Actually the argument for Bush being a war criminal is valid.  He may not have committed genocide, but the case could be made that the war in Iraq is a war of aggression.

In order to be a legal war it must meet at least one of the criteria.

1. Be sanctioned by the UN (it was not)

2. Be in direct response to national defense (It was ARGUABLY not)

3. Be in response to attacks against a nation with which you have a defense pact (which it was not)

Of course, the housing bubble is a separate event that also screwed up the economy. But when you have draining resources meeting with poor financial practices, the result can never be good.
