  • Around $90k for a kit car, fuck that shit I rather wait and get a 2015 Acura NSX if I had that much money and it has more features than a kit car.

  • What is under the hood of this car?

  • love the car

    fuck your shitty queer music

  • Is there any crash test photos for this car? How would it protect the driver in an accident?

  • turn the friggin music down

  • GTM G2 you shall be mine!!

But I do wonder if you can insure it lol

  • Please excuse me, I need to change my pants.

  • BRO! you mean build one of these........(or assemble)

  • how bout texas mile?

  • looks like a ford gt from front, looks like a saleen from rear, and looks like a corvette from side. it just me or....?

  • how much

  • @Trevorisbeast1 19,990 for the kit and without a engine, trany, rear end, and wheels and tires and then about 250-300 hours of build time in then end it will but you back about 40-50 grand

  • One thing kip me away from buying this car, i know where i can get cheap new Corvette motor, but i got no clue where to get that Porsche trany and how much it will cost. Cuz one name of manufacturer enough for me to understand that price tag can be same as kit it self.

  • Is this Supercar from the Same "GTM" thats based in the West Midlands?

(i thought they only made Kit cars with the "Austin-Rover K-Series" Engine).

Also whats Her Maximum Speed?? (In MPH please since i don't speak Metric).

  • @michaelfergusonuk

if you use google you will find they have a web page, with statistics

    google is your friend

  • @KarelYalek Thanks for the reccomendation

(i'm a Yahoo person myself but i'll look it up).

  • Comment removed

  • @jritch89 no iv never seen one , im in the uk and i dont think we have any over here. thanks :)

  • How much??

  • @paramorebean Basic kit strts at $20,000. You supply the Vette drivetrain, wheels and tires and paint. If you order all the extras, about another 6 grand on top. So, $26,000 plus a good Corvette drivetrain another $8-10,000. So, for a starting point of less than a new Camaro, you can build a Ferrari beater.

  • It doesnt look like it weighs only 1200kg

  • do you guys ever plan to build a GT40?

  • @keefer2111

    Thanks for the send buddy.

    Great vid. Well done.

  • @keefer2111 This is their "gt40" Ford owns the rights to the gt40. I like this one just as well.

  • @TeXJ2424 But it was "LOLA Racing cars" of cambridgeshire that created the GT40 originally

(They didn't have the money to take her racing themselves so when Ford announced a Competition to find a car to beat Ferrari

at lemans the Lola Car was entered & won out against her rivals, & of course go on to her place in endurance racing history).

  • do you think with a little modification that a falconer v12 fould fit in this car? epic car, and great song choice.

  • my friend jake p. owns chassis model number 55 and theres only 100 of these car kits ever prodced

  • that looks so beautiful on those big wheels. If these kits are still being made in 5-10 years im defiantly building one

  • best car

  • is it just me or do the lines kind of look Enzo-ish

  • @TeXJ2424 its surely just you

  • Yes it is from scrach but it has styling quse from the gt40 and ferrari enzo

  • turn off the music!!!!!

  • turn of the music!!!!!!!!!

  • Hey does anyone know what this car is based off of? This company makes kits that replicate older AC Cobras and I know where those came from, but with this car I just don't know fursure, did FFR build this car from scratch or is it based off something else?

  • I believe FFR wanted to replicate the Ford GT but was shot down by the company, so they came up with this kickass car.

  • @billjackalsmith

Its a ground up original design car that uses a C5 corvette for suspenison and drivetrain parts. Full tube chassis as well. David

  • @djborden

Hey thanks for lettin' me know, I just wasn't sure because I didn't recognize the design, but it seemed crazy to me that they could have done it from scratch, but they did!

  • @djborden the side of the car looks like they took some styling from the porsche carerra gt

  • @djborden looks a lot like the Ford GT to me...

  • @djborden Also uses Porsche transmission.

