  • NO SHIT you DUMBFUCKS! They planned on you falling for the "going out of business sale" just like you fall for and WILLINGLY pay AT LEAST 10% more in stores than online on TAX ALONE. Ebay prices are liquidation prices EVERYDAY compared to retail mark up such as Worst Buy (except for cell phones). Keep takin your recommended NWO daily dose of aspartame, fluoride, and MSG. I get annoyed but I actually feel sorry for the helpless masses of people...I really do.

  • Come and Check out this Bomb video Inside of Circuit City and some of the Awesome things that use to go on from drinkin beer on the job to Fuckin around and why it Sucked that we went out of buisness

  • *Yummy* that Asian chick is *Hawt*

I want my balls to go bankrupt on her face

  • I used to work at Circuit City. In fact, i worked on 9/11, and this does not surprise me. Corporate management was just downright horrible.

  • no we weren't... we ROCKED!!

  • You, you rocked so much, CC is now out of business.

  • nah, not really....i never worked there. i lied.

  • "nah, not really....i never worked there. i lied."

    Your lies rock!!!

  • @truesilverman That's not Circuit City though. That's the liquidator's pricing. When Ultimate Electronics had a going out of business sale, their TV prices jumped etc.

  • I worked at Circuit the day the liquidation prices changed. I used to put out the price tags every morning before the stores opened on the new weeks. The last tags we put out on tv's were $500-900 cheaper than the ' regular ' liqudation prices. The liquidation company made us sign confidental papers and told us to reprint ' their ' circuit city prices. On top of that, the homeless people they hired to hold the signs outside were making more money than us inside were making hourly.

  • Who ever thinks that they are going to get any kind of "super discount" during the first half of a liquidation sale is a moron. period. Everyone knows how the game is played but i guess we just like to hear ourselves whine and cry on prime time news. Boo Hoo... go piss and moan to some one else because the public is tired of listening to it.

  • at first they should of had eveything 65 percent off.

  • Radio Shack=Lance Pharmstrong, lying, witness tampering & fraud.

Circuit City was a crappy retailer though too.

  • Circuit City 100% fraud top to bottom.

Lance pharmstrong is an HGH, IGF-1, EPO, packed red cells, cow blood spun, anabolic steroids creation designed by the media to sell Nike sneakers and cell phones.

  • Whoa, came across this video and did not expect it to be recorded from 6ABC outta Philly!!! Props to Nydia Han and 6ABC from Allentown!!!! Love the station! Anyway, I do agree with what the report said. It may not be Circuit City's fault. As they mentioned, they did allow 4 separate liquidation companies to take over. Of course, these companies were in it for the money so it was no surprise that they jacked up the prices on Circuit City's merchandise.

  • Hahaha, I have the exactly the same sony laptop which I actually bought from Circuitcity only I bought it during last years xmas for 799.

  • HAHA suck for them, I only bough video games and I knew how much they cost.

  • to the showroom floor. So yes, 10 percent, 20 percent, or 30 percent off was actually more than what we had previously sold the products for prior to liquidation.

  • As a previous Circuit City employee, this video is partially correct. Agreed, the bargains were bullshit. However, it pissed me off to no end because CIRCUIT CITY AS A COMPANY HAD NO CONTROL OVER IT.

When our business shut down, other liquidation companies came into our stores to provide the "discounts." The reason you found these prices cheaper elsewhere were because...

1)Liquidators place every item in the stores back up to original retail price from whenever the product was introduced to...

  • They sell everything at ORIGINAL MSPR or manufacturers suggested retail price. A car for instance might have a MSRP of 17 thousand but total out to 16.3 after all is said and done, because the MSRP factors in a certain percentage of profit over what is needed to pay for the idem.

  • You have to be a smart shopper to catch these things. I bought some DVD's and CD's that were indeed deals when you factor in the cost of shipping online. But there was only a handful of things in the whole store that were worth it.

  • some people are fucking morons. Whenever they see the "Going out of business sale" they rush in buying everything off without even doing a research. Its CC, they are NOT going to lower their prices by $100s of dollars, they still need to make money, they will lower but not too low. Learn business people, nobody in their right mind would slash their prices more than CC did during close out.

