Her second vault was a Yurchenko arabian (Hristakieva), which she used as her 1st vault at 96 Nationals.

She also did it during the warmups for TF in Atlanta.

And I feel it's highly unlikely Kerri had a shot at the AA podium...but with all the mistakes that were made crazier things have happened!

This is compulsories, so everyone was doing this vault. She did her 1.5 in the team final.

That vault was HUGE. One of the best in compulsories, no doubt.

I'm not sure she could have won event finals outright, as I'm not sure I've seen Kerri compete a second (different) vault since '93 or so - and it was a simple handspring front tuck.

you didn't see her do a different vault like that since '93 because that was COMPULSORIES, everyone did the same compulsory vault, her optional and finals vault would be her Yurchenko with 1 1/2 twists, one of the most difficult being performed back then.  She could have won finals and made top 3 in AA if she hadn't gotten hurt.

Kerri didn't have a strong optional (2nd) vault is what the poster was saying (and that's true).

Amanar had an amazing double twisting Yurchenko, but her Phelps was a laugh. If she had a different colored leotard on, it would have scored in the 9.5's at best.
