I love the Stones, but it's undeniable that they were VERY rusty... Just compare this version, to the one on Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out... The difference is abysma
@LucianoGallagher Wtf you mean ..."rusty"?!! I think its a lot of power and sex in this version -I like the slow tempo ... ok Mick J:s voice rusty in the refrains... otherwise : Outstanding!!! Honky T 1st time live, and Stones hadnt giged for a long time- so all flaws excused!
I was there too!arrived the night before and camped there, the police let us stay rather than have fans roaming around all night. It was damn hot and a lot fainted, the STONES sounded great to us then, but watching the video in later years they were pretty awful on the day.The guy dancing in the german helmet was hilarious,I can see myself on the video too:>)
Out of sync, not well recorded and somehow fails to convey the atmosphere- but I was there... and enjoyed it very much. The sun was shining and this was Mick Taylors first gig with the band. All of this is very well known unless you are so young that you are speculating about where the concert was held(see below). A week or so later in Hyde Park Blind Faith were unveiled... better musically but without the attitude. Crazy days indeed.
Hyde Park in London or San Jose Cali? I'm guessing London but I knew I heard of it before. Never been to London though but in San Jose they hold the 4th of July celebrations. Hmm.. Irony. 4th of July and England :D
Stones in Gothenburg 1972: When the concert started everybody freaked out – including security crew – so for about 5 minutes you could just rush forward; get a much better place. The guards were like paralyzed!! Immense heavy vibes from The Stones – then. One of the best concerts I’ve ever seen : ) (now they are like their own ghosts –a sad bunch)
i heard a guy about 40 years old (now he'd be 50) say that the women back in his day werent as hot as the ones nowdays in the 20th ... but those ladies in the beggining of the video all look just as pretty as modern day women in there 20s in my opinion

@platuner Wrong. What made The Rolling Stones stand out from all the hundreds of other rock bands around at that time was the fact they were the Rolling Stones.
No one's probably gonna read this, but I’ll say it anyway cuz I feel at least 1 person will. I'm a young designer and graffiti artist, I know there's a million out there but I feel like my art has a unique individual style.

It's not as fake as some music we can hear today and people didn't seem to care about stupid things like we do. Maybe I'm not right, and maybe that if i was born in those years i wouldn't say it was so extraordinary, but that's just how i feel when i listen to this.
@pandurate I Wish good music will make a comeback . I have to listen to music from differnt generations because my generation music sucks!( Not like its torture or anything but i wish i could like at least a few mainstream songs BUT I CANT BEcause the "MUSiC" Sucks so bad!

@terryjohn i understand it was a tough period but at the same time, for me, that didn't experience those years, everything seems more real there. It's not as fake as some music we can hear today and people didn't seem to care about stupid things like we do. Maybe I'm not right, and maybe that if i was born in those years i wouldn't say it was so extraordinary, but that's just how i feel when i listen to this.

@pandurate this is not pop. It's blues, rock and a little bit of country.

@keeffan49 Sorry for the transgression but I simply meant "popular music", i.e. that having a wide-ranging appeal which the Stones and this song did.
pandurate 3 months ago
@pandurate good. If you want to hear some good new music listen to the raconteurs and foo fighters.

@pandurate I Wish good music will make a comeback . I have to listen to music from differnt generations because my generation music sucks!( Not like its torture or anything but i wish i could like at least a few mainstream songs BUT I CANT BEcause the "MUSiC" Sucks so bad!
