  • The noise sounds truly obnoxious. I would never trust any promises by any company if it isn't in a written contract. Has the problem been resolved now?

  • Chesapeake has delayed or refused to complete other purchases in that region as well, the lawsuit states.

“Chesapeake has convinced numerous leasehold owners in Michigan to sell leases to Chesapeake instead of other prospective purchasers, and then manufactured alleged title defects or other alleged justification not to close the agreements after discovering negative information concerning the zones within the Collingwood range,” according to the lawsuit.

  • Thank You TXsharon ;) I follow your website, and i totally sympathise with you. Refusing the shale gas is obvious. People that pretend it isn't are brainless, or belong to the gas campanies.

I hope the best for you :)

    excuse my poor english :p

  • @vgagnard

    Never mind that froggy talk.

  • When gas is flared, there are no more toxic chemicals. That is why it is flared. If it wasnt flared, then those gases could be hazardous, but when lit, it is perfectly safe. Hence the whole point of "flaring" it.

  • @spellbiff Oh really? So, it's perfectly safe and there are no toxics? Then why did Schlumberger release this study: Towards Zero Flaring: "An important issue in protecting the environment of the Gulf, which is no less fragile than elsewhere in the world, is the effect of hydrocarbon flaring from oil and gas production. This causes many forms of pollution--noise, toxic gases, soot, acid rain and the production of carbon dioxide..." Stop believing your industry's propaganda!

  • @TXsharon Last I heard, the biggest "USER" of carbon dioxide is PLANT LIFE!! They need it to live. Plants, trees, etc. THRIVE on "CARBON DIOXIDE!!" They turn it into OXYGEN. Schlumberger most likely released that garbage to keep the government off of their back. What "TOXIC" gases are produced from flaring..since you seem to know so much. Tell us Sharon. Which "truly TOXIC" gasses are they? And Noise pollution in the gulf???....SERIOUSLY?? It is the middle of the friggin ocean!

  • @spellbiff Dude, I didn't write any of that. Schlumberger wrote every word so maybe you should ask them about the toxic gas since it was and industry study. Really, you need to back off on the industry propaganda and dig a little deeper. Google Towards Zero Flaring. It's an industry study. I've found that industry studies are the most condemning.

  • @TXsharon Okay, first off, you realize they are burning gas. You know those heaters in your house? Guess what it's burning? Chesapeake is a good company, back off.

  • @sombersolitude Because of the horrible impacts people are facing in shale drilling areas, I do not use natural gas. Period. Chesapeake is NOT a good company. they have caused great harm to many people and they operate in an irresponsible manner. I will never back off.

  • flaring sweet gas with no h2s content has virtually no effect on the surrounding areas. the produced water or oil gets stored and truck out to a disposal well . sour flaring does produce so2 a by product of h2s or the have ingredient in matches . . i bet anythin nobody here would haul firewood all winter to heat your 2 million dollar house . my solution to the problem is dont worry about it . flaring and well testing will go on until theres no gas in the ground maybe learn to accept it

  • @dakka420 Um, not so. We have air tests showing what is released during flaring and I have industry documents admitting how damaging it is to our air. We reject your solution, but thanks anyway.

  • Flaring is an essential paer of us heating your house, running your car, making your shoes.....infact creating a life for you. Your welcome for flaring like that everyday of my life.

  • @mtbiker4870 No it's not! Google this industry document by Schlumberger: Toward Zero Flaring.

  • @TXsharon You don't know the first thing about the industry. Everything you say makes you sound dumber. Flaring is essential.

  • Actually, I'm a very well informed mineral owner.

  • You flare the well to convert the methane into water and co2. Not exactly all that toxic. Natural gas is mostly hydrogen. This is not different than what is going to happen to it when it gets to its end used. You clowns ASSuming thing should do a little research.

  • @jereomen That may be what they tell you so you'll keep working for them but it's not the truth. Go look at the Schlumberger study "Toward Zero Flaring." Here's a quote:

"An important issue in protection the environment...is the effect of hydrocarbon flaring... This causes many forms of pollution--noise, toxic gasses, soot, acid rain..."

