Hmm... I miss spoke. I meant that back then people weren't used to using the left hand for moving and since most people were right handed, they just used their right hands and this Joystick and button was just trying to work for as many people as possible.
@jackbrokeheart Although most people are right handed, as far back as I can remember (mid 80's) the joysticks in arcades were always on the left with the buttons on the right
Good God! Will you just let me win! Fine! You are right and I am wrong! All though I still think that they had a good reason for the buttons on the left.
How many levells are there on ms packman? My friend and I beat the first two (orangy) boards, then the three blue boards, and one right after that. It gets ridiculously more difficult the higher you get, and you only can get so many tries
That's a difficult question! There are bugs that do weird things. I think there are kill screens from about level 134 where Ms. Pac-man can die without appropriate cause. If one manages to get to stage 142, the game resets due to another bug.
If you fix these bugs you can play up to level 256. Like in Pac-Man, another bug makes this last stage is impossible to complete because there aren't enough dots. This bug can be fixed as well, however, and finishing the level loops you back to stage 1.
I forgot to mention that the information above only applies to the original Ms. Pac-man ROM, not the version in the Namco Joystick. I'm not sure how far you can get with this version.
I was disappointed with Namco for not reproducing the original game well, here. The ghost behaviours are so different!! Blinky and Sue (yes, SUE!!!) seem to follow you fairly intelligently in this one. The ghosts don't appear to slow down when they turn blue either. :(
The joystick I have is different. It's wireless and have a receiver. But that requires 8 batteries, 4 batteries for the receiver and 4 for the joystick. It also came with two more games, NEW Rally-X and Bosconian which is different from the Pac-Man 5 in 1 version.
It's just a case of remembering where the hard left corner is (I think it's the 2nd left corner from the start). In fact it's the only corner you need to slow down on as all the rest can be done flat out. A good way to slow down is going on the grass on the left hand side before the corner.
You can actually use the gear change to drop your speed down instantaneously on that 2nd left and then just press it again on the way out...bought one of these at a car boot last week for 50p, awesome times!
6:30 That was a close call.....

The reason the joystick is on the right is because that's how it was on the original Ms. Pac Man machine.

@jackbrokeheart I thought the joystick was in the middle of the original arcade machine, therefore could be for left and right handers.
