  • What caused the crash? who was at fault?

  • @Jerimiah1977 The young driver in the car. He initially drove off the edge on the right side and overcorrected which brought him abruptly back in the roadway and left of center.

  • GO SOONERS!

  • There could've been kids in the backseat of that car... Good thing there wasn't.

  • Very true, a seat belt saved my life and it can save yours too!

  • welcome to the shit safety cars of the late 80's :)

  • it looks like the car shat itself

  • holy crap look at the back of that car 1:56

  • this is better quality then some new cameras...

  • Makes me glad i refuse to buy a car newer than 1973. Gas prices be damned, i want good old Detroit steel around me. I t-boned a Toyota that ran a red light with my 1973 Cutlass. I drove my car home,, replaced the headlights and the broken grill. The guy in the toyota was in the hospital for 3 months. 'Nuff said.

  • @panheadchick1212 Actually, it's been proven time and again that the newer technology with crumple zones, advanced handling characteristics, airbacgs, and ABS have a greater impact on saving human life than "Old Detroit Steel". If you had ABS, you probably would not have even hit the Toyota hard enough to put him in the hospital.

  • @panheadchick1212

no... that's just why you buy a car with a good safety rating. if the guy was going 100km/hr like what was the likely speed in this accident that detroit steel would have made you a nice pair of bracers, nuff said.

  • wow this video was taken ten days after i was born

  • Oh that was shot Roughly around 20 years ago... What kind of camera were u using? Can u give me a model number?

  • @MrTONYTONYM It was a Sony standard 8mm camcorder that I bought in 1991, I'm sorry I don't remember the model number.

  • 3:00

I SEE YOUR REFLECTION BIG BOY!

  • @TheInlovewithJB Or that guy is from oklahoma and he drove his car through there...stupid kid.

  • i thought 0:23 was blood on the door:)

  • @Sanijfu It's mud.

  • @randy946 i know it is but i was just saying what it looked look(:

  • that car will still run and drive

  • I love Seatbelts :D glad their okay!!

  • I was involved in an auto accident in 2005 in which I was hit from behind in what appeared to be a amateur version of the "pit maneuver". I careened across a lane, hit a curb and barrel rolled a convertible with a soft top (the top was up). Four times.. and I landed tire side down in the ditch. I was wearing my seat belt and the cops who helped me get out said that if I hadn't.....they'd been calling for a coroner. Broken collar bone and fractured shoulder blade....lived to tell about it. :)

  • chevy

  • is tht his foot on 2:30 DISGUSTING!

  • @firerider23 No, it's just dirty clothes. The driver was the only occupant of this vehicle and he was treated and released from the hospital.

  • If you dont wear your seatbelt your a jackass. It takes 5 seconds. But if your retarded enough to think not wearing a seatbelt is cool then maybe you should checkout documentingreality dhot com.

  • My dad is a firefighter so he goes to car accidents very often and he told me that every death in an accident that he's responded to has been because of no seat belt

  • ya, if you're not gonna pay attention, at least wear your seat belt.

  • seatbelt ain't gonna help you much if your car is smashed like a soda can.

  • damn woman driver

  • @chancewwe Both were males.

  • @chancewwe didnt know kitchens were being built in cars

  • that why its dangerus if you drive a rust bucket as it will fall apart in a crash

  • even this will be TWO YEARS OLD.. that was an actual police officer recording what went where and how it happen..... crazy I didn't know cruiser carry HANDHELD.

  • thats y i got five point harness's

  • dude...weres my cars back doors?

  • yeah thx to my seatbelts i am alive today and well just some scars from the window

  • good video, good message

  • I had a friend that was wearing a seatbelt that was automatic and was rearended and than rolled over and it almost killed him by crush ing his spine; so i won't ride in a car that has seatbelts that go over the shoulder

  • yay! almost on my birth day ;DD 28-03-1993!

  • people dont buy a geo !!

  • Just lucky there was no one in the back seat of the small car. Seat belts wouldn't have saved them from being ripped in half.

  • More like "where my seatbelt?"

  • dame same thing wet me put the hod curled bak an i almost ckut my head off tht wat scary

  • 2:05 oh shit!

  • Used cars half off. 2:04

  • last week, my brother was in a car crash and walked away from it. he was wearing his seat belt. he wasent drinking. it was at night time and my brother was racing his freind to his house. he was 30 and the speed limit was 10. and there was a very sharp corner up ahead. and there was a tree right at the corner. and he hit the tree. the whole front part was totalled. and he had a friend in the car, tyler. they were both not injured. he very lucky.

  • well had his seat belt on thats good he was thinking

  • My son at 19yrs old on black ice 1.30am had the most horific crash, hit a tree 60mph and the car flipped and rolled hitting other trees, eventually it stopped and he got out with a bruise and graise where the seatbelt had saved him, the luckiest day of my life and I strongly recomend you ALWAY wear one, it saved his life for sure, mine too I guess

  • Eaozed..

