I am in a motorised wheelchair because I have deterioration in my spine, sciatica in my left and possibly right leg and the onset of premature arthritis in my fingers at the age of 25. I am in constant pain, the pain killers are all so strong I am mentally incoherent, unable to walk straight or stay awake and can't take them. The short version is I have a choice now between staying at home without a carer or staying at home with a carer and not going to uni. Rock and a hard place springs to mind
