I loved Paul Williams since I heard him sing the end credits for the Secret of Nimh (Flying Dreams). His voiced intrigued me so much I just kept looking for his albums which were kind of hard to find in the late 80's to 90s. And recording any movie or show he would be on.You Tubers have it so great! I finally got my wish come true to see him in concert and even got to give him a hug. So great! Such a great singer and songwriter! not a bad actor either :)

He did use drugs but his drug of choice was actually alcohol. He is an alcoholic. He went back to school, got a degree and to be a certified counsellor. He recovered, for himself and his family and helps others because he wants to not because he has to.

He has said addiction damaged his career. when he was at the top of his game he was too paranoid to leave his home and meet with executives etc and lost out on a lot of work. My favorite quote of his is this " I consider my kids my best work"

woa...you so do not know him or you would not say that. I interviewed him twice for two different projects. (one in high school and one in college) and he would not agree with you what so ever.

Paul's creativity was born out of his drug use.

His creativity also comes from his personal experiences with love and loss and his own child hood not soley from drug use. He also supports a high school in Nasvhille for teen ages who wish to overcome his their drug use and get their high school education. Did you also know that he is an advocate for gay and lesbian rights and that he is also hates they way woman are subjected to stereotypes in the media (such as how their is more pressure on women to be thin etc)

I don't know - I had the LP in the '80s; 2 copies of the cassette in the '90's; I have one prized cassette of Classics safely locked away. I check Amazon every now and again to see if it was released on CD. But I haven't seen it yet. (boo hoo).

Hi. I have wanted to meet Paul since I was 12 years old (some 30 something years ago!). I am a singer/songwriter and he was one of my greatest mentors. He was in Australia in 2008 when I took this (never having used the camera before-so sorry about the shaking). He asked the audience what they would like him to sing. They shouted 'Loneliness' and he was totally shocked as he said it is his favourite song, and no audience has asked him to sing it.

did he not have a "meet and greet" after this show? because that is how i got to meet him, both in winnipeg and in vegas as he stayed around after the show greeting fans...and he has given me several BIG hugs! I am still on cloud nine and it has been 3 months since the last one!! if he did not have a meet and greet after this show, i am sorry for you if you did not meet him, because he is as nice as they come!

let me tell you, though, when you finally do, it will be WELL WORTH the wait!

I was at the same show at the Grand Rex, great artist. Awesome show, it was sold out...I still remember it, because I went with my girlfriend and her Mom!! had to be at the back of the top level, so steep...I think they do not use that part anymore.

I am a HUGE fan since the age of 12 (im now 46) i met him in canada and also several times in las vegas--what can I say?..you can't meet a more beautiful person!!He is the warmest most genuine person on the face of the earth I am an even bigger fan since meeting him and to the day I die, this will never change! He had me feeling like the star!

Outstanding song and performance. Saw (and met) Paul at Suncoast in Las Vegas in 2007. He's as cool as they come! A genius songwriter and a treasured human being in my book.