You don't wear your seatbelt in town because of traffic jams? Really? I've been ' in town' plenty of times sitting in dead stopped traffic, and still saw accidents where people have been severely injured. That doesn't mean that there isn't that opportunity where ONE idiot 5 or 6 cars back comes barreling over the hill, to his surprise the traffic is stopped and he slams on the breaks goes sliding into the traffic and causing a chain reaction of rear end collisions.

    I hope you never s

  • yeah if someone was sitting in the back seatbelt or not they would have been dead.

  • did the van tear the back of that car off?. if so im glad i drive my big old boaty rigs than small cars damn!!!!

  • i was in an accident a little worse than this abouut a year and a half ago, i was in the rollover vehicle that was hit by another vehicle in the passgenger door, going about 65-70, i was told that if i didnt wear my seatbelt i would have been out my window with my cell phone that flew out about 50 feet away, my seat belt tore about half way through the belt itself because of impact, both me and the other drive left the scene without major injuries

  • @Red04MonteLS

    lucky you man....

  • we had a masda with two seats faced backwards in the boot. nothing better to do than to stick your fingers up at everyone

  • oh god the 50s, 60s, and 70s always had nice cars. lol the 80s and 90s cars always looked dirty and ugly.

  • I don't think that was a car that crashed. I think it was the guys house based on what all he had in it...

  • What was in the Van?

  • @arcvending34 I don't remember what was in the van, the two occupants suffered only minor injuries.

  • @arcvending34

    broke?

  • I've been in a bad accident before & been at the scene of many, if the accident is bad enough there's no seatbelt in the world that will save a life.

  • cuz the front airbags opens after the front impact, sides aribags will open at side impact, watch carefully, at this car and u will see that it;s old enought to not have those airbags protection, capishi?

  • Sadky for me the 1st car crash it was bad i was wearing a seatbelt,

2nd 1 was bad i was not wearing a seatbelt.

  • If anyone was in the rear passenger seat of that Geo, I doubt they would have survived, with or without a seatbelt. Or at least seriously injured. That's a really bad crash. Who knew you could tear off the rear end of a car like that?

  • I won't argue with you about seat belts. I'm a firm believer in them. Stock car racing is to thank for that. As a kid watching races I realized the seat belts were a very good thing. I even got both my parents to start wearing theirs. Maybe 1966 or so.

  • Actually no, it was Preston Tucker to thank for that. But you can thank the American government for not allowing an innovative product onto the market.

In fact, go read his letter now and you'll see his prediction of the Japs being the leaders forty years ago.

  • @pantstofry mhm, just my observant behaivor ahhahaha

  • He's lucky it didn't hit a couple feet closer to the front.

  • i was two days old when this was taken.

  • Ford 1 - Chevy/Isuzu 0.

  • old school weight reduction

  • Why can't vehicles be made like sprintcars' safety features? My friend has crashed many times and he's only suffered minor head concusions.

  • In my country it is illegal to have a roll cage in a street registered vehicle, makes no sense to me either, it makes the car stiffer and improves handling and makes serious injury near impossible, proof the government cares nothing about safety and more about making money from fines

  • Wow I forgot how ugly the vehicles were back in the day but the only vehicles that were good in those days were the Chevy Camero's, Chyenne, and Silverados

  • Ur not good in ur mind, back then cars were lot more beauty than nowadays....

I love the old muscle cars. Nowadays the renault megans and crapts like that look damn ugly...

I love the old bests remember the ferrari f40 and f50...

  • @PhreshOo americrap cars?

  • wear your seatbelt even if its not cool whats more important life? or coolness? think about it

  • @runout111

    uhm it's coolness , eh?

  • ..........well if you think about it i mean you think you cool thats what i mean er sumthin but basically my point is wear a seatbelt or else this happens

  • :) ja of course

  • yea try not wearing a seat belt and get in a crash now a days. The air bag alone will almost always kill you by breaking your neck.

  • The prizm is actually a re-badged Toyota corolla,All Prizms were built at NUMMI (New United Motor Manufacturing, Inc), a joint venture plant between Toyota and General Motors in Fremont, California.

  • In the previous comment When I was talking about the majority of the vehicles didn't have them from 94 to 96 is air bags. That is when they where getting popular. I"m more of a honda and toyota type. They have the top selling cars with the best safety ratings.

  • That isn't Japanese. That is a Geo Prism. Made by General Motors. And the majority of cars didnt even have them it somewhere between 94 and 96. I agree with thegooorooo. if it is your time to go, then it is your time. I am a seat belt wearer. but I have heard two of crashes that someone would have died from a seat belt. Convertible flip and seat belt would have decapitated in the other. I still like the comfort of mine though.

  • but isnt geo prism MADE in japan and re-badged by gmc??? like the late 80's 'challenger/sapporo, made by mitsubishi? years ago,my mom got hit so hard sideways, that it ripped her seat off the brackets.EMS said if she had seat belt on, she would've been dead. and she was a passenger.her back/discs are screwed though.

