@hardrivefreak A trainer in the area who breeds GSDs imported from Germany thought so, but he was adopted so there is no way to know for sure. If he isn't a mix, he has all of their recessive traits, e.g. mostly black, long coat.

I'm getting a German Shepherd/Border Collie mix and I can't wait to finally have him ^3^ he is black with 4 white paws and a white chin lol looks like teeth :3 he is only 3 weeks old right now. he is soooo cute! your doggies are very cute by the way ^w^

@SumikoMikazuki She was rescued from a hoarding situation were she was starved and abused. The vet she goes to (who has BCs) said she could have had one parent that was a BC mix, or she could have had growth complications due to her life before I found her but still be a pure bred BC. I don't care either way, she's a sweet pup and though it was hard, she's overcome a lot in her short little life.

We never have snow in Hong Kong.

Thank you! They do get along great, even more so now than when this was filmed. Tonks (the border collie) is no longer scared of the snow either! We think that winter was the first time she had ever experienced snow and was scared to death of it the first two times we woke up to a white yard. This was the first time she seemed more interested in playing :)

She is wearing a shirt because she was recently adopted from a rescue that got her from a southern state. She wasn't used to the cold weather in PA, and though I normally do not advocate clothes for dogs (they have fur) she couldn't stay outside long and was crying because Sirius could play longer. You'll notice after we realized she was okay with the snow & no longer scared of it, we took the shirt off her.

How old is the Border Collie?

She was adopted the summer before this was taken, so we are a little unsure of her exact age. She was also starved as a puppy (among other things) but we estimate she was just under a year or so old when this was filmed. Even at her adult size, she is still quite small for a border collie (though still normal (if you see Dazzle, a purebred BC that does amazing things here on youtube, Tonks is the same size).

I said in the description but you might have missed it. She was a puppy from a southern rescue and this was her first experience with both the cold and the snow.

I normally do not advocate clothes for dogs but at the time she was very sensitive to cold temperatures, and was quite upset that Sirius was playing outside and she couldn't (abuse before her adoption made her fur quite thin). Once she was no longer concerned with the snow, I removed the shirt.

The German Shepherd is mine, and the Border Collie is my boyfriend's but they make an interesting pair and tend to keep each other entertained :)

the border collie is actually 11!! but she acts like a puppy :) lol. we have a yorkshire terrier too and all they do is chase eachother ALLLLLLL day it's pretty funny to watch. :)

Thanks! The big dog (Sirius) LOVES the snow, but until this video the smaller dog (Tonks) had major issues. This video was a turning point for her and now she loves it too.

This was the first time Tonks showed any interest in the snow. Sirius LOVES it and will actually cry to go out and play anytime he sees snow falling. I used to have a picture of him sitting outside looking up as the snow fell as my profile picture. VERY cute!

LOL Dogs (and kids) playing in the snow, you just can't find a happier scene! Good thing they are both black with all that snow! I miss snow!