  • @billjackalsmith 1994-2004 chevy corvette c5

go to factoryh five (dot) com

theres a list of everything you need

  • @billjackalsmith I would say a GT40.

  • @billjackalsmith

It's based off the ford gt

  • @edgewalker20 actually its not dave smith owner of factory five says its a groud up desing and is FFRs own creation

  • @bulldog32220 well its not

  • @edgewalker20 Indeed.

    The GT40 Isn't even a Ford! She's a 100% Creation of "LOLA Racing Cars" in Cambridgeshire:Great Britain!!

She was Designed & the first Prototype constructed BEFORE Ford & Ferrari had their Famous falling out but LOLA lacked the money to take her racing at the time, so when Ford announced a competiton

for a Racing Car Lola was one of the Companys to propose an entry, her only major rival being a Lotus Supercar based on their Europa (the Esprit's predecessor) & lola won out.

  • @michaelfergusonuk

    "The GT40 isn't even a Ford!"

Sorry, that is such a stupid comment, I can't even express how I feel

  • @edgewalker20 Well given your nationality that kind of response is of no surprise, but inaccurate all the same.

The fact that "LOLA Supercars" Designed & Built her (intended for their own use originally) to working prototype stage BEFORE Ford & Ferrari had their famous falling out

(a historical fact that is on every detailed history book / Documentary & website) makes any protest to the contrary futile, you can argue with me but not with documented fact.

Here's to this great BRITISH Supercar.

  • @edgewalker20 After all the "De-Tomaso Pantera" was sold with a Ford V8 & mostly though Ford dealerships but no-one refers to it as a ford do they?

It's also a fact that when the "RS-200's" (failed Group-B rally car [Failed in the aspect that it's accidents got Group-B banned in 1986]) body's were manufactured by "Reliant"!!

Yup thats right! the British makers of those odd looking (& handling) Three wheelers!!

Add to that "Lotus" & "Cosworth" & it becomes clear how much Ford rely's on us Brit's.

  • @michaelfergusonuk thequickest car in the world also came from GB... the Ultima GTR!

  • @Pimpydog Very True.

She may not be the most attractve Supercar in history (compared to a Countach or a Meclaren F1), but the Ultima GTR is a very impressive (& Powerful) Machine, no doubt about that.

Not to mention it holds Lap records at "Dunsfold Aerodrome" (Top Gear's test track) exceeding almost everything else that has been tested there (including the Ferrari FXX) .

  • @billjackalsmith She's built new, fresh CadCam software, tube frame, very light, very aerodynamic,,0-60 in 3.0 seconds....they use various engines, LS1 or newer Vette engine, but can put 351 supercharged plant or just about anything you can afford. Transaxle is Porsche 911 (mid-engine design, rear drive).. All for 60K, turnkey. Drive one!

  • @billjackalsmith The design of the car is based off the Ford GT

  • @Rohitamlekar Looks like a corvette C5 from side.

  • @billjackalsmith

It's scratch built, loosely influenced by the GT40.

  • @billjackalsmith i believe a c5 corvette

  • @billjackalsmith

Its a similar body shape as a Ford GT, but its not a ford GT, nor does it use any parts from one. Mainly custom chassis using a Gen 3 drivetrain. though I think you can use a traditional SBC or BBC as well, they probably make mounts to fit a variety of engines.

  • @billjackalsmith I hope the other guys are kidding. look up ford GT 40. that is where they based it off of. I'm sure that you knew that and everyone is joking

  • @apollodogful Maybe you should have your eyesight checked.

  • wil somebody PLEASE help me out here, just coment.

ive seen adds for these cars all over the place and saw the prices. there not bad at all. when it says $19,000 does it mean the body? the engine? a part of some sort? an overpriced rc car? i mean, when you BUY what ever it is your buying, what do you get?! please help! :(

  • ok when you buy the car it come with chassis and body.....it also come with a large number of other thing...the parts that you will need can come from a c5 corvette donor....you should probably leave at least 20k to finish the car above the 19,00 price for the kit...if you want the full list of parts go on the factory five racing website and look under "what I get" and "what I need"....you can configure the car to run with a number of the lsx series engines including the ls1, ls2, and ls7...

