  • AWESOME BAND!

  • There is any chance to get this concert in DVD or VHS or Sega cassette or any format? I'd do anything

  • @kikemaiden Typing "Wolfstone: Captured Alive VHS 1992 VHS Tape" into Google gives results for Amazon in the UK. I don't know whether that's any help to you in Argentina?

  • @UISTMAN59 Thanks a lot man! I don't know if I Amazon sends products to this side of the world but i'll try. Unless, now i know the name of the video, so, if i travel or i have any chance... It would be mine! Thanks againnn

  • i was just thinking this band sounded like rapalje with electric guitars!

  • @IIBrutalGrinderII I always thought of Rapalje as this band without the electric guitars :-) Both good though.

  • @IIBrutalGrinderII I think you'll find that it's Rapalje who sound like Wolfstone - they've been around a long time and pretty much invented this sound...

  • @tullochgorum

Rapaljes first recorded session of clasic irish songs: 1982

    Wolfstone foundation: 1989

just for a few years, but rapalje was first. Besides wolfstone plays classic irish songs too, so they didnt really invented this sound, i still think their music is pretty good

  • @IIBrutalGrinderII You win - I'd no idea that Rapaljes had been around so long!

  • @tullochgorum I think you are right . Even the Rapalje website doesn't claim the band is that old IT says "Dieb started his 'career' in 1994 when he met Maceál in his local pub '1672'. Since that is half the band , I don't think it much earlier than that.

  • @IIBrutalGrinderII Even the Rapalje website doesn't claim the band is that old IT says "Dieb started his 'career' in 1994 when he met Maceál in his local pub '1672'. They formed a band with some other musicians and played symphonic rock music. This music was soon changed into folkrock. After hearing some musicians in his local pub playing celtic folk music, the rock part was kicked out of the band and Dieb and Maceál started a duo called 'Ruk en Pluk'.

  • @kikemaiden Thanks for your note. Glad you enjoyed this one :-)

  • @UISTMAN59 thanks to you for uploading this! =) greetings from argentina!

  • I'm 22 and have loved wolfstone ever since i listened to them as a little girl. :D

  • Where have I been all my life? I never heard of this band before. They are fantastic!

    George

  • @pastore0506 Hi George. Thanks for the notes. This is my favourite of the three tracks posted. I thought you'd find your own way here soon enough after listening to "Hector" :-)

  • These guys have done a generational leap at my house. My 7-yr-old son has taken this tune to new heights. When his school class was asked to vote for a theme song, he wasn't happy with the choices so he pulled up this video. It was so well received that when put to a vote between Elvis' "hound dog" and wolfstone, the boys o' scotland won handily 23 to 1 (the teacher).

Many thanks uistman for all the vids you've posted here.

  • love this tune finally get to see a live vid of them better in concert by the looks of it.

  • again because of grampain tv!!!! bring back grampian tv!!!!

  • Go Wolfstone!!!!!!!!

  • Me and my friend do a Wolfstone irish cover! Watch it and comment please! =D

    /watch?v=2bpx16dbesk

  • i saw them at the magnum in Irvine a couple of times in the 90s, brilliant night. cheers Iain. for posting.

  • ive got a signed copy of an ivan drever album ,not one he made but one he owned ,my dad borrowed it years ago and never gave it back, says property of ivan drever on it ! lol

  • I love this tune!!! Makes me smile :)

  • For some reason I always return to this video.

God didn't "create" Scotland. It actually created the people in it :)) ... is it an exaggeration ?

  • For those pining for Ivan Drever and Andy Murray, they have got together to form a new band. The IVAN DREVER BAND hits the road next month around the Highlands. check out their myspace ivandreverband

    Fiona.x

  • Hi Fiona, thanks for your notes re Ivan's band.

  • Absolute gem Uistman59. Wolfstone were a massive influence to our whole generation, a true case of being "ahead of their time".

For some reasont The Battle will always be my favourite set. :)

  • who knows the title of this song? tell me please

  • This is not a song! The tunes are listed top right >>> Click on MORE INFO !

  • Totally awesome, I'm jumping round in my hoose! Thanks for sharing!

  • i remember seeing this on grampian tv ages ago and thinking it was great!!!!!

  • The best!!!

  • this'll make every hair on a Scotsman's body stand on end.!!!

  • long live a beer¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • ?! Must mean something to someone!

  • In the beginning there was nothing. Then God created an instrument and a country in the world to know all its secrets, never to share with the world. Their names were : Bagpipe, and Scotland !

  • Slight exagerration here. Scotland is not unique in having bagpipes. God didn't create "Scotland." Scotland has great bagpipe players but so do other countries e.g. Ireland, Canada, USA not to mention Italy, Bulgaria Greece etc. Yet it's amazing what can be done with nine notes (sometimes nine and a half!)

  • Thanks God that Scotland and his music exist.

Regards from Argentina, your music is the best. ¡¡¡

  • This has certainly made me smile! I think I'll have to dig out the video tomorrow and watch the whole thing. :)

  • Scotland rocking !! Phalaina

  • It's from the self released Caputured Alive video - 1992 - Aberdeen Music Hall ;-)

  • Thanks itsablack. I didn't know it was commercially available. Buy this video everyone!

  • Best of luck trying to find this video, i managed to buy it second hand from amazon.

Its an excellent vid, Wolfstone at their best.

Ok, they are still good ;-)

Are you going to Fort William to see them this friday?

  • no i'm too far north and back from holiday just today!

  • What do you mean too far north?

I'm too far south really and still made it LOL

    You missed a brilliant gig...

  • that's a pity but as I said I was just back from holiday that day Wednesday I had no more holidays + it takes too long + I don't drive!

  • you can't beat scottish music to really get your adrenaline pumping..............wow

  • how long ago was this?

  • You'll have to look at the 'Wolfstone : Captured Live' posting for the answer to that!

  • This was around 1991 or 1992

  • Thanks but the correct answer is on the the 'Wolfstone : Captured Live' posting , as I noted above!

  • ....and correct answer is: 1982

  • I'll give you a clue, Thunderburdone. Wolfstone came together in 1989.

  • Raging great performance...They are bringing the building down..

  • Jesus that was excellent would loved to have been there myself. Just bloody brillent

  • Thanks Fiachraconn. Glad you liked it.

  • Gee, why can't the Scottish come up with some music folks could really get into?! Yeeeeeeeeehaaaa! WOW!! I decided to check YouTube before toddling off to bed, but now I'm wide awake and twirling around the room. Thanks a lot. ;p (Love it, love it)
