I have played Boellmanns Toccata on the ACHCCO, I was privileged to have even been able to have played on it, as it is half functional and a historic masterpiece.
Don't you think treating the canon as a trio sonata (omitting the viola part) would be more effective than a concertato-styled huge-chords interpretation? That way the voices can be brought out much clearer.
I did not like the last three chords...no tremulant in something like that, it's just not the right registration for such a great tocatta like that...I give it two a a half stars.