  • @lrfreed95 You'll need transmission, engine and some other parts. Full list of items you'll need is in FFR webpage. Average final price should be around 40-50,000 USD if you can find cheap donor 5th generation Corvette Z06 and do all the work yourself. In some rare occasions, GTM could cost 100,000 USD or more but you'll get a monster that is faster on track than almost any other car in the world- including Veyron, Enzo, Murcielago, DBS, Koenigseggs, Ultima, Carrera GT, etc.

  • my life will never be complete until i own one of these

  • same for me

  • what song is this

  • kickstart my heart from motley crue

  • Why are there ram air scoops on the hood for a mid engine car? xD

  • those aren't scoops. they direct air from below the nose over the front of the car to prevent aerodynamic lift at high speed.

  • Oohhh That makes sence. Thats cool. is there storage space under the hood?

  • They probably put a radiator there too. The air sucks in the grill, cools the radiator, then exits up top to produce good air flow and downforce. The Ford GT and GT40 have the same thing.

  • that too :)

  • they are to create downforce and to create a more organised airflow

  • its radiator exhaust...

  • This is a perfect video. I very much like the slow-moe wipe outs. peace

  • man i love that fuckin thing.

  • Oops, I mean the Radical SR8, Not the Ultima GTR..... Sorry about that, Ultima Fans.

  • Lawl, Kickstart My Heart by Motley Crue. Perfect night cruisin' music.

  • I recently started loving this car, great look, very affordable for a lot of people, and a great project if you love working on cars.

But i also love two others, check out the ULTIMA GTR when you get the chance

and also the DDR kit car, a mclaren look alike with room for a corvette ls7.

  • Someone could get really wild with one of these and an LSx block, low compression pistons and a pair of turbos.

  • They have, look up the Heatco GTM.

  • This car could be a daily driver and a track day car... all in one! Best sound from a GTM I've heard.. but the music is distracting...

  • Imagine if this had an LS9! I know these are built for the LS series, but I wonder if I 9 would be compatible?

  • LS9 Seems to be part of the LS series doesn't it...

  • I would believe you are correct. The real question is, would the chassis hold up to the extra 200 horsepower? I think so. FF5 has a GTM with the 7.2 L. LS7 from the ZO6, and it fit quite well, plus helped to post 0-60 in 2.9 s, making it one of the fastest cars in the world.

  • Easily handle another 200HP.

  • all LS series engines have the same external dimensions. GM designed them to be that way

  • Would like to enjoy these type car videos with the music of the engine. The music takes away from the video and buries the real music from the engine.

  • @don19592000 read my mind man

  • After watching the video again, I realized that all of the shots were of the same acceleration points and turns. In said turns the car seems to want to under steer ALOT. I'm sure a great deal of this can be sorted with tweaks to the suspension, but I'm starting to think this thing has a poorly sorted chassis, oh well.

  • S**t on Ferrari and Co, thats a real car, great sound!

  • It is quite a nice looking and fast car, however the Ultima GTR would destroy it in a race.

  • funny... they were actually messing around and TRYING to get the car sideways and out of shape in that shot. Trust me the car does not oversteer unless heavily provoked.

  • yeah i dont know what video you were watching to write this comment, but from what i can see this thing is stuck down and it took effort to get it to oversteer at the end.

  • were you even watching the video or just fantasizing about an Ultima GTR? the GTM is a great car and not an eye sore like the GTR. by the way, LS7 powered GTM's are quicker than Enzo's

  • Ultima GTR is great car too, and faster, but the GTM is much more "useable", as it has items such as a roof....

  • The GTR has a roof, what are you smoking?

  • Not Nissan GTR, The Ultima is a British Supercar, which looks like a LMP1 car, but it is road legal. It set the unofficial record lap at the Nurburgring Nordeshlief (how do you spell it again?) for a production car..... But, I think I mis-named it, thats what lead to confusion.

