  • We do need to come up with some sectarian slurs for the Buddhists. Any takers?

  • @RoyZimmerman I know this is beside the point, but just want to note in case you are unaware, as I was, that unfortunately groups of Buddhists have been behind campaigns of violence & oppression. I get that the conflict you were inspired by was one in which apparently innocent peaceful monks were killed, & the point of the song was well taken, just think it's something worth bearing in mind that a lot of people aren't aware of. Thanks, love your work!

  • "And their god doesn't even have a beard" XD

  • omg

  • 'Grab a torch, and let's go find somebody to enlight....en!' I'm a Buddhist, and this was fookin' hilarious.

  • Finally someone who sees the real danger!

  • "Those semi-mystic, anti-dualistic, morally relativistic punks!" LMAO

  • Ha Ha, great stuff Roy. It's always something new!

  • Wacky......

  • @jeffreydebra1 What is? 0_o

  • Oh man, he has a couple of good lines in that song, I especially liked the two lines :

"And their god doesn't even have a beard !"

"Lets wipe out terrorism everywhere, except ofcourse where the terrorists are us."

  • Obi Wan got the OBL.

  • Buddhists dont have a god...... and yes, I was listening just now....

  • wouldn't Buddhists be idless not egoless?

  • @hornylink Buddhists kinda predate Freud.

  • Cheap supply of oil...that's horrifying...because it's talking about those buddhists who burned themselves in protest of the war xD Disgusting!

  • @Existentialisht i want you to read the part of the description that says "in support if the myanmar monks",then i want you to google the word "satire".

  • @millitantatheist1 You must be unfamiliar with Dark Humor and its recognition, dousche-bag.

  • @Existentialisht

    poe's law.

regardless, your comment is devoid of any humour regardless of the inflection, and this is coming from someone who loves gallows humour.

if your going to call me a douchebag., at least do me the courtesy of spelling it correctly.

  • @millitantatheist1 I wasn't trying to be humorous, ok? That's exactly what Roy Zimmerman said! "They're a cheap supply of oil!" It's a reference to Thich Quang Duc. It is gallows humor!

And yeah ok. I hit the "S" button therefore anything I say is invalidated. It makes sense.

  • @Existentialisht while i dont want to get into a discussion about your sense of humour, gallows humour is morbid, but it is supposed to be humourous, do to your lack of this and poe's law, i took your comment as exactly what it reads as, a criticism of zimmerman.

i was trying to politely berate you for having insulted me, even giving you a way out, i suggest you take it.

  • @millitantatheist1 Why the hell does poe's law apply here? I don't even understand where you are coming from. Why would I lie about something so trivial? It is not a criticism of Zimmerman. He made a joke that some would consider in poor taste in the song (that Buddhist monks are a "cheap supply of oil") and, as a result, makes one laugh about how much in poor taste it was. I'm laughing at his audacity. "Disgusting" is equivalent to "lol" or "I can't believe he said that!"

  • @Existentialisht poes's law does not involve lying it involves the inability to distinguish inflection(which in the english language changes the meaning of the entire sentence) in written text(normally sarcasm, but in this case humour).

this is how this started, you then proceded to call me a douchbag, an unneccesary ad hominum.

  • And their God doesn't even have a beard! I love this guy's priorities!

  • We have caught Osama, We didn't speak too rashly, He won't be releasing a video with Mary Kate and Ashley,

  • I'll be the first to say it.

    00:00

    YES WE HAVE!

  • A little humor is a great way to start the day. A sign of a great humorist, in my opinion, is the ability to take something serious and get people laughing at it.

    Aloha from Hawaii,

    Thomas

  • i sense some john fahey influence

that being said, i dig your tunes. "what if the beatles were irish?" is probably my favorite so far.

  • @RoyZimmerman Man you should run for president!!! Any south american tours?!?!?

  • Yes, those tolerant, meditating pacifists detatching from greedy materialism Buddhists are a real danger for our patriotic nation, kick them out! OOOOOHMMMM!