  • LOL...liquidation tactics!

I was there watching people buy multiple TVs impulsively that i knew where over $300 cheaper at other stores...even with circuit city's 10+% off

    No joke

I also was chatting with the workers and they thought it was sad too.

Im glad I knew the prices at other places.

  • Well, all I know is that I got the Fallout 3 collector edition for 53, SSBB for 17, burnout Paradise for 16 and Guitar hero Aerosmith for 10. I am happy, but I do agree that they raised prices for their larger electronic appliances. I am pretty sure that the Office Depot in my area was guilty of the same thing, I bought an electric stapler from them for 18 which they had as $83 originally... I probably saved 10 dollars on it still though. I did shop on the last day of sales

  • Despite all the warnings that local media gave, people still went in there expecting a better deal.

When you see the MSRP and the liquidation price there is always a difference. But what a lot of people didn't realize is that they don't normally put the MSRP price on a shelf label along with the regular price.

Not even the fixtures, phones, safes or shelving items were good deals.

I found it funny that they were also selling their Christmas tree and spare plumbing parts for their toilets.

  • wow they kinda suck dont they?

  • ok, i found an xbox 360 elite for $299.99 at circuit city and $399.99 at best buy. NOT EVERYTHING IS SCAMMING YOU. yes they raise the prices just to take of 10 or 20%, but some items aren't raised like that. I have to say, BEST BUY ALL THE WAY!

  • From my own experience I can say that its a load of nonsense. I did go in to BestBuy, but when I saw somethng I would want I would go check out Circuit City. They were usually cheaper.

And what is the big deal here. Too lazy to look around before you buy anything?

Too bad they're gone. Always good to have competition.

  • same difference, they both hire less than qualified staff, from experience, I went to have an aftermarket stereo system installed in my Infiniti M35, but once my little brother told me he recognized both someone from best buy and circuit city, and said they both were stoners, I chose that both were not the way to go, not that I think they are bad people, I would rather have someone who can pass a drug test working on my hard earned vehicle. BTW the local Circuit City lost a suit via bad install

  • who fucking cares?

  • and pll wonder y bestbuy won

  • CIRCUITCITY SUCKS BALLLLLLS

  • and STAY down

  • this is because best buy sells bootleg. (im serious, research it.)

  • sells what bootleg?

  • mostly games, anything not xbox 360 or ps3. also a few other things, my friend's camera was identified as bootleg. so i cant say what exactly, but definitely games. movies too probably.

  • ...well, i stil buy it

  • ok so? thats your choice.

  • Circuit City was ok, it was great though going to Best Buy and if they didn't have what i was looking for Circuit City usually did. But all electronics are over priced as it is but to mark the prices higher, and call it a liquidation, that is just wrong.

  • NO SHIT THEY ARE GOING TO BE HIGH! This is so stupid. Of course the prices are going to be high. The liquidators control all the prices and start them at 10% off original price. Circuit had nothing to do with any of these prices when liquidation started. People want a "bargain" and say things like "I expect these prices to be lower" They do become lower when everything is sold out and you end up buying a display model. When Circuit was in business they had the best deals.

  • I'm kinda glad circuit City is gone. I tried to apply for a job at my local circuit city back in October 2007. I knew it would be kinda hard to work there because I am disabled but I figured I should give it a shot. I applied and was told they would contact me in a week. They never did. So I had to keep calling till I got an interview. Then after it they told me they would call to tell me my hours. They never did. I had to keep calling for that to. Only to find out all spots were full.

  • wow...that's a bunch of crap...to tell ya the truth...i've never liked circuit city...the prices there were always higher than best buy and other retailers...to those that say that they had deals...what deals?! what kind of store is it when you can bargain for the prices?! obviously things were marked WAY up.

  • R.I.P CIRCUIT CITY...RESt In PEace

  • It did close down dumbasses, I hate how people assume bullcrap.

  • Nothing drives me more nuts then when im getting yelled at about a price or policy. Im there to share my knowledge of the product and that is it!!!!