  • The prizm is actually a re-badged Toyota corolla,All Prizms were built at NUMMI (New United Motor Manufacturing, Inc), a joint venture plant between Toyota and General Motors in Fremont, California.

  • thanx for clarifiying this to me-----charlie

  • You got that right always wear your seatbelt

  • OWW! that must have hurt

  • The black car got the badest hit!!!!!!!!!

  • i can only think of two reasons why there was no air bag

    1) it didnt have one

    2) the sensors are at the front, there is no frontal impact. Similar to the crash i was in, we rolled 4 times and the car was destroyed but becuase the front was all intact no airbag went off, and the car was a 2005 clio

  • This vehicle had no airbag and if it had, as you point out, it's likely it would not have deployed since this was essentially a side impact.

  • they have side are bags now for exacty this reason

  • @randy946 What happened to the occupant of the Ford van?

  • What happen to the airbag doesn't it supposed to come out

  • what are loading marks

  • Stretch marks on the seatbelt caused by the extreme stress placed on it by the occupant during the collision.

  • ohhh...thanx

  • @randy946 my wife haves stretch marks

  • I am amazed at the stupidity of people who refuse to wear their seat belts. There are NO valid excuses to not wear your seat belt. Every excuse you have can be easily overcome by common sense explanations as to why you SHOULD wear your seat belt.

  • Some people still believe its their chioce to wear a seatbelt. Honestly, it doesnt matter if your wearing a seatbelt or not, if its your time to go, your going whether your wearing a seatbelt or not.

  • If you don't in a car crahsh, you died. So if that happened when you didn't wear your seatbelt, your only lucky, but your luck isn't coming back! FOREVER!

  • Are you kidding me?

Personal choice weighs VERY heavily into whether or not you die in life.

Don't believe me? Okay, go jump in front of a semi truck going 80 mph and see if your 'time to go' idea works for you.

Wear your seat belts folks, don't be stupid.

  • To hell with a honda or any other little car out there. Get a truck. Ford, Chevy, Dodge, w/e. Somthing big that can take a hit. And of course still wear your seat belt :p

  • Seat belts are great! I'll argue about the airbags though.

They are designed to go off ONLY ONCE...!

If you get hit a 2nd or 3rd time in the same wreck, the seat belts and the grace of God himself are the only things that will save your life.

  • Airbags can also cause grievous injury to an unrestrained driver or occupant. They are designed to work with the seat belt, not in spite of it. And you're right, if there's a second or third impact, the airbag's finished and you're relying on the integrity of the seat belt to improve your odds of survival.

  • lolz they got owned lol hate to be in that car

  • Holy S!It looks to me like someone did die,but I believe the one who said they all lived.

  • make it a habbit. :) wear ur seat belt

  • thats why u dont buy honda

  • Actually Honda is one of the best brands out there.

  • goin way too fast too.

  • Wow, 16 years ago today, that's sorta creepy lol, Glad they all lived.

  • I am happy to say that I ALWAYS wear my seatbelt. I have been in two rollover accidents (not really bad rollovers, but still...) and I have walked away from both accidents without a scratch because of my seatbelt. SEATBELTS SAVE LIVES

    also...what are "loading marks"?

  • whoa. how do you get into 2 rollover crashes. wouldnt u learn after the first?

  • I didn't say I was driving. I just said i was in 2 rollover accidents. I was wearing my seatbelt during both accidents and I walked away from both without any injury.

  • @apuppetapuh not always seatbelt saves lives. If there is a crash above 180 km/h then there is a high probability that a seatbelt may cut drivers or pasengers body. I've seen one accident that happened above 200 km/h on road like in this video and a car was full with 4 teenagers. Front passengers flew out of the car because they did not have seatbelts on and stayed alive and one of girls sitting in a back died on spot because here body was cut into peaces by seatbelt.

  • @eaozed OMFG. But the G-force would be fatal even at 120km/h head on at the impact

  • @123dodgecharger the went off the road and crashed in a few trees

  • @eaozed

look at the numbers and take the high percentage of numbers. The chances are way better with seatbelts on. I'm not saying your not right, but still you might wanna wear them anyways....

  • @samenindewereld Well I'm not saying that do not wear them but just pointing out that may happen at high speeds. I'm always wearing a seatbelt on highway but in town not cause it makes no sence because of traffic jams :)

  • @apuppetapuh When you are in an accident and you wear your seatbelt, police officers sometimes look for a bruise or mark from the seatbelt on you. I was rear ended in my old Mazda 929 by a Semi going 45-50 mph, I was fine, but they check every now and then.

  • wow

  • I'm wondering how this happened

  • The small car was traveling north and drifted off the right side of the road. He over corrected and went across the road and ran partially off the left side and was heading back to the right again when the southbound white van collided with him.

  • geez, another foot forward and the guy in the car would have been sheared off like the back end. wow.
