  • in Tohoku district, we cannot see those bikers during winter. instead we can see senior citizen who pulls a sled.

    (;・∀・)

  • Man, I live in the states and if I had to drive on the left side of the road I think I would be TOTALLY confused.

  • There are so many in the UK, you usually see them corralled outside the places old people like to visit.

  • In the U.S. they'd be run down. :(

  • 2:35 lambda cache nearby?

  • Thank you for the great video. Thumbs up.

  • Excellent video, I love the independence and free spirit style as well. What cool old dudes!

  • アレは、日本のFreeza Vehicleです。

  • Where i live in the US it seems to be mostly very obese people who use these things. When I go to Atlantic City to any casino there are flocks of them tooling along dragging their coolers and oxegen with them from the slots to the all you can eat buffets!

  • so yeah thanks for the video

  • My grandpa rode a 50 cc moped to a lake so he could go fishing. That's pretty much all he did when he was retired from the farmer's position. Once he took me a little boy for a ride in a tractor in the Winter and we tried to go up a steep hill but lost grip and slid downhill backwards really fast and in a very uncontrolled manner. Didn't hit anything though, and we just went back home and kept quiet about it. The best ride of my life, grandpa losing control of the tractor... Grandpas are golden.

  • We have a high elderly population here in Florida, but they seem to prefer used golf carts. They are not allowed on the roads though. Our general population doesn't have the respect or patience to make that work unfortunately.

  • lol. ive seen the 3 wheel upgrade. its functions very similar to a motorbike (like a crotch sports bike). I think it maxes around 70km/hr to 100km/hr. so it can go higher speeds: the bike has hydraulics to lean the bike into the correction direction for the turns. Else it would just flip. Concept and prototypes are the best <3

  • They're very common in the Netherlands as well, to bad our elderly drive way to fast on them and can be rather dangerous.

  • @drewman415 So true.

  • 1:53 Like a Bossss

  • i havent seen any cruising around central tokyo

  • i definitely need one of these and i´m 19!

  • Will you be putting yout newly inherited old ride to use at all?

  • seems really fun.. why younger people didnt use it too? :DDD

  • Im sure he is not a poor old fella. Im sure he enjoys the wind blowing and going outside. The agesim in japan is scary due to the way the elderly are treated.

What are your views on the way the Japanese treat the elderly?

  • Those old folks are B.A. :D

  • We see those in NZ all the time :D

  • Doesn't every country have those?

  • I Wonder ? ?_? ? If they'll Ever make 1 with a full LOW RIDER Ground effects Package?????

Would be hilarious to watch that it someone ever did.....ROFL

  • Do they use these scooters inside stores? The place I work we often get seniors cruising around in the store on those things, which can be...hazardous.

  • Which button makes it turn into a giant mecha?

  • Sooo Cool!!!

  • Hell's Sofubo, bonzai!!!

  • make a new video with "Born to be wild" playing! hahaha, wicked cool video!

  • at 1:43 is was thinking how funny it would have been if a Train passed by and nailed that old guy on the tracks. hahaha im sorry guys. in reality i would never wish for something that horrid, but in my mind i find it comical. O_o

  • i wish i am that awesome when i get old cool video thanks

  • when i read the title to this video I quickly imagined old guys with a bunch of tattoos in leather jackets... lol

  • Maybe it would go if you took the anvil off the back? LOL!

  • As an American, I can tell you, I need two of these just to check the mail. Why two? Well my butt is so large it won't fit on just one electric scooter. I'm just so massive and fat what I had to do was tape two of these vehicles together. Please don't be jeallous of how awesome I am, not everyone is fat and cool enough to drive two electric scooters at once.

    xP

  • wot? i thought japan was an English colony, that's why they drive on the left side, but why does the motor chair is in KM/h?????

  • @hitachi088 because EVERYONE uses km/h. mph is only for Americans that have not switched to the universal measuring system. america should get its shit together and switch to a system that is BaSeD on something ( a rule of 10's, the freezing/boiling point of Water).

the imperial system that utilizes miles per retardation is just based on some old nonsensical mans want to invent something

  • @julingy ohh, thank you for the information. i dont travel that much so i didn't realize that.

  • Boy I hope that I can be as active when I'm their age :-D

  • They are a pain in the ass in Britain they drive down the middle of the roads at 5mph and im talking about main roads cars are trying to to 40mph... O.0

  • where i live they like to run you over in the shopping malls. thanks for the video

wait......that might be a good thing it keeps the rest of active dodging them.lol

  • Its not really safe for old people to ride on the public street. Ive never seen them in Nagasaki though. Too many slopes.lol

  • Hah! The battery was cactus. That's just... fun. Cactus? Really?

  • It do be fantastic to see a bunch of them driving down the road like a proper gang~~

  • MOOOOOORE VIDEOS COOOOOOOOMING SOOON.

  • I need to get one for my 90 year old grandpa.

  • I just have to say, I love your channel! I find it so useful, I'm saving up to go on a student exchange to Japan hopefully in my grad year, so your channel helps a lot :)

  • Lots of these things in Britain too! Quite often you'll see an entire gang of old age citizens riding around on these. Like 10 to 15 riding down the street :P

  • This is one of your best videos. Good show mate. Combining the history and the mechanical made it click for me. Details are good. Use that pattern more. Gimme INFO!

  • love k cars love your car :)

  • I don't understand how the battery lasts long enough for long trips. Wish my mom would get one.

  • @TubaBuddha Its not hard to go 20 miles on a small battery with a light weight vehicle.

