The worst thing they could have done for moose populations in Ontario is cancel the spring bear hunt. To further compound the issue they issue every moose hunter a calf tag which is valid anywhere in ontario. It has gotten to the point where moose numbers are way down in our province and declining. If i were there watching that i would have shot bear in the head with my 30-06 and anything that contested me.

The number one predator of the Moose is the Black Bear. They can smell a new born calf which wolves cannot. This is a very normal occurrence in the spring time although that was a pretty large calf. Great footage as it is not normally seen let alone recorded.