  • You have NO idea how to complete a well, much less "Green Complete" a well. Half of your videos show "contaminated" water on the ground, which is in fact saltwater about the same concentration as the Dead Sea or the Great Salt Lakes. As far as flaring goes...umm lets see you don't like it vented into the air, so they burn it off and that still isn't good enough. You must be a scorned woman.

  • @SuperNk1978

I just ignored all your other ignorant comments on my videos but your comment about produced water that you like to call saltwater has me LOLing. We've tested that stuff so I know what's really in it. Besides just a little saltwater can kill all vegetation and ruin drinking water. I think you must be an oil field worker who chooses to believe the crap your employer tells you. Wonder why it's the most dangerous occupation, why they die early & have high cancer rates?

  • Chesapeake is the real enemy here at home.

  • I attended a big Town Hal meeting last Thursday where several officials from TCEQ and TRC talked about going to drilling sites and monitoring for emissions. Part of their monitoring process, according to THEM, is using their nose. I've been to plenty of gas well sites so I know what it smells like. Sometimes it's odorless but not always. Do your research.

  • smell of gas would knock you to your knees???...natural gas is oderless. they add the smell to it later for safety purposes. not when it comes out of the ground

  • @bigblockpwr OH! Okay. I guess the TCEQ will be happy to hear that. They can forget about their new 12 hour odor response rule.

  • @TXsharon do your research

  • Oh. Okay. lol

  • Here is something for all to know TXsharon is a royalty owner she is taking all the $ they giver her... wonder why she doesn't give it back?? After all it is dirty tainted money!!!!

  • @ikieone Ahm, I'm going to give the money back to the operator so they can rake in even more profit??? Riiight.

  • It's hilarious how industry folks who think they know everything show their complete ignorance of the latest health science in these comments. Flaring is full of toxic compounds, including Products of Incomplete Combustion. And besides living near one, it's the cumulative effect of hundreds and thousands of such flares going on that are also a public health threat.

  • um, do you even know why they flared on this occasion? do you even know why they flare period?

  • @Kryptonite357

um, they flared because it's cheaper than green completions. That's why.

  • Just my $.02:

What are you REALLY concerned with? Your video makes it out to be about two things -- noise pollution and toxic emissions. If it is the toxic emissions that you are worried about, then worry about something other than Barnett Shale natural gas, as it is very low in both sulfur and carbon dioxide content -- even straight from the well without any processing. Ever wonder why you don't see any amine treating units in your area?

  • You might want to check the result of the recent ambient air quality studies because you are dead wrong.

  • But, what about the benzene & carbon disulphide? Dish TX has both of those at dangerous levels. And, don't tell me the horrid line about benzene being dangerous as Formula 409. Check the MSDS's some time!

  • So the inflammatory comments about acid rain are invalid for the case in hand. Now, if you are worried about noise pollution you have more of a valid point. Flaring high pressure gas is very loud, as is purging. However, being around oil, gas, and petrochemical industry for my career as a chemical engineer, I think you should be more realistic about how significant flaring actually is as a contribution.

  • I agree that the industry as a whole should strive to be more friendly to the environment. However, I would also point out that if you are hunting for heads in this industry, Chesapeake should be far from the top of your list.

I really feel that NIMBYism is your problem. You want the benefits of an energy resource, so long as the downsides don't occur "in your back yard", so to speak.

  • Take a look at the benzene & carbon disulphide levels around Dish, TX. They have it posted at their web site. Yet, the technology to control those releases is there.

  • TXsharon u souldnt try to be intelligent about the oil and gas feild cause u cant pull it off. do u know wat flaring is cause in the rest of ur vids u dont know wat ur talking about! im just saying if u should learn more!

  • Thanks for the eloquently phrased advice.

  • milkman what joke free speech , check you history heating home has been around for ever, cant use your braln just threaten a girl you pussy, you must be a republican

  • Everybody needs a cause huh.....?? Let me ask you... Do you have a car? Does your house have electricity? Do you shop at a grocery store? Naw surley not. I bet you ride a horse, live in the dark, chop your own wood, drink water from the crystal clear trinity river, and grow your own food. Let it go there is nothing green about anybody and there never will be for the rest of our existence.