  • I worked for circuit city for 2yrs and i do agree that it was a shady company in certain aspects of the way the business was ran however circuit actually had no control over the liquidation prices, that was all set by the liquidator. And for all of you who had a bad experience with an associate at BB or circuit needs to remember that we are there to share our knowledge of computers, Tvs etc. as far as policies we have no control so rememebr that when ur upset over a return policy or warranty

  • What is this all about??? Best buy and CC was overpriced everyday. I hate them. (thats what you get for cheatin on people CC)I like Amazon better without taxes and shipping :P

  • if CC was SO much better why they go out of business and why is Best Buy still in business? Overall circuit went downhill in 2002 when they quit paying knowledgeable employees commission and switched to paying morons an hourly rate. Overall even back then BB was still better according to stock prices and overall profit. YOU CANNOT compare walmart to any except maybe kamrt or the dollar store, i mean come on!!!

  • tho i thought it would be cheaper for liquidation, it wasnt but still circuit city > best buy. Best buy is always expensive some items might be higher or lower but most of the items are cheaper and better at circuit city. and lets go 4get it was Christmas time around the closing as well.

  • CC had awesome selection, but EVERY time I went there the employees were STUPID and DID NOT CARE-- even before they were going out of business!

The employees at Best Buy are much better.

  • This stupid report is a scam! Best Buy only marked their prices down lower than Circuit City's while CC was liquidating. When CC wasn't liquidating, they still had lower prices than BB. BB really is a crappy store. Everything their costs more than other places, but it's all that is left for consumer electronics stores anymore. Sure as hell aint going RadioShack because that place SUCKS!!

  • anyone who doesn't price check and then gets screwed, has no one to blame but themselves.

  • is the WPVI 6 abc in Philly

  • The ignorance of the average shopper drives me insane. The moment a store begins the liquidation process, like everyone has already stated products are marked up to the MSRP. And as long as ignorant shoppers continue to flood the store, and buy merchandise at whatever the cost is, they are going to continue to sell at that price. Liquidators are not Non-Profit organizations. They want your money, and if your willing to give it to them at a higher cost, they're going to take it.

  • This a commercial for Best Buy - Best Buy is the most overpriced retailer I have ever encountered. I will NEVER purchase a product from Best Buy as I have saved literally THOUSANDS buying the same products elsewhere. CC always had better prices than BB!!

  • I couldnt agree with you more! CC sold dvd's for $2.99 before and BB had the same ones for $6.99! BB SUCKS! CC was an amazing store that really will be missed by smart shoppers everywhere!

  • yeah and thats why they went bankrupt

  • The Circuit City Website Said There Gonna Open There Website In The "Coming Weeks"

  • Circuit city is a dump.

  • people are so fucking stupid i used to work at cc and we had better sales before the liquidation. thats what a liquidator company does they bring everything back up to retail price and knock off 10% when just the week before you could have bought the same thing for 25 to 30% off the retail price thats how these liqiudator companies make money. they know that people are mindless drones that come running when they hear liquidation, going out of business, or store closing. cc wasnt ripping you off

  • I bought 2 things from circuit city's closing sale.

    Sony 7" digital picture frame= CC- $60, Walmart- $129

    Sony 50mm f/2.8 macro lens= CC-$240, Sony- $479

not arguing with this video, but there were still plenty of great deals to be had

  • I worked at CC. After the liquidation company took over they raised the Circuit city price up to the msrp prices and then they took off the "discount percentage" so its not "Circuit Cities" prices any how. Oh well Im out of job now so fuck it.

  • Circuit city was an amazing store, R.I.P.

  • the only good thing about CC closing down was that it forced me into their store to use my old CC gift card from like 3 years ago.

  • try my compliant that fucking store said they mailed my 150 mail in rebate before jan 20 and now its april and i still never got my money. now im pissed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • they are SOB :D

  • circuit city has always been a lame store. staff are always messing around, not paying attention to customers or seem deadbeat like they dnt wanna be there.

