after u ate a cherry around 8:00 i thought "i think i still have some cherries in the frige" =] so i went to the frige and sure enough there were a few cherries covered up by a bowl of grapes(both products from pricechopper, not

home-grown) so now i'm sitting here, watching the rest of this vid eaing cherries =] lol

herbs especally mint will grow like crazy and is hard to kill. now wen i plant vegtables i plant basil right next to it its a natrual pesticide and will help keep bugs away

Lime will keep slugs away. Lay some on the ground around your plants.

in michigan in some places you can still buy cherry bombs and stuff... the strongest you can legaly buy is like a quarter stick of dynamite

for slugs get a beer bottle with a little bit of beer left and they will crawl in and the shape of the bottle will prevent them from escaping. And for moths get peices of paper, large ones and make them in the shape of moths and place them in the garden, it'll scare them off.  Sounds insane but works effectivly.

Speaking of fireworks, I took a stroll south of the border into PA on Friday the 3rd... The fireworks stores were completely swamped.. I go to one in Erie called Big Woodies.. They sell knives too (cheapos), swords, stun guns, pepper spray etc. etc.. They were packed.

what my dad has found as far as moths, and as wierd as this sounds, put peices of eggshells in and around the garden because to them the white specks look like moth eggs and they wont go neer it because its already occupied. sounds wierd and a bit simple i know but it really does work, for the moths we had here (wisconsin) anyway. u should try it tho

Fireworks are illegal where I live... =( except for the city-run events of course. But then again, with the fire problems we have here in SoCal, it's probably better that way. Still sucks though!

But yeah, it looks like you've got a very cool garden going. Me and my dad were trimming the garden today so that it didn't get in the way of the pavers and the dock we have, and the oregano smelled really nice and almost lemony when if was first cut. And I gathered up the lavender that the trimmer cut off and my mom made a nice wreath with it. Herbs also just make the yard smell amazing!

I have a fairly nice herb garden in my backyard. A suggestion I would make is that you should try to grow some basil. What's the best is to grow a bunch of basil (and you can grow a substantial amount in not too much space) and then when it's good to pick go out and get some pine nuts and mix all the fresh basil leaves with the pine nuts and use a juicer or something to grind them all up together and make a really nice pesto and serve it over a nice batch of pasta, hot or cold. It's amazing.

If you have a problem with slugs I have a remedy.

Cut off the bottom of a plastic water bottle or a foam cup and fill it with some beer. Slugs are attracted to it and will go for a drink, fall in, and drown basically.

It sounds crazy but it works! ... And what a way to go

if you have a problem i would recommend putting putting out a few saucers of beer as they are attracted to the sugar in it so the will drown themselfs in the beer which is'nt a bad way to go but it dose work.

Better than mine at least. Thus far my crop of 2x jalapeno, 1x habenero and 1x cayenne have yielded all of two smoking hot cayenne. Would have had one habenero as well, but something ate into it a bit causing it to rot without my knowing.

It's been tough growing down here in TX this summer. Almost no rain and weeks of 100+ degree days.
