays music. i wasn't even born yet when this song came out and i was born in 1989. GREET STUFF

  • He was my favorite dancer on the show FAME!

  • OMG is this who sings lets get busy .......ohh the

    memories .

  • Columbus, OH stand up!!! I remember I had this album and thought it was the bomb!!! Particularly the ballad. I saw them at the fair back then. Where are they now?

  • @carolinavixen: Michael DeLorenzo was the actual artist -- however, he went by the name, ‘Valentino.’

  • was that really michael de lorenzo

  • Does anyone know who the actual male vocalist is on this track?

  • Thank you so much for posting this track. I have been looking for it for so long. You just gave me a holiday present just so you know. Thank you, thank you, thank you, and thank you.

  • @TUBEADE You're welcome.

  • i remember this song and group. i was in elementary school.

  • I grew up listening to my older brother's 80's funk as it was and is known here in Sydney Oz. I have recently started back tracking and buying up all these 80's gems. What can I say about this tune - brilliant! The music was real and fresh!

  • 80's forever.

  • lol random spinning 3D shapes ftw

  • sooo coool

  • i love this song lol its jamming

  • @shanibarbie24 I was in high school when I first saw this. Memories.

  • S.T.A.R.S. (Striving To Achieve Real Success) their is a website using starscolumbus (dot) org ( Click the word Video) . The group Fatty Koo and one of the girls from the group "Butta Creame" (with Pretty Ricky) came out of our S.T.A.R.S. program along with many others. I have used my own money to take participants in the program to Brazil and many other places.. So, before you take the time to put out vicious rumors get your facts straight.

  • @starscolumbus hi, chris! it's celina...

  • The video can be seen here on YouTube "Destiny's Child" Backyard Performance. This song was originally done by Teen Dream.

    3. To whomever said I ( Chris "The Mentor" Powell at that time ) took all of the money from the girls and put them dope - You are about as stupid as that comment. Over the years I have been extremely helpful in the development of young talent providing free training and education in the business of music and music production through the S.T.A.R.S. PROGRAM in Columbus

  • Tia Later went on to sing backgrounds with LaVert and Johnny Gill.

One of the songs on the second album was titled "SUNSHINE". I produced this song along with Alonzo Jackson. Malaco did not know what to do with this group as their main focus was and is Gospel and Blues. Several years later Alonzo was in Houston working with a group called "Girls Time". He flew me down to help work with the girls. We recorded the song "SUNSHINE" with them. Look at the video "Destiny's Child Backyard Performance"

  • 2nd. The girls in Teen Dream were not on dope. That was never one of their problems.. These problems were of a more personal relationship. The group was built around the voice of Terri Whitlow. When Terri decided to leave the group - there was no person in the group with a lead voice that could carry the group.. Warner Bros. told me that I had no control of the girls and dropped the group. The remaining girls signed a deal with Malaco Records. The lead voice became, Tia Stewart.

  • @starscolumbus Thank you for the info sir.

  • @starscolumbus Well the 2nd album sucked it was almost all new jack and sounded the same....LOL

  • Matt Seward had been in another group that I created called KOKO POP. We were on MOTOWN Records.. Benny Medina was the executive producer on the album and did not get along with Matt so, he did not want to put him in the Video.

The original video was choreographed by Paula Abdul but, one of the members in Teen Dream could not do the choreography. Otis Sallid who choreographed the movie "SCHOOL DAYS" was the choreographer of this video

  • Ok! It is time to set the record straight about all of this. I am Chris Powell. I created the group - produced and wrote the song "Let's Get Busy" and most of the other tracks.. Since Teen Dream I have worked with Troop, Destiny's Child, Rashad, and many others. 1. Michael de Lorenzo did not sing the song. He only appeared in the video because, Benny Medina (VP of Warner Bros.) did not want Valentino to appear in the Video.. Valentino is Matt Seward from Columbus Ohio - now singing in "FREEDOM:

  • Well I know Michael Delorenzo did not sing the other vocals, but do btw way recognize his 'fame styled' choreography

  • Anyone have "Everybody is Somebody"?

  • why does the male singer has the face of michael delorenzo frm new york undercover?

  • Is it me or does she look like Jaleesa (Dawn Lewis) on " A different World"??

  • @cherri1berry I thought the same thing.

  • Love it!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Oh snap! thats the dude from New York Undercover lol

  • Man, they sure didn't get the recognition that they deserved!!! This song was the jam... it should have gotten a lot of spins on radio stations through out the world!!! I hope these girls are doing well where ever they are now!!!

  • WOW! Oh WOW, man.

  • i got the whole album if you want a copy hit me up and i'll give you the link so you can download it

  • summer of '87! wow! that was a great summer! ;-D

  • @bellathelady I guess you were in high school like myself at the time. LOL! Fond memories.

  • @memyself2k Yes i was lol, n yes, fond memories lol! :-)

  • i got the cd

  • Fun fact: I heard that Michael Delorenzo is in this video because he's actually the male vocalist. I don't know how true it is but I thought that was interesting enough to share.