  • I got ripped off during the sale. I bought a tripod, with a "30 percent discount," but it was a display model and missing parts. When I went online I discovered the same model NEW, for the same price as what I bought it. And now I can't return it. Learn from my mistake...don't buy damaged merchandise at "liquadation" sales.

  • thanks ;)

  • Got a Nintendo Wii for $199.99 at Circuit City. Thats good for me!!!

  • terrible quality

  • well working at Circuit City. People dont get it because the discounts come off of original prices or MSRP. Not off of what cricuit city. and at newcastle ur retarded cuz thats not what we did, on a daily basis we had very comparable prices if not lower. Trust me worked at CCity, Best Buy and now frys Ccity was always the lowers

  • Very true, the black Friday before we found out we were closing the doors, were much better deals. At least in MA it was easily the slowest Black Friday at CCity. However you say 10% the ignorant Masses think there's going to be a deal. heh..

  • people are so stupid since circuit city is being liquidated they are no longer circuit city prices! they are discount prices off of the liquidators pricing.

  • The news would have this segment to warn people too ignorant to realize what's going on or to make people who already shopped there realized that they fell for the trick.

I was actually hoping there were less sucker so that the good stuff would still be left but with lower prices.

  • I have heard form a reliable source that Circuit City started going down the toilet after a CEO decided all the lower management employees (people who work in the store) were making too much, so he fired all them, got inexperienced labor and paid them less so he could get a larger bonus at the end of the year for saving the company money. Hmm, sounds like all the worlds dumbest CEOs are not all at AIG.

  • The CEOs aren't really dumb though, it's actually smart to do that. It's just that they're greedy and heartless.

  • as a former employee of circuit city from 2004-2006, I can say that your scenario is pretty much what happened. A lot of really good salesmen were making a lot of money(grandfathered in from when they made commission, not hourly wages) were all fired from my area and then some were re-hired 1-2 months later at a much lower pay rate. We (circuit city) were getting our @sses kicked buy best buy before that though, so it was already going down the drain.

  • Yea I have a nick name for him. Philip Jackass Screwover. I worked for the company for 10 fucking years in the douglasville ga store #884 and was #1 in the district racking up over 3 million in proffits by my self. I took a pay cut which was voluntary going to hourly vs commision and guess what Fuckover came and personally laid me off. I say Fuck him and Do not work for a company if he is ceo.

  • Its ok Philip and all the other CEO's CFO's and other top exectives got their millions, they can retire. Meanwhile all 50,000 store employees are fucked over. Fuck you Phil you worthless piece of shit.

  • Who cares, they're gone anyways. Just like CompUSA, Montgomery Ward, and the like.

  • Wrong. Circuit City is back they were purchased by sysmax who owns compusa, tiger direct and now circuit city

  • and again, I say

    "Who cares"

I get all my shit on Newegg.

  • i bought Crysis and it said on tome "PRE-ORDER BONUS"

and thinking that it was the game and i thought that pre-order bonus means it includes not, not limited to it.

they priced me the same amount as i would have if i bought the real crysis. the box didn't come with a game cd. it came with wallpapers, and a tiny poster -_-

also... there 1TB external harddrive cost $229

same EXACT model and company is $119 at Microcenter...

EVEN WITH THE SALE ITS STILL OVERPRICED

  • ok, I'm frustrated with ignorance. The company, "Circuit City" stopped existing on January 16th. Which means these annoying liquidation prices have nothing to do with A: Why they went out of business." or B: Circuit City at all, in any way shape or form. They didn't exist to make those decisions. If you're going to throw hate around then at least get your aim right. If all those people complaining about the high prices were coming in a month before hand, the company would have stayed in business

  • I 100% agree. When any business goes under, they hire liquidators to help get rid of stuff. all they do is take prices back to originals and take %s off of that. they dont make up prices. as for the person who bout that laptop for 799--they probly got it on sale. (yes...that kind of stuff happens in retail) ever heard of price match? that was a possiblity too. this news story was done at the begining of the liq, if they woudlve done 2 or 3 weeks later, they wouldnt have anythin to say

  • what they do is raise the orginal price of the item and then throw on the % discount. thats why that store always fucking sucked, it was always expensive.