  • I am talking about the Ultima. You're thinking of the Ultima Can Am, not the GTR. GTR has a roof, dude.

  • Finally, an exciting sportscar within the reach of a middle class income. Now, if only Factory Five would start building them as selling them direct as turnkey packages!

  • The reason its at a reasonable price is from it not being turnkey. Your desire would result in a 60,000 car.

  • this is no super car!!! this is a super duper car!

  • i would like to see the handling of this car as most american cars are loud LOOK AT ME and blistering fast in straight line and rubbish when it comes to handling...but i have to admit this car has got me somewhat interested ...front is a bit like lowered and stretched ford GT but its rear are is better lookin than ford GT.

its certainly better lookin than ultima GTR both from outside and inside as well...infact i think for whats its worth this cars styling is better than all corvettes and vipers

  • Was this GTM built with only C5 parts?

  • imo, the face reminds me of the Ford GT too much. The numbers are impressive, but the overall look seems too "kit-car" ish.

  • cause it is one? lol

  • If the track driver would have driven it past halfway of its potential this would be an amazing video. Very nice car.

  • Makes me want one! ;)

My only concern is safety... If it hits anything will it flatten me like a pancake?

  • The GTM has a full roll cage and designed like a race car. It is very likely safer than anything else you could drive around.

  • also were are the official 0-60 0-100-0 0-200-0 speed times for the FFR GTM I've never seen any on the net. The Ultima GTR holds all of these world records for a road car nothing can beat it, As I said before the Ultima GTR is the only real self build SUPER CAR.

  • Not sure how your statement holds up. The GTM, and other component cars offer similiar performance to the Ultima and are hand constructed cars that qualiy for supercar status. The ultima has the advantage of many years of developement making this kind of performance possible. Despite this, timed runs are not the only thing that make a super car. Do Ferrari's and any other number of exotics qualify as supercars? They arent as fast as the GTR. The GTM has AC and pwr windows!

  • There's no way the FFR GTM is better looking than the Ultima GTR, admitidly the Ultima looks better without the wing (and for raod driving you will never reach speeds high enough to warrant the need for it) but its a super car its meant to look different and maybe it looks uncomfortable to you but it isnt the seats are specialy made in house. I think if your going to spend all that time and money biulding a car it should'nt be something that could be mistaken for a gt40 or re-boded saloon.

  • You're certainly welcome to your opinion. :) I happen to find the ultima GTR a very cool looking car. Some love it, some not so much... the GTM is similiar. I believe the GTM is a beautiful car in person when built with the right level of detail, paint, tires and wheels. For what its worth, Ive had my GTM at concours shows and it gathered more people than the Ferrari's, Lambo's Bentleys next to it. It's stunning in person.

  • i agree, i saw white with blue stripes at a car, show, it blew me away. ive always wanted a c6, but now im hooked on a gtm.

i own and assembled my 10 sec. lsx 3500# street car .i can only imagine what my 500+rw engine would feel like a in a gtm. O_o

  • hmmm Hennessy GTM or a Lingenfelter GTM

any way it would be bad ass

  • this is not the best self build super car. the only real self build super car is the ultima gtr officialy the fastest car in the world bar non ( the veryon included) and its totaly original in the looks dept and has been built by enough people to perfect the build process so its easy to build. the ff gtm looks like a cheap gt40 replica and not a pretty one at that.

  • the gtm looks a hell of a lot better than the ultima. The gtm doesn't have a harsh line on it. it does look similar to a ford gt mixed with a ferrari or aston martin, but i like those kind of cars. The ultima looks too much like a track car and quite uncomfortable. how much does an ultima cost to make?

  • Factory "Five-star" video! Quiet the music down some to focus more on the engine notes from the car. Oh, and dub it with "Can't drive 55" or "Thunderstruck" and the icing would be on the cake!!

