Hi, if you use the roland cube on acoustic option with the same guitar, it seams normal(like unplugged)? Or this cube dont work for acoustic guitars just eletrical.
@guibrvid: the same guitar sounds different on other settings...
you can try it on "acoustic", "jc clean", "black panel", "brit combo", "classic stack" or "r-fier" option (the last is selected on this video)
for standard sounds (like unplugged) for an acoustic guitar you can select "acoustic" settings. but also "jc clean" and "black panel"... you have only to try your best sounds, trying different setting of master volume and gain level
If you do this with a typical magnetic soundhole-mounted pickup, it really just sounds like a hollow-body electric. I find it to be a good recording tool for rhythm guitar crunch on low-wattage amps. It has a lot of texture and multi-dimensional character.
Great job man! Kicks ass. Just wondering, though: were there any sort of humming and/or feedback noises when you first tried the acoustic guitar on distortion? If there was any of these, what did you do to make it sound better?
I wish I could have heard more but the video is too short. I wanted to hear what all of the sounds are capable of producing on the acoustic guitar with microcube like classic, grunge, brit-combo, clean, tremalo etc.
no, it doesnt do anything to the guitar. its just a pickup. think of it as putting a little microphone in the guitar. that's basically all it is, just a pickup
My guitar (CORT MR500) is an electro-acoustic: it comes with a piezoelectric bridge pickup, a symple preamp (powered by a 9V battery hidden into the soundhole) with controls for volume, treble and bass, and a socket for direct plug in one end of a guitar cable.
What is the amp generally like for use with an electro acoustic? I need a practice amp and play both electic and electro acoustic..will this amp do for both?..Thanks
The best for acoustic sounds (but too much expensive for me) is the AER ACOUSTICUBE IIA...
But, if you need a practice amp and you play both electric and electroacoustic guitar you can find full satisfation with the cheaper Roland Microcube. It has only 2 watt RMS but it sounds very loud and I think it's the best choiche for playing at home. The Microcube sounds with his AC adapter or with only six AA 1,5V batteries (24 hours playing granted) and it is realy portable. Bye bro
you using an electric acoustic right?

how can you get distorsion on acoustic?
soloboy1991 3 years ago
I simply connected it to my roland microcube (r-fier mode) with almost full gain.
I think it would be nice with a classic guitar and a Piezoelectric pickup too.
thanx bro

Distortion on an acoustic gets an automatic 5 rating. Bam.

That would sound fantastic with the gain bumped down quite a bit. I love crunchy acoustic sound.