  • Smith Furniture in Spokane did the same thing. No deals there. Plus they sold defective & damaged stuff. CC in Boston put damaged HDTV in boxes, no inspections before purchase & no refunds.

  • well I am happy to get the Q Tip exclusive CC cd before they shut down. Thanks to CC for the extra track :) BTW.. they did have some cool stuff that i couldnt fnd at "other places". RIP CC

  • They wanted about $180 for a DISPLAY Garmin Nüvi 200 that can be bought brand new in the box at Wal-Mart for $129.99

  • 1 word F*$&% Best Buy. Always thinking they are the best. Marked down their prices before CC was down so they can look like a good buy. HA HA. You will go down. Best believe that. Firedog Ruled compared to Your Geek Squad. Video taping people. What a laughing stock that was. Anybody that worked there in CC was great. Always gave good service. I dont care what people say about CC. I will always remember the store.

  • I worked at Circuit City in Santa Barbara, CA for 4 years until it closed due to the initial liquidation and then transferred to the store in Oxnard, CA to close out that store as well. The prices were NOT set by Circuit City but were set by the liquidation company that was effectively running the store. It sucks but in most cases the "original price" was indeed what we used to sell the product for. Gonna get flamed for this but I don't really care.

  • I worked in Circuit CIty in Montebello these people are stupid I love how these people think they are all smart when they think Circuit City was expensive. We couldn't control the prices you do know Liquidators took over us so they put the prices w/e they wanted Circuit City was already closed down once we announce we were done. You gave your money to the people that we were in debt for so we didn't screw you you got screw by the banks lol.

  • Those people were scammed because they didn't do their research. Know the price before you buy! The moment I walked into Circuit City, I was not amazed whatsoever. The prices were about the retail price for the items, so I didn't buy. The truth is these businesses can do whatever they want. Don't be scammed, do your homework before you buy. I don't feel bad at all for those people, that's what happens when you buy on impulse. It might take about half an hour to browse the internet before

  • i didnt fall for that

just wait till they have 60-70% off

thats what i did for a digital camera, did my research and got 200 dollar discount off the camera compared to other stores

  • Well that's what they get. They dug their own grave. All these years they just never dropped their prices, they were always cheaper some where else. It's not just Circuit City that had high prices, during liquidations a lot of store closing are doing the same thing. C.C had too many problems anyway with customer service and getting rebate checks from items bought were main problems. They just could not compete by running a business like that.

  • Duh people, whenever somebody is liquidating, they are trying to get the most money possible to pay their debt. Shopping online is almost always cheaper then going to a retail store.

  • Hell, if people had realized that they were getting better deals before they closed, maybe the store wouldn't have tanked.

  • Well... what some people are missing here is that even the Open Box items were marked up to MSRP by the liquidation company because they were product, and that's all the bank cared about. After January 16th Circuit City didn't exist any more, it was a bank owned company that was running the show. I'm actually a little disappointed in this news broadcast because they themselves are even relaying questionable information. If Best buy had gone out of business... you'd see the same exact thing.

  • I went into a Circut City during the liquidation and was not surprised one bit. I saw 2 things: Hundreds of clueless people, and overpriced items. Nothing was a good deal, and I couldnt beleive people were sifting through the leftover garbage as if they were going to find a treasure. Sure, if you consider a new release DVD for $30 a treasure, then have at it! I'll continue to get things online for 40-60% off.

  • another bankrupt story

  • Yeah this is a scam.. I can't believe ppl were falling for this.

They marked everything back up to MSRP.. then brought prices down on top of that, so they were still making money, bankrupt or not.

  • I used to work for Best buy. There policies sucked. I tried to get a promotion, or moved out of my department and they kept stating that they didnt have a full time opening, and when i talked to the supervisor over the department i wanted to go in, he said yes there was a full time opening.