  • It looks like a Ford GT. ;)

  • awesome thought knowing you can have that car for under 40 grand

  • great car. good video. would be ALOT better if we were listening to the engine and exhaust notes, and not old and tired poison though..........

  • Factory five does make really great kits, my father's friend has a Cobra kit with a Boss 302 and if I remember right it was doing 11.16s in the quarter mile.

  • Love the look of this car. Just wondering how it would go on the track against a Ultima GTR?

Could you put Z06 suspension on it with an LS7?

  • The Ultima has the edge, but I can't understand why folks are tearing apart very well engineered cars only to reassemble them on other body/chassis variations - for a huge premium on top of the donor they've bought? GM invested heavily in the performance of the modern Vette; sure, the Z06 wears a familiar body BUT for a modest investement on top of the donor car, you can be right-up there on track times. Being different isn't worth all of the extra investment. Lower a Vette & put loud pipes on!

  • I see what your saying but the vette isnt 2300lbs, Mid mounted and as sexy :p

  • I guess for me, it's more a question of weighing advantages over extra cost. Kit builds routinely go over-budget & resale values face the dreaded kit 'stigma'. I've had a mid-engined car before & loved the sense of balance, but the modern Vette doesn't lose out in poise/handling for being front-engined. Ultimately, the extra hp generated from tuning an economically priced Vette will overcome any weight disadvantages, while retaining solid, 'type approved' engineering . As for not as sexy; sure.

  • i agree brother.

  • I wonder if there's anything like this with a Viper engine. As Porscheeater10 mentioned "just go buy a vette". That's a really good idea, I'd like the exotic look and sound with something like this, not just a convetional V8 sound, my Camaro already has that!

  • I saw one with a Mercedes CL55 AMG engine in it. 5.5L Supercharged V8 making 650hp and 600ft lbs. I never got so see it drive but I'm sure it moved!

  • Ahh...just go buy a vette and have yourself a warrenty to boot, and be done with it!

  • Nooooo.... That's not the point of the GTM Supercar. You have a super performance vehicle you built yourself. And a lot better looking than a vette.

Plus, how many of these do you see on the road?

  • shitty beer-can soundtrack though

  • All those Corvette goodies under the skin.

    w00t!

  • gt40 copy from front and ferrari from back :]

  • This does resemble the for GT40, but Aside from looks this car is a great performing car, for a lot less than a GT40, it performes better than a GT40, and just a little better than the Enzo, acceleration wise it whoops the enzo, put a couple turbos on this car, and it and the Ultima GTR will be the greatest performing cars in the world, and they're both kit cars, go figure.

  • Yep, this was my first impression too. I thought, it was the "Corvette-version" of a GT40.

But I also think, that it's slightly too long to be well proportioned!

  • yes, I think you totally nailed it!

  • It looks much more like the VW Nardo concept/record breaker.

I've got a C5 Z06 already, and interest in this kit. My question is how substantiated is the talk of the snap over steer? Is this really a compatent track car?

  • you'll never really know until yu invest all the money it take to invest in this car~! You can get awesome prices right now on vipers, and z06's....

  • I have to agree. The GTM looks cool but the reality is that if you build a kit or hot rod, chances are you won't recoup anywhere near your original investment... which, by the way, grows and grows beyond recognition (I'm talking from experience). There's a high price to pay for being different, and ultimately - it's not worth it. A C5 Vette can be bought for $16,000. With a few thousand more, it can be producing 500-600 Hp, and with that power it's all about the driving, not the posing...

  • Amen!

  • Yea... it's common sense really. I'd messed around with individual-build cars and loved being different, BUT you go way over budget without knowing it. With Vettes, you'll see depreciation until they bottom-out BUT kits or rods are never worth what you put into them, so you're gonna take a hit anway - just as well to take a hit on a smaller investment than a bigger one! After messing around with 'different' stuff, I finally bought an 04 Z06 Le Mans Commemorative - hands-down the best of 'em all!