  • Let me get this straight: Because I drive a car, use electricity and shop at a grocery store, I am forced to accept the dirty practices of this industry rather than working to make them implement the available technologies to clean up their act and protect the environment.

    Is that right?

  • You are obviously not forced into doing any of these things you stated, how about you come up with the know all end all solution to this problem, then lobby congress for years to get it changed to this new miracle practice of yours. Then you can protest all you want. and Mark keep your nose wher it belongs, in your own ass you fucking liberal twat. I'll break your jaw too little micheal moore. faggot

  • until you come up with the concept of a vehicle that runs on something other than fossil fuels, or like mtbiker said when you can heat your own house to keep your children alive w/o using fossil fuels, you have no right to protest the ones supplying you with those fuels. they take inherent dangers themselves just drilling this holes and maintaining them...

  • TXsharon you're an idiot, remove this video before i remove your jaw

  • Don't hate the company for helping you have a warm place to sleep and the means to get to work everyday. You oil/gas industry haters are out of your minds if think that this is a destructive process. This well is not sour = 0% s02 emmisions. It is burning cleaner than your mo-ped does.

  • This is a natural gas flare which produces next to no emmisions. There is no place in North America where oil is flared. All of the oil would be caught in a test seperator and then sent to get refined via truck. After the test was complete the well would be tied into a pipeline and everything would then be sent to the plant via the pipeline. This is not a video of harmful emmisions...it is a necessary task done to ensure that you all have heat for your homes and gas for your cars.

  • It's not necessary and it's not clean. It certainly does have toxins in the harmful emissions. The operators can and should do a better job of protecting our environment. You are an apologist for a dirty industry.

  • You obviously know very little about this subject.

  • Then why don't you enlighten me.

  • Actually, where I work most fracs are flown inline without flaring. It justs costs alot to set up the facilities but the canadian oil patch has lots of cash!

  • I'm not sorry about anything I have done. Without guys like me you would be naked and cold.

  • A man with no regrets is either someone who has lead an exemplary life which I can see from your profile you haven't or someone incapable of introspection.

  • So, you too dislike sexy women I see. Me, I love them. I love sexy women with nice bodies. If you have a problem with sexy women then mabey you should get off your lazy ass and do some sort of exercise. And you brought that on yourself honey....I am here about gas flaring - not my webpage. get a life and make a difference..otherwise you are nothing more than a spectator. Now say something relevant ok.....................I'm waiting.

  • Don't try to be intelligent. You can't pull it off.

  • Oh listen up baby, I have enough IQ to put your little green peace brain in the dirt. I am not your typical oil patch roughneck. I can out speak you on this particular subject.......try me. We will see where intelligence dropped you in the dirt and elevated me through the statosphere. There is very little you can say that I won't thrive in....as I say - I am far from typical. I was mearly keeping it simple so you would not get lost.....fair game now babe. PS - How about propane fracs?

  • Oh.

    I. am. humbled. in. your. presence.

  • You are really getting off topic sweety.....All I have said to you is facts. Now, you are humbled. It just goes to show how little you do actually know on this subject. I bet my bowel movements have more brains than you on this particular subject. Get a life honey. PS - What are your thoughts on the new packer plus techniques? And the propane fracs? How about the frac oil fracs and perf ball fracs? How about phazer fracs and coiled tubing fracs using jet wash technology? Water fracs?

  • if they let the raw gas go into your presteen clean air of the dfw area witch was o so clean before the barnet drilling , you gripe about that to . I guess your gona block me from ressponding to this one too.... post video proof of all the devistation you speak of instead of clean almost carbon free gas flame burning in the night

  • You might want to read up on the chemicals released during flaring. Flaring has caused acid rain in Nigeria.

  • hahahaha. u missunderstud them, that is not a gas well flow test, they are just cooking some marshmellows..... those F***** liers!

  • those f****** liers