  • We're stuck with Best Buy whom has the worst prices of all. Circuit City's prices weren't only better but they also had better customer service, return policies, repair service, & warranty selections for cheaper. Sure their stores were always more disorganized & rather dark/dirty; also they never had awesome TV ads but that's what kept prices down. I guess they should've added more glam/ polish & perhaps Best Buy would be closing but they chose lower prices & consumers chose polish over value.

  • you are an idiot. i went to circuit city AFTER they announced they are closing doors. their DISPLAY laptops cost more than best buy's NEW IN BOX LAPTOPS. that is exactly why they are going out of business. best buy is better, that is why they are #1 and that is why they aren't getting shut down. the consumer has spoken, get on board.

  • You are the one that needs to get on board! Circuit City had better prices BEFORE the closing door dates. During liquidation, it's not even Circuit City running it's own stores now! It is the banks running the stores that is why the prices raise! The reason why Circuit City went out of business, is because they were making NO money products they sold because they were so close to their cost.

    Research before you speak

  • Yeah... Best Buy does is over priced! Prepare to see the prices rise even higher since there will be NO competition now.......

    Order online..

  • haha, there never WAS any competition. thats why circuit city does not exist. what better research do i need than to walk into one store than walk into another? in fact, i dont even NEED to speak. the speaking has been done, and you are the weakest link. goodbye!

  • ok i dont think this news company gets what a liquidation is they try to the most money they can and you cant blame circuit city or even call it circuit city because the liquidators own all of the stores

I did get some good deals such as cod5 pc for 35 and gta 4 pc for 30

when circuit city stores were circuit city stores they almost all there prices were cheaper than best buy

If you want to know the true company that rips you off its best buy

I have always found the best deals at MICROCENTER

  • is ANYBODY sad that pos is gone?

  • It's not good for Circuit Ciity to fail. Now Best Buy has no competition except for a few local retailers.

  • Really, if you're so disappointed and betrayed that liquidation prices weren't the steal you were hoping they would be, you're just a vulture and I have no sympathy for you.

  • lol I checked for a game and circuit city saidit was 30 percent off but it was double the price.lol number 1 reason they failed, dont know the ,market price

  • "number 1 reason they failed, dont know the ,market price"

Circuit City as a company ceased to exist once they started liquidating and all prices were set by the liquidator. So please remove your head from your ass, you don't know why Circuity City failed.

  • That's how it works they jack they price up and then clam a sale to make you think you got a good price when they would sell it for the price you would normally pay on a non-sale day.

  • "they jack they price up and then clam a sale to make you think you got a good price"

They don't "jack up" the prices, they just removed all sale prices and discounted from the MSRP, which is higher, but it was just used as a standard for liquidation. Plenty of items that never go on sale were discounted as well. If you were a smart shopper, you'd know what to buy and what not to buy from a liquidator.

  • Also as a consumer you have to know your prices(know how much the item is selling elsewhere-in retail stores and online) so that way when an items claims to be liquidated you know that it really isn't. Most people I know knew that the liquidation sale at Circuit City was bogus, there were no real deals and walked out empty handed.

  • I don't know if I would call it bogus. People did get some good deals (eventually) but the first week of liquidation was definitely not the time to flood the stores looking for the deal of a lifetime. Towards the end, items were marked as low as we had seen them since Black Friday.

  • To hell with you consumers. I loved my god damn job and the people I worked with were a family to me. Good people that now dont have jobs but still have familys to feed. But you couldnt be bothered by that all you are worried about is the best deal. If your so worried about the best price then you should be shopping around before you buy. And assume anything retail is more then likley cheaper online.

  • ah! its that kind of customer service that CC was famous for

  • In a store that did poorly, you can expect poor customer service, but in a store that actually had people that cared about there jobs and there customers, you got the exact opposite. Unfortunatly thats all anyone cares about is how bad a company does, not how well we did.

  • circuit city reminds me of that place that Chuck works

  • i worked at a circuit city but was fired half a month before they announced their store closings..the management really did suck dick and the people who worked there were almost as retarded as shoprite employee's fuck that place. good riddance

  • Good riddance circuit city, you awful awful retail electronics chain. Your poorly trained employee's and awful customer service really paid off. Best buy 4 Life.