  • Patri-idiotic attitude, lol... he was definitely on the mark there

  • Buddhism is more of a philosophy than a religion. You can practice Buddhism while being Protestant or Catholic, anyway.

  • @Xenofanatic Grasshopper? If you can walk across the rice paper bible without leaving a mark, it will be time for you to leave.

  • @Xenofanatic

    i'm afraid you're wrong..read the dhamma/dharma..

buddhism is non-theistic..and does not support the belief in a creator god

  • @TenTonTommy777 ...Exactly, I m a buddhist n we don't believe that god created us!!! Buddhism is all about living life in peace n harmony. Buddha never had any superpowers neither did he declared himself god.

  • @Xenofanatic You have to choose one or the other...there are a lot of similarities in the teachings but to try to practice more than one would cause inner conflict.

    Peace

  • Ah, I love this song. So does my sister, the only Buddhist in a family of Jews. :3

  • Just love your enemy. They'll hate you for it.

  • Seriously? How can you have a God WITHOUT an epic beard?

  • @norcofreerider604 Because he has an epic belly instead.

  • @Jesses001 Epic Beard > Epic Belly.

  • @norcofreerider604 That I can not argue, lol.

  • @Jesses001 Not in all traditions.

  • Buddhism is interesting.

  • the 34 dislikers have a patri-idiotic-attitude.

  • @AIReject or just didnt get the video

  • anyone with a patri-idi-otic attitude?

  • Leaving out CIA overthrows/puppets, we've sent troops to Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia, Kosovo, Iraq again, Panama, Beirut, Tehran, Vietnam, Santo Domingo, Lebanon, Korea, The World Wars, the Banana Wars (Cuba, Mexico, Panama again, Haiti for 20 years, Nicaragua for 20 years, DR again), the Spanish-American War for Cuba, Puerto Rico, Guam, and the Philippines, the Indian Wars of pacification, the Civil War, the Indian Wars of continental expansion, the Revolutionary War, and some more Indian Wars.

  • Then lets go after everyone not like us! The American way

  • make sense .... we've heard a lot of religions claiming to be the religion of peace, but we had seen a lot of terrible things done in the name of those religions

now, imagine what an ACTUAL religion of peace can do ! .... yeah, we need to go after the Buddhists. ;)

  • "Let's go after the terrorists except where the terrorists are us"

Funny if it weren't so close to the truth.

  • @drfoxcourt

It's not close. It's just truth.

  • @timothymcparland123 you are obviously a fag

  • you are an ignorant ugly litte man

  • "Hey dude, you look like you'd have a patri-idiotic attidude"... so subtle the idiots will miss it, so true all others will lol

  • Very funny, very wrong.

  • @danielteeboom what exactly is wrong about this?

  • @Belthazore1 probably that he's mocking the USofA and all that is American culture and general beliefs.

But mocking something, if it's done with facts and comparing pros and cons, can shed some light on what things should be improved upon. Most people these days are very narrow minded, xenophobic and just plain ignorant bigots.

If only there was some way to get people to stop being so violent and rejecting. Well, I guess that's what humor is for.

  • Nice.

Is he a teacher (y'know, with the blackboard being there)?

  • @jismith1989

no, he's simply doing an act at a school

    see creation science 101

  • I am a Buddhist and I found this hilarious! "And their god doesn't even have a beard" xD

  • This guy is genius

  • Let's kick some Budd.

  • is this a joke?

  • @alwood1993 Go kill yourself.

  • @alwood1993 yes very much and very funny

  • Aooooooooooo....mmmmm.

  • I find it sad that 80% of people here don't understand the meaning of this song at all lol

    :(

  • I vote for a full hour on comedy central. This guy is HILARIOUS. :)

  • A know a buddhist and he's very nice =)

  • Every time I listen to these videos, I think Tom Lehrer. And in a very, very good way. It's the same kind of level of smart, funny writing. A++, would lol again.