  • Hmm...it looks like you are considering this from strictly a numbers perspective (performance #'s and financial #'s). You fail to take into account the fun of building a hot rod or kit car, commroderie with fellow hot rod enthusiates, hobby experiences, car shows etc. Which for REAL car guys, thats whats it all about.

  • Numbers/finances ultimately combine to make sense; most folks eventually rationalize when they've done everything else over time. I've had a custom-built 32 hot rod, a 41 Ford Custom, a 49 Mercury, & a couple of Model As. I've spent loads, worked on them some, done the shows, hung-out... none of that means you're a REAL car guy; it just means you still have the zest for 'participation'... I don't. REAL car guys can be tired of the 'scene' & going overbudget but be passionate DRIVING non-customs.

  • I'd rather have the fun and experience of building it myself. Vipers are pretty much just kit cars too..

  • Vipers aren't home-built so they're not kit cars. It's a case of 'horses for courses'. I like the look/sound of the GTM, but I have to question the bare logic of tearing apart a Vette to spend more money on a kit. The biggest Hot Rod 'fun' ethic is big HP on a low budget... if you can build a GTM for less than the price of a Vette then cool... if not, focusing money on HP rather than looks (as is the case with kit car building) is much more of a REAL car guy's pursuit.. in my humble opinion....

  • You can buy an engine without a Corvette . . . used ones come with different background and then there's a little company called GM Performance Parts. A new LS7 in one of these would be awesome. I'm wondering how long until someone drops in an LS9.

  • Haha, how is a Viper a kit car, no please explain that to me...

  • This car looks like a Pontiac Trans Am from the front

  • yeah it does, or a ferrari f430.

  • At first I couldn't understand how anyone could say this.

But you're right, at cetain angles, the resemblance is uncanny. Mainly the things on the GTM hoos looks like the WS6's ram air nostrils.

  • Very nice car!!! WHATS THE NAME OF THE SONG???THX

  • Kick start my heart - Motley Crue

Mid 80's hairspray my friend! :D

They're great until you hear them live. lol

  • good song choice! haha really get me in the mood!

  • according to the factory five website most ppl spend about 250ish hours building there kits. and you don't have to be a master car builder to put one together, just remember you are building a CAR! its not like putting together a model. one of these days i plan on having a gtm and mk3 cobra in my driveway. i love factory fives!

  • Amen brother!

  • how much do you need to know about car building to make a ffr gtm ?

  • If you have to ask that then you can't build it.

  • If you have lug nuts for eyeballs and the smell of petrol makes you smile, then you can build one. Just be prepared to spend a good 18 months or more of your spare time doing it!

  • haha

  • its either this or the type 65 coupe

  • i hope theses come to canada soon

  • Check with Jason Lavine at Factory Five. They are currently working on a program to import to Canada.

  • cool need cash flow first lol

  • Just order one, semi trailer drops it off in multiple boxes, you strip what you need from a 99+ vette, and spend 6 months in the garage.

  • Plus a Porsche "G50" trans axle Gearbox and the bell housing converter "look up Renegade Hybrids"

They will do the conversion for a mid-engine car running an LS series engine.

  • nuburgring anyone?

  • They wouldn't count it against the Viper or Corvette or GTR because it isn't a "production" car. I would still like to see it perform.

  • the song is kick start my heart by motly crue

  • whats the name of the song ?

  • Looking forward to building one after I complete medical school.

  • nice i hope these arnt hard to build

  • About 2000 hours and $60-$70k all said and done, depending on what type of engine you want and how much you spend on body work and paint.

  • 60-70 k would be a 5 or 600 hp version of this, those stats are on the stock LS1 motor. For a base model you will pay about 45 k

  • I don't know of anyone who has built a GTM for that cheap. If you found a steal on a donor car and then made profit on selling other parts on eBay you might get away with it. Also, people are typically using LS6 engines on these builds. If you attempt to build one for $45k it will look like a pile of garbage.