  • "Good riddance circuit city"

I'm glad you get such pleasure from seeing 30,000 people lose their jobs.

  • What if bestbuy put there prices even lower then Circuit City on purpose?

  • circuit city isnt just going to allow you to rape them.

  • I've gave up on both Circuit City and Best Buy years ago. They are only good with DVD releases. Laptops and other computer stuff are WAY OVER PRICED. I'd never go in BestBuy again. I'm Very happy Circuit City went under, so should Best Buy...

  • LOL! I about peed my pants laughing when I went to Circuit City's 'liquidation'... Most items were 20-40% more than Wal-Mart! If you bought stuff from them duing this your time, your are a n00b.

  • Wow, you would think the local news would do better research.

For all liquidations, prices are raised to MSRP then discounted from there.

Furthermore, to even compare a retail price to an online price is ridiculous! Most of those internet deals are before shipping and MANDATORY extended warranties.

Last, but of course not least, Circuit City had nothing to do with the prices set. Circuit City ceased existence January 16, 2009, the day the court gave the reigns to the liquidators.

  • Circuit City is the crappiest place to buy anything after wat... 2001 when they cut commission if i do remember correctly.

I worked with the Sales Manager at Buena Park store doing up sales sheets which noted the gross margin on all items in the store. TV's were outrageous some being marked up as much at 45% from cost.

Circuit city's final hours were just a push to make the most money from anyone that would buy.

  • haha

  • I don't agree. I went in two weeks ago and purchased Blu ray disc , wii games and cds for 70 percent off. I purchased like 4 of each and they sold on ebay for double the money . I guess this was made before the good sales started.

  • Which game titles and Blu Ray Title? Besides, Those are just little things, how about a laptop, ipod, or video camera? Did you see any discounts on them? All over priced...

  • I got 7 Wii Animal Crossings. The Dark Knight Blu ray. Some Pixar films.

  • Go WPVI 6 ABC Action News!!

  • THis provefd that when we annouced bankrupcy we should have had a"bankrupcy sale" where everything in the store was 10% off. Idiotic customer would have bought everything at this although still sale price, poor sale price. DO RESEARCH FIRST PEOPLE!

  • kuddos

  • This is great proof why customers are idiotic. Everyone needs to learn to do research on their products before purchase. No priced were "marked up" that is normal pricing, then marked down the liquidation company's choice of a % off. I worked their for over 3.5 years and I know that as a fact. Th elaop was cheaper becasue it was bought on sale for quite a bit off (aka more than 10% off) before liquidation.

  • Thats not even what happened! I worked at CCity. What happened is when we were in business we could make it as cheap as we want. The liquidation company marked things to manufacturer's selling price THEN marks it down. thats why its more expensive. if ya'll had shopped with us to begin with, this wouldn't have happened

  • lol

  • I can't believe that in this day and age ppl are still naive about these "going out of business sales" and thinking they're gonna get great deals out of them!

  • I agree with ashes133. Once Circuit City decided to liquidate, all sales policies and pricing were determined by the liquidation companies hired by the bankruptcy court in Virginia. The markups are mostly up to MSRP, which most store don't sell at anyway. At least the products do get cheaper as the liquidation sales continue.

  • hahaha! just shows how retarded people actually are, thats what u get for not doing research before u buy something

  • i got a olympus dslr camera for $471 with tax compared to $600 at best buy and a nintendo ds for $70 brand new so yeah i got a deal and im happy. for every product you buy you must do research and not just buy it because it says out of business sign

  • Wow, all you people saying "Fuck Circuit City" are morons. First of all, it's not Circuit City anymore you morons, it was bought out by LIQUIDATORS.

Do any of you know how liquidators work? Really? Do any of you know how this process works? God you all must be retarded.

Liquidators take prices from MSRP which is ALWAYS higher than what most retail stores sell product at. It'd be like buying a car direct from the manufacturer.

You people really can't be THIS stupid.

  • I thought Americans were smart?

