@mrsgreen1432 ask him how in the hell they came up with this. Wetre they just jammin or what. Its really good and some was sampled by Black Milk. Magnificent from Black Rock and Black Milk
I can't get enough of this track, yet I can't find any information on what band this is and I need to get more of their music. Does anyone know anything about this Blackrock??? And maybe where I can DL or purchase some of their music?
Listen...I´m, sittin in cabin in the north part of norway and banging my head all by myself. I feel dragged down to the darkest corner in the VIP-basement of funk by a parliament-ish intuition, and my gohd! Send the opium, I´m never gonna leave!! This is so strong and universal vibing that Brian Bennet will put the name of the game label on this rather than his own dittie (which still is a phat outcome...)
This is my first time hearing this joint and I'm completely captivated. I've been out of society (reasons beyond my control) for a minute now so I have gotten lost amongst the hip pop terrain. Can anyone suggest some real music for me to explore (producers, artists, whatever, all genre)? Respect.
@tupd check out the expressions, el michels affair, the sound stylistics, Galt Macdermot. for that real hip hop check out binary star, the last emperor, dilated peoples, apathy and louis logic (of the Demigodz), AOTP, Jedi Mind Tricks, chief kamachi, blue sky black death, 9th wonder, RJD2, cut chemist, DJ Shadow. welcome back.
@DoctorSess Good looks doc, with all the bullshit out of the way now I can dive in mind first, starting with Binary Star. What have you been listening to these days?
!!!!!!!! I've been searching daily for this 45. My pal from Memphis played the keys for Black Rock. His name is Archie and he is the Step Son of the late Drummer/Producer of Countless Hits-Willie Mitchell. He was on a bunch of the Al Green LPs cut in the 70's. From what Archie told me I gathered this band was formed basically to close out the Fillmore Venue opening for the Frank Zappa and the Mothers. Anyway, big ups on the find. I have it on a Compilation from Stax called Memphis 70.
Oddly, one of the first 45's I bought when I started collecting, back when I was buying p-funk and jb records. Lucky find and definitely in that early Funkadelic mold.
I don't know which is rarer, the original 45 of this tune, or the "Chains and Black Exhaust" compilation that came and went like a flash back in 2002.
wow, this shit is smokin hot