  • @CoCoYvette its true, he is the male vocalist

  • This is the hottest joint in my playlist.

  • Great To See People Discovering This Classic Track. The 80's Were The Best Times. The 80's Music Sound Can't Be Beat!! ^__^

  • GOOD SONG ! I LOVE

  • This group is from Columbus,Ohio. The album was released in 1987.

  • lmfao they must have killed this dude when youtube came out, i mean eddie torres the dude from new york udercover

  • Music in the 80's was great and fun. Performers worked on their craft and didn't had to exploit themselves to get a fan base. Back then you can go to a party without worrying about getting shot. Last, but not least, men and women knew how to dress and took pride in their appearance.

  • the 80's where the best with music! thank u so much, brought back fun memories!

  • You're welcome.

  • If ANYONE has this CD, I will pay you for a copy! Seriously...there were some great songs on there....

  • Try EBAY.

  • @pjstudevent i have a copy email me and i'll give you the link its the whole album too

  • @pjstudevent gimme an e-mail and the songs you want. Shit, I'll send them to you so you can burn em yourself

  • Takes me back to the 80's when i was growing up. Love this song.

  • I loved this song the first time I heard it, but I never new who sang it, so after hearing it a few times on the radio it disappeared and NO ONE in my family could remember it AT ALL. I have the last half minute of it on some old tape I recorded off the radio... I'm going from YouTube to Amazon to find a download or CD with this tune. Thanx for posting this!

  • You're welcome.

  • i haven't heard this song since high school, this song help me get the co-captain of the cheerleading squad, and i was a school nerd.

  • Finding this video is why the internet exists.

  • How true.

  • love this song! i still have their music on cassette. did they get a lil scrappy @ the end?

  • I been looking for this every where thanks..this was the jam

  • I wish they would post this album on ITunes. One of my favorite songs form the 80's!

  • I wanna see the original one .. where is terry at anyway she could sing good ..

  • I am Chris Powell the producer of this song. Brown Mark produced several songs one of which was called "TOY".Otis Salid choreographed the video. Paula Abdul began the video but,one of the original girls could not keep up with the dance steps. A new girl was found & her head pasted on the body of the old's on the album cover. By this time Paula was busy doing another project. Otis had just finished Spike Lee's movie "School Days" & the lead singer Terri Whitlow was a Jigga Boo in the movie.

  • I remember her in "School Daze" very well.

  • She sure was!!! I said that back when school dayz came out!!! Thanks for the info! Love the song back in the day!

  • @starscolumbus Are you the Chris referred to here? 'it's such a shame what happend to those girls chris the mentor their producer took their money and strung them out on dope why they were still in high school at east they use to have the bomb ass concerts and ride around in columbus in their new cars i even remeber when terry whitlow cameo in school days they had everything if you would see them in columbus you wouldn 't even reconized them just a wasted of beautiful talent.'

  • @starscolumbus i'm looking at the album cover now..i can see where the cut & paste is!! wow!!

  • @starscolumbus :Wow!

  • NIce! My Dad was one of the producers on the album and wrote a couple of the songs. I remember when he came back from LA after meeting the Warner Bros folks and talking about this amazing coreographer and beautiful woman who worked on this video - Paula Abdul, which was before her music career as a singer.

    Thanks for posting!

  • You're welcome.

  • Im the original ripper of this video, thanks for getting it and reposting it when youtube shut my other account down. When I get around to it I will rip it in a higher quality now that I have better equipment, It came fom the original Telegenics VHS that clubs use to play. I just found my CD earlier today and it reminded me of the video. Way underrated.

  • I had to because this is a rare video from a rare group that was forgotten. In fact, a woman claimed to be the lead singer's niece thanked me for the re-post as well.

  • This video featured michael Delorenzo from New York Underover and Fame.

  • This video played on new york hot tracks and video music box, I was in college when this song first came out. I loved it then and now it is a classic.

  • Omg!! it's been a long while since i seen this video! Off the hook

  • Thanks for posting.Love the 80's music.

  • You're welcome.

  • Man, I remember this song!!! LOVED it! And the album was great too!!!!

  • can you add the lyrics please ???

  • Sorry, I don't have the lyrics.

  • Comment removed

  • I Love This Video So Much. I Wish They Had Made More Videos. I Can't Get Enough Of This. ([-8

  • They apparently did videos for Slip-Slide and Toy too but I can't find them anywhere :(

  • slip-slide is my favorite song from the cd, where would one look to try to find these videos.

    lol

  • slip slide was a great song!!!

  • that guy use to be in new york undercover i miss that show

  • He was also a back-up dancer for Michael Jackson in "Beat it".

  • HOLY CRAP! I was thinking that he (Michael Delorenzo) must not be able to dance, why else add him in via some shitty animation. Then I saw your comment and... DAMN! He danced in one of the most acclaimed music videos EVER! (How could it slip my mind?)

And he was effin' sexy too!

    I'm just sayin'.

  • i thought i was the only one who remembered this. i used to have the record back in the day.

  • I had recorded to video on VHS back in the day until I had to find it.

  • Can someone add "Wthout you" by Teen dream from this album?