  • only 65.000 views??

How the hell did that happen... at least 10.000 of them must be mine^^

  • Roy Z. is the best ting on youtube!

  • This man just won the internets.

  • Mary Kate and Ashley? NOW that's terrorism!

  • "And their god doens't even have a beard!" hehe! hillarious!

  • love from the Netherlands

  • pazzensutra,

If America is great, but it's so frail and weak, that it will dry up and blow away if anybody criticizes it, then it won't be a great country for very long.

Identifying the flaws, and fixing them, was what made America great in the first place.

And we can be a great nation again. Someday. If we work at it.

And if you think Washington has no flaws right now, you're not loving the real America.

America is like a marriage, you can love it and make it better at the same time.

  • Corection America is NOT! the greatest nation it is a too "Liberal" and Capitalistic country to many people doesn't have enough money to educate themself eventhough they are more inteligent than most of thoose who can afford a education.

  • @Megabambam Is lack of money your excuse for your writing? Correction (comma) America is NOT! (an exclamation point means full stop to the sentence, which makes) the (capitalized) greatest nation (period). it (Capitalized) is a too "Liberal" (sarcasm?) and Capitalistic country (period). to (Too) many people doesn't (don't) have enough money to educate themself (Themselves) eventhough (two words) they are more inteligent (two l's) than most of thoose (those) who can afford a (an) education.

  • @bostsu2001 That's unfair to use grammar against someone's point of view. Consider that this guy might be able to speak many languages and be advanced with his knowledge. And you might not know his language enough to ask for the location of a bathroom. I may be wrong, but there is a chance.

  • @Matismatt ...I agree, but the bathroom comment was kinda lame

  • @dondongo666 I did not mention the bathroom for an effect. In my experience, the knowledge of how to say it in foreign environment could be the most important one.

  • @Matismatt I think it was precisely for an effect, whether downgrading or humorous. As for the reality, if you are in an environment where you can't decipher another language, the bathroom is probably the least of your worries.

  • @dondongo666 Been there, done that... fact... no effect

  • @Matismatt ...I don't think you understand what I mean by effect; either way, I just said it was a cheesy comment

  • @dondongo666 I believe I did understand. I would call it "effect" if I had to chose from more appropriate examples and have chosen this one only for the effect of being downgrading and humorous. I would call my choice precise for being realistic (and perhaps, offensive). But calling it "cheesy" and "lame"... you hurt my feelings ;-(

  • @Matismatt I only meant to help you to be more efficient in getting your point across to guys like him, which I agreed with. As for what you felt, I had no intention of offending you. Just expressing what I felt.

  • @dondongo666 Point taken. Thanks.

  • @Matismatt Thank you; I should be less of an ass

  • Comment removed

  • @Megabambam I'd like to apologize for raggin on you so hard about your grammar. I deeply respect the liberal cause and see it as a great hope for human future. I bristle when I get bashed.

Think of this.. American Independence. Where were the conservatives on this issue? With the British. Slavery? with the owners. Women's right to vote... On and on, the conservative mind set must be dragged into the future. We disagree obviously but I was in attack mode and that wasn't fair to your opinion.

  • @pazzensutra so according to you since less then the majority of people in this country have o.k. no one should talk about the things we do that are wrong or fucked up? Now that dosnt seem very patriotic to me. I'm sure if he was singing about how his taxes are skyrocketing you wouldn't have a problem with it. Tell you what go read a book, maybe even two, then come back and try to hold a political conversation with some people who would love to hear your opinion. and if you WON'T then shut up

  • You haven't noticed that the people coming in to America are often from third world countries, and that the intelligent Americans are the ones who are leaving?

  • *hugs pazzensutra*

You just looked like you needed it...

(BTW, the US is only #1 on military expenditures now. It has sadly fallen behind in health, education, technology, and religion (in that you still have a lot of it, and it's controlling the state again). Congratz on that...)