Just to show how stupid Americans are

no sympathy these people are dumbasses.

once they see that Big ASS sign

    GOING OUT BUSSINESS

    they get what they deserv

  • Your forgetting the other BIG SIGN,, "SALE"...

  • Thats why circuit city SUCKS!

  • fuck circuit city!

  • For all the people who are crying about getting ripped off. Think of it this way if you were needing money to pay debts would you sell everything you had for bottom dollar? Hell No You Wouldn't. You would start high and work your way to a price that would sell it. That is how a liquidation works. It is not about selling the house and everything in it for $20. Stop crying about how much you paid or were not willing to pay. Take your sorry ass to a store with prices you like and buy it there.

  • i went in there twice and walked out with nothing....dont fall for it...

  • yea i went to "circuit shitty" and there wasnt anything in there except marked up plasma tv's...smh no wonder there going outta business

  • What do you think Best Buy's prices will do when the competition is reduced? Best Buy will jack 'em up where ever they can.

  • CIRCuit city HOTEL & casino

    at las vegas coming soon

  • im glad your all getting screwed, i work there and sign receipts at the door. can't help but laugh at everyone that paid 50$ or more for something that was 15$ when we were still in business.

  • I saw an 8GB flash drive at Circuit City for $35 today (and a 4GB one for $34... lol). Later on I went to Wal Mart and picked up the 8GB one for $20. It's sad to see all these people getting scammed at Circuit City...

  • Keep in mind, it is not Circuit City....it is the team of Liquidators that are marking the price up.

  • Why didn't they Post the NAME of these Liquidators?????

  • I went to Circuit City the other day and saw a fight break out between an employee and some guy trying to return a bargain TV that had a hole through the screen. The employee was actually laughing at the poor guy and told him to get lost before he called the cops.

  • god people are idioits CIRCUIT CITY is not relible for those high prices. ITS the liquidators who want more money to get what ever they can for going out of business

  • People are idiots. Liquidations are about making money to pay off the debt, NOT SAVINGS. So no shit the prices are higher. It's full on MSRP. Stop the lemming bullshit and shop somewhere else.

  • thats fucked up

  • To hell with Circuit City. You can get pretty much ANYTHING they sell and MORE at online retailers such as newegg, for MUCH cheaper.

  • Wow...really shows the stupidity of consumers...when did people start assuming they shouldn't shop around??

When Circuit City was in business, nothing sold for MSRP, except maybe some CDs and DVDs. Everything was always at least 10-20% off MSRP as their regular price. Then a little extra depending on the sales.

Consumers need to blame themselves for being stupid and not shopping around and doing their homework. Who can blame the LIQUIDATORS (not CIRCUIT CITY!) for wanting to make money?

  • Common sense teaches to shop around and not believe everything you see. If you buy something and it is cheaper elsewhere only you, the purchaser, are to blame.

  • Circuit City still ripping off people, open box LCD full MSRP with 25%off...what a joke

  • Dont know where you are shopping..all TV's are 40% off tomorrow...all stores closing by March 8th.

  • yeah, you go buy your open box TV's for $40%

  • Welcome To Circuit City, Where Failure Is State Of The Art

  • O.K. I'll tell you all how liquidations work. First the liquidator comes in, whenever he feels like it, and tell us we get to keep our jobs. He then tells us the prices. The prices go up to MSRP first, Liquidators choice, then they get the discount on that. They dont use C-City prices. Then the liquidator waits a while, week or so, then he tells us "The prices are %____." I also have to tell you all that we dont know when we're Closing/ Fired. Ummm, guess thats it... Peace Bro. Im out!!!!!!!!!!

  • I should of looked at this video before today. I got "screwed" by them today I bought something for 160.00 supposedly at 30% off and it sell at best buy for 144.00 I went back and they told me I had to talk to the liquidator but they did not know when he would be in. I began letting the whole store know wha tthey were doing and I was told I was harrassing their customers. So I had to leave.

  • You have obviously heard of Circuit city's Demise, come and watch "The disgruntled Circuit city associates." I hope you Enjoy and leave your input or possibly a memory you have had at the oldest retailer in the Nation.