  • Oh SNAP!!!!!

Did anyone see that @ 3:42????? What was THAT all about? lol

  • Actually watch about a couple seconds before the 3:42 mark.

  • What am I missin' @ 3:42?

  • The way she put her hand in that girl's face. It appear kinda catty, but they all end up doing it in the end. It just looked like hidden tension to me, and made me wonder why this group didn't go very far. ;)

  • It looks like they were just having fun.

  • THIS ENTIRE ALBUM WAS THE SHYYYYYYT!!!

Still have it in the CD rotation!!!

    Columbus straight representing!!!!!

  • I got the CD myself.

  • This was the first CD that I ever bought back in 1987. Oh the memories!

  • The Lead Singer was in School Daze doing the Hair Song

  • Yes, she was-and I remember that well. Then I did not hear from her after that.

  • I vaguely remember this song. They had nice voices what happened?

  • You're asking the same questions I ask.

  • dis was my jam i actually met michael delorenzo along time ago

  • Man...I loved this song and cassette in 86 or 87!. They had a few great songs on that cassette and the lead singer had a nice voice. If anyone has their song "Blown Away".....please post it!!!

  • Brownmark From Prince and the Revolution Produced 2 Tracks On This Album. Maybe Prince Wrote One Of Those??

  • I'm still surprised anything pertaining to Prince had anything to do with Teen Dream.

  • Yo! It's Torres from NY Undercover

  • OMG I used to have this album on cassette tape back in the day lol which was not bad. Prince wrote a song on this album which was not bad either. A blast from the past.

  • Really? What's the connection between Prince and these ladies?

  • These ladies were lucky enough to get Prince to write and produce a song for them which is on the same album with this song "Lets Get Busy".

  • Didn't know that. Thanks for the info. I wonder what they are doing now? I know the lead singer, Terry had a small role in "School Daze".

  • No, actually BrownMark, a Prince protegee wrote and produced two songs for the album, Prince did not write any songs.

  • BrownMark was the bass player for Prince & The Revolution.

  • I know, be he had already left Prince when he produced this.

  • BrownMark actually, not Prince, though he was his bass player in the Revolution.

  • True Dat!

I remember watching this video back in 1987, but I had no idea about who the group was. Dang, they had Michael DiLorenzo (from New York Undercover) as a video puppet.

    Peace :-)

  • on the ipod right now..

  • I knew I seen this video before. I thought I was bugging out.

  • Kool Didn't No There Was A Video To This. Who Knew MICHAEL D Had Some Great Vocals, They Should Have Had Him In The Vid Singing Instead That Weird Cartoon. 8}

  • OMGoodness!!! I haven't seen this since I don't know when!!!! Thanks for posting. Man, Oh the memories!

  • you're welcome

  • OOH those lips and pretty brown eyes of his!!

  • is this on a 80's movie .. it sounds lik it

  • Which movie?

  • I didn't know that Teen Dream had an entirely different line up prior to their 1989 album "Games". "Games" is just a 1 tracker in my opinion but that 1 track, "When you find a love", is definitely worth buying the album for. It's one of the most 'slept on' tracks of the 80s. A nice little mid-tempo 2 step gem, but it's mega rare. My google search was fruitless. But worry not, I might post it when I have a bit of time. Great post memyself2k.

  • Thanks, looking forward to it!

  • when you find a love- classic pls post

  • OMG I use to love this group and song! don't think the guy who sing this is from New York Under Cover his name is Valinto if I spelled it right

  • I think he's just a model in this video.

  • It's Valentino :)

And from what I've gathered from the web, he did sing the track just under a fake name. Why? No idea :S

  • It is definitely Michael DeLorenzo singing. If you check the album credits, he is listed under his real name for several tracks! Furthermore, he released his own album just last year called "Rescue Me" and you can hear his voice is the same one!

  • this was the jamm i played this song out.lol thats dude from new york undercover.the lead singer looks like raphael saadiq sister, whats her name?lets get busy holla!!!!!!!!!!

  • THATS THE DUDE FOR NEW YORK UNDERCOVER

  • Shole is!!! lol (Only he's just lip-synching)

  • WOW. Talk about blast from the past. Terry (lead) had such star power...happy to learn from the posts here that she has a current contract! To answer an earlier post: the group did have a 2nd album but it was all new members. That album was called "Games," and it was on the Muscle Shoals label (blues & country music! ha!).

  • Thanks for the info. I had no idea they had a second album, not to mention, new members and be on a country and blues label. Who knew?

  • Terry also played one of the "Jiggaboos" in Spike's Lee's, "School Daze".

  • great suggestion,im glad you posted, this brings back memories!

  • You're welcome.

  • teen dream had another hit on the same album(without you)anyone got it or know where i can find this song?its a piece of my youth.

  • Try to find it on ebay because they sell a lot of out of print cds.

  • One of the Best Trio's of the 80's. I was wondering if the song"Slip Slide" was ever made into a Video.

  • I wouldn't know

  • I remember this song. The best time of my life in the early 80's and into the early 90's.Thanks for posting this song.

  • You're welcome.