  • soil our american soil. haha.

    hahaha

Let's wipe out terrorism everywhere except for where the terrorists are us.

grab a torch and let's go find some buddy to enlight...en.

  • It is not point about Buddhism. It is about USandA politics which terrorise a half of fucking world!!!

  • @indijanak why did u put 'and' in USA? its of, not and.

  • @indijanak They only terrorise half? I'd better re-evaluate my world view...

  • @indijanak this guy is very funny obvious, i enjoy good satire.... but all the hatred for America is just retarded... which country in the history of the world has had as much power as America and been as generous/just with the rest of the world.... Greece, England, Solviet Union, Germany? Its obviously fun and the popular thing to do hate whoever is on top... but just use ur mind son.

  • @Epimpin101 We did a pretty good job, I'd like to think. Brought large parts of the world up to date and stopped a variety of particularly nasty habits.

  • @Epimpin101

Oh, yeah, America's been generous. Tell that to Oscar Romero.

  • @Epimpin101 Dude, get outside more. Soviet Union is long gone.

  • @indijanak USandA hahaha

  • Enlightenment is an eternal blissful mental state.

  • So it's another would for getting high?

  • so this was amazing my favorite parts were when he was like"lets wipe out terrorism everywhere except where the terrorists are us" and when he he said patridiotic attitude and at the end he was all like ommmm.

  • fuckin' buddhists are goin' down, son!

  • @TheGreatOldOnes

    Oh yes!

there's nothing like flag waving evangelicals that cares about nothing about their bible, their guns and their wallets, and their rapist dogs of corporate pimps who's abusing something good for their own gain.. right?

Found any new enemies you can hate latelly?

  • um...i cant tell if youre retarded or just really sarcastic...either way im sure you didnt watch this video. if you did, youd be aware that i wasnt serious.

  • @TheGreatOldOnes

    I was being sarcastic mate....

Who canæt be loving those Rwers who clinch to their wallets, guuns and bibles, ready to wipe out the planet in the name of USA?

  • @TheGreatOldOnes

There's nothing like christian teabaggers just itching to push the atomic button for the Armageddon and the great rapture isn't it?

  • ok. youre either a troll or are in fact a retard. im not a christian. im an athiest. i made a joke that you obviously cant comprehend. roy was joking about the buddhists. i was too.

  • lol "and their god doesnt have a beard"

  • Buddhism doesnt presume to Deism or Atheism.

  • Technically. Buddhism's kind of aggressively agnostic: it's more "There may or may not be a god, worry about that when you're not so busy trying to reach enlightenment."

  • @Crabjesus

    You're wrong.

Seeking enlightenment is a personal thing. All true buddhists seek that enlightenment without the infringement of dogmas. And we don't stuff our "values" down somebody elses throat like the aggressive christian evangelicals do. We do not think about a deity in forms of biblical since we regard that as inconsequensial to spiritual evolution.

In fact, there's evidence that suggest that Jesus himself went to study buddhism in India during the lost years...

  • You are Buddhist and YOU dont believe in any god.

  • @koldtoft

Buddhists may very well believe in a universal deity. It may be with a flavor of every denomination in the world. but we don't percieve this deity the same way as a biblical one. A one that was created by and for a people in the desert in Palestine as a form of pillar for a growing society.

You should read Herman Hesses book Siddhartha before coming out with uncited claims my friend,.

  • im Buddhist and we dont believe in any god.

but i found this extremely funny XD

    5*

  • @SoLo92ut

    right on mate.

I left the buddhist dogma many years ago. But the core of buddhism is still in me. Seeking enlightenment. Reaching enlightenment is finding the divine within yourself and not in some book written by stone age people in the desert. sorry if I offended anyone here.

  • "hone your epithets" I laughed so hard.

  • God is an unenlightened being, that's why god still gets angry, kill and destroy

Buddha is a fully enlightened being. A Buddha has eradicated greed, anger and delusion.