Theres so many misconceptions about electric power vehicles :(

  • I just got a friend's power chair working with new batteries and some adjustments, but he isn't able to go fully about his small town in California due to a lack of space on the roads for such semi-vehicles. He had a stoke that knocked out most of his left side limb actions. All he can do is go about his residential neighbourhood and scoot off to a local park, but he can't make it to the local shopping center to pick up groceries & play bumper cars with others in wheelchairs.

  • People in japan invest a lot of their money into technology to give older people some last good years something more countries should do. because one day you'll be old too.

  • They see me rollin... They hatin....

  • I like how you said people in japan give people who drive those electric scooters lots of respect and give lots of room. Here in America people will almost hit the people with their cars if they ever get in the roads. In my town Ive heard people even run them over.

  • My gran has one of these scooters and she goes tearing all over the countryside in it. Seriously, we once had to go rescue her because she had gotten the scooter stuck trying to take a shortcut through a boggy field. These really open up doors for people with limited mobility.

  • Hmm, electro-mobility does work it seems.

  • You know it's for old people when the fastest it goes is 6 km/h; i get out of my garage faster than that.

  • You're quickly becoming my favorite vlogger in Japan.

  • Stalker of old people.. Japan is really getting into him

  • Brit here. A few years ago there was a rather old bloke who used to walk with a stick and take 10 minutes to get down the street, which wasn't even 100m. I remember feeling so sorry for him not being able to get around easily, even a quick visit to the shop seemed a struggle for him. Sometime last year I noticed him flying down the street with a big grin on his face riding his scooter with nothing but a newspaper in his basket - made my day.

  • @liamliam6 that is awesome! :D made my night reading your comment :)

  • that's so adorable! I'm glad to see they're out and about instead of being stuck inside all day. prob another reason why they live longer ^_^ I love Japan even more now!

  • people that are full of hate make me laugh because misery loves company. thats why they will die alone.

  • Crank that thing to 11

  • I would be that one "wild man" who would upgrade my scooter to make it go faster lol

  • I'm feeling like a "wild man".....I think I will go 6 km/hour ^_^ Those darn bicycles better not overtake me...>.>

  • My grandmother rode her bike untill the age of 85, untill alzheimer's didn't allow her to do that saffely anymore. She lived in Holland, and there bikes and scooters are really popular. I already saw an old lady that seemed to be in her 90s riding her bike and smoking "something".

  • My grandad is 87, he still drives an automatic, start to get a little worried about him and other drivers... little scooter like this would probably be ideal... (from the UK)

  • Whats the milage on say a modern built little electric scooter thingy?

  • A more interesting phenomenon might be that battery turning into a cactus! Do a video on that!

  • Are there places to plug in to recharge?

  • Okay, I gotta ask. How the heck do you tell if you have gotten your car or bike on a footpath by accident? All the roads and footpaths look the same! Is the rule: If it fits and there is no sign, go for it?

  • did you buy a kei truck?

  • Americans use them too... but not for being too old, but when they get too fat.

  • @drewman415 just what i was thinking!

  • @drewman415 That's the truth. I haven't seen a single old person using one at the store in forever, always people weighting 400 pounds and practically killing the thing 1/2 way through the store.

  • @drewman415 Yeah, just watch Wall-E!

  • @drewman415 you know I would probably get mad, if you were not completely correct.

  • @drewman415 first thing that came to my mind lol

  • @drewman415 I'm disappointing that your statement is true.

  • You should replace the battery and ride it around, mess with people's heads a bit. :D

  • Beautiful landscape in the background!

  • My dad drove a car past his 90s. I think 2 wheelers are not safe for old folks. 2 wheelers would be nice.

  • Same here in NL, age does not matter. It was a big culture shock moving form Scotland to here. I was not used to this.

  • lol, if I come to Japan I'm getting one!

  • @ramsien I think he meant the battery was dry

  • I used to live in Little Saigon in So. California for six years and the elderly love to walk in the mornings and afternoons. These are great.

  • in recent news, the population of Japan will be fifty percent senior citizens in about twenty years !!

  • Did he say 'the battery was cactus'?

I'm not familiar with that expression.

  • @ramsien He said that, didn't he.

  • I like these mirrors along a road :)

  • @TheJapanChannel I love the sake serving set! A little bad news though, I lost 2 cups and a pitcher. Oh, they are here, in a few pieces. But the others, 3 sups came out fine and the other pitcher came off with a fair-sized chip out of the lip on one side. Search for my username on tumblr if you want to see for yourself.

    Safety on numbers? lol

Also, thanks for the video! I'm glad as much as you are to see some senior citizens still ding their thing. (Enough said lol)

  • listen up fat Americans, you keep eating that meat you wont last as long as the Asians, its that Asian plant diet that will let you live long without your cancers and heart disease

  • Thats great to know that they are treated with respect while in traffic.

  • How much is it for petrol in Japan ?

  • its HEEEEEY GUYSSS, not hello guys...such noobs

  • @robertha right! i dont know why i wrote hello! i was thinking hey!

  • If you're feeling like a wild man it got the 6 km per hour xDD

  • I have so much respect for seniors in Japan and they are quite fun to hang out with sometime. I have encountered these before and it's really impressive how independent they are. The area reminds me of Kyushu country side :)

  • Thank you :)

  • Haha, cool stuff! Liked and faved, keep them coming man!

  • HHHEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeyyYYYYYY GGGGGGGUUUUuuuuuuuuyYYYYYYYsSSS!!!!!!!!

  • Lol ..... veteran bikers XD

  • you sure got a weird fetish mate! ;-)

  • Man, I like the way he's pronouncing "stuff" XD

  • HELLOOO GUYYYS!

  • @jodelle6 moore videos coming soon...

i just love you and you channel so much!
