sure, they usually just give it to anybody. just click the "director" graphic below my icon in the description box and it'll take you to a form to apply for director status. sometimes it might take too long for them to get back to you, but if that happens, you can just write to customer service. well, that's what i did. and next thing i knew, i was a director! good luck.