  • @impermanentoo

That's why monotheistic evangelical religions hate Buddhism.

  • The wise sees the truth and the blind will claim that there no such thing as light just because they can,t see it.

  • im buddhists and we do not have a god its a miss conception, buddha is not a god.

  • thats right set these guys right. i dont know that much about buddhists but i would like to learn more:)

  • thank you sir :) and yes please do learn more about it because you will benefit greatly from it believe me your life will change for the better =]

  • and the fat man isn't Buddha.

  • actually he is, but thats the chinese version of Buddha

  • No that's Budai(布袋). As for my understanding of Budai, he is like a Buddhist Santa Clause.

  • Thats is actually more accurate. The version that most westerners see as Buddha is Budai as he was even used in China for Chinese Buddhists to have as a symbol of Buhdda. Eventually they came to be both represented in Chinese culture by the same statue.

  • What about Gandhi then?

  • @R10freestyle I believe that was the point.. .the bigoted character looking for enemies of the state wouldn't know that.

  • What? Roy Zimmerman is an idiot?! Or did i get you completely wrong!

  • yes, you did. Rereading my comment however, I see how the misunderstanding came about. I should have been more clear. I was talking to the anti-semitist (did I spell that right?) up above me.

  • This guy is funny!

  • if this guy hasnt already gone on the daily show or even colbert, he needs to be soon. his writing is smart, humor is clever and plucks a mean guitar. comedy central would crazy not putting him on the air

  • I second that! I'd love to see him sparring with Colbert, and then maybe singing a song. Needs to happen!

  • i am right there with ya. how does one lobby the Daily Show to get this guy on the air?? ("Ted Haggard is Completely Heterosexual" would KILL on Comedy Central!)

  • @mseager true man he needs to be on daily show

  • @mseager I agree. it's hard to write a song. But its vigorous to write comedy songs. Roy Zimmerman is the best satirist ive ever seen. he deserves more than school buildings and small auditorums.

  • @mseager

    Oh, I fucking totally agree.

  • Your sweet !

  • Instead of contemplating their navels, they can contemplate our naval might XD

  • I love it!

  • Fantastic <3

  • "...enlight-en"

    lol

  • Dude, as a practicing buddhist, I think this song is funny as hell!!! Keep it up!!!

  • Ok, I'll accept what you say, even though I don't believe it.

  • Comment removed

  • Sorry, "Militant Islam"

  • Buddha or Sidhartha Guatma was a monk whom achieved a higher state of being or "nirvana" as they call it. Buddha is not a god, but a man whom has broken the cycle of reincarnation. at least as I understand their beliefs. He was looking for a way to end all of the suffering he saw around him.

  • plus people can become a Buddha. There isn't necessarily one single one.

  • yes , anyone who do great hard effort can become a buddha, but there will be a one buddha in a one single period, as while the Buddha's teaching are existing, no body needs to rediscover it again, just have to follow and end the suffering.

  • Good comment, Buddha realized the way to end suffering coursed by numerous outer and inner matters, the death, illness, old-age, unsatisfactory etc. and he found the course for suffering, and way of end it and how to end it, found it without the guidence of a teacher, so he is considered as the great teacher of all, monks who followed his teachings and who achieved the end of suffering are known as Arahaths. generally the monk society is a student society.

  • lol

  • Do a favor to Buddha. Kick the Dalai Lama.

  • Patridiotic... Love that word!

  • Wow

  • Clever and very funny.

  • I am also a Buddhist, and in our secret meetings where we sacrifice little white Christian children we talk about how big of a threat Roy Zimmerman to us. Good things we've hid Osama so well.

  • I lol'd

  • hahahahaha, I think I love you, imaginary internet person

  • Dude, I'm buddhist and I find this hilarious! Keep it up, Roy! =P

  • Learn2Satire

  • Just found Roy Zimmerman today and I love him already! So funny, so sharp, and so witty. Good tunes, too.
