@JayToTheHonest No, if you look closely at the player's lips seated in the far right, you can tell he's playing the solo before the section solo, which means it goes from first to fourth from right to left.
@coolhsj That argument doesn't quite convince me because if you look at the player far to the left, his lips are way more synchronized to the solo than the ones of the player far right... And apart from that, the first two players on the right play the way lower notes ;) The two horn solo is in the first and second horn part (please believe me, I've played it:) and you can see the fingers of left and second left player synchronizing to the triplets in the end.
Think about it; it is a logical way to seat the horns. The fourth horn almost always has the fundamental note of the chord, and his bell faces the section, not the first horn. It makes the intonation easier.
it looks soo great!! :)

What's with the rhythm? Swear it goes off-kilter in the first horn's arpeggio.

I guess the most left player is nr. 4, is that Hans Fischer or Peter Hoffmann? Maybe next time don't use two indices (left/right and 1/2/3/4).

no, in this recording the first horn player sits most left and not most right.
maybe they sit on the left side of the orchestra and not on the right, so the first hornist has to be left-out ;-)

@moaltmann
I certainly recognize Herrn Altman and Fischer, but do not know Herr Hoffmann. Was he a regular solo horn with the VPO?
