  • Rock'n'Roll with two great R !

  • One of my first favorites, had my sisters tape in the Walkman, mainly because of him and laura branigan (rip), but some other songs were also good though.

  • GO ON NIK with the prs custom 24 santana yellow, lol, yet another uk musician playing the prs guitars.....

  • Quality writing and good sound production - clean crisp sound. Still getting people toe-tapping after all these years.....

  • If the horns weren't awesome enough @ 3:24 the background vocal kicks in (is that a harmonizer on Nik?) only to realize it's the trombone player @3:40 kicking in the high harmony. A band is a powerful thing.

  • @lespaulfanofsparta the song is really well written that also is 90% of it :)

  • Fooking Amazing, your looking good mate !

  • Awesome job! Love Nik!

  • This sounds NOTHING like i thought it would...refund?

  • Ronald McDonald on the bass

  • That's not Nik Kershaw!! What, it is? No way!! What? I lived on this stuff in the 80's - and he has passed the test of time - vocals just as good, great backing group - just fantastic!! Thanks for posting.......

  • aweosme awesome awesome...wouldnt it be awesome if music were still this good today?

  • Just 2 years younger than me. Frankly, he looks too bloody healthy. A talented bugger as well. New stuff is just as good as the old stuff.

  • How refreshing to see how good Nik looks and that he can still sing!

  • From Masterchef? Good one mate - thanks for the laugh you just gave me.

  • is that the bald headed man off masterchef on the trumpet?

  • @semiization: Sorry, it can't be. There can't be a bigger twat on the planet than the bald headed bloke off MasterChef. I love the base, the buttery-biscuit-base.

  • i love youtube, to me its a time machine, i just got back to my young years..i was 16..why music changed so drastically..i would give anything to be able to go back 30 years back..

  • @tazz73000 If you find a time machine let me know so I can go with you. Today's music is dumbing down this generation. The 80's is where it's still at!

  • @tazz73000 i was only 12 lol but loved this song and remember kershaw and howard jones very well...

  • @tazz73000 Think I was 8 when this was out, he was my first crush (still would lol) god bless youtube and all that remanis in her ;) ps sorry about naff spelling xx

  • @tazz73000 THINK TWICE...! I LIVE IN ARGENTINA AND I FEEL THE SAME..."ITS A HEARTACHE...."

  • OMG! He looks and sounds Great!

  • Wow- when I was 18 I had a crush, now in the 40's I got it back. Sexy voice and accent.

  • AMAZING voice, still the same as when I was 12 years old with the biggest crush on him, his posters on my wall and all his albums on vinyl LOL

  • There is still that magic around Nik. No matter the age. Do you feel that magic?

  • am I right in saying, pop music used to be better? More original and less rip off?

  • @loquayrocks yes but this version live version here was better than his 80s version by far, although it does show how well this song was written because it still sounds just as good 30 years later!

  • Sounds very good live, even though he must have played that song 1 million times. Kudos for Nick!

  • why has he got a minge on his head

  • @megaEDWIN3 If only he had mine on his face.

  • @XFudgeXJunkieX Will I do

  • @megaEDWIN3 If you look anything like Kershaw you can smash me back doors in, mate.

  • 80's and Nick ROCK!

  • Thanks Nik for writing lyrics with substance. You inspire me.....

  • Wouldn't it be good to live in Norway.

  • Toujours aussi bon

  • Damn im happy that under these 80's music videos no thumb whore gets thumbs up but rather flamed by normal people. The music isnt the only thing good about that era.

  • If we ever figure out how to time travel, I wanna go back to the 80s. Music was so much better then.

  • I've got it bad for this song!! Thumbs up!

  • @blameitonblackstar fail thumbs up

  • @AnerchX 53

  • Now that is a live performance, played Nik.

  • A timeless classic

  • still beautiful Nik, but whats with the haircut???

  • it's always fun to see 80's artists today (or, at least, fairly recently) and how different they look. i've always loved this song.

  • Wouldn't it be good to see some of his more recent material... (I don't have it, maybe someone else?)

  • seen him live in newcastle 1985, still sounds great, tour again nik, at least think about it!

  • Err, what the hell's that sound on the S30 in the intro?! Eeeuuww.

Great song though. Nik's chord structures always combine with his melodies to form such interesting tracks :-)

  • Anni Ottanta.

  • Son nouveau look... ça fait bizarre, on dirait que c'est pas le même mec que les années 90

  • @kaitracid75 c'est les années 80 pour commencer.

  • It's rare when the live version lives up to, if not surpasses the studio cut... this is one of those times.

  • Sounds the same as ever :D Looks soooo different hehehehe

  • was nik on the norway show?

  • Can't anyone find the original video for this song? It also was one of my favorites!

  • @akrokrchik There are quite a few of the original video from 1984.

  • @01Moodies Yes, yes... very great... it´s ever MY favorite song.. I hope, he and the band coming soon to germany

  • Sounds better than he did 25 years ago! Would love to see him play Dublin's o2.

  • @MadeInIreland1971 Of course no, older is better

  • I just keep coming back to this darn thing. When the horns kick in - nirvana! The best version of the best 80s song ever.

  • Great performance, if you ever get the chance to see Nik performing - TAKE IT!!!! He is a performer definitely worth going to see. I had to travel from Oz to Ireland to do it and he was worth every penny I spent to get there. :) Would do it again but I'm broke now :(

  • @cocolossal69 You're broke for a good reason :)

  • Even better than the album version! Ironic isn't it? Some things gets better with age.

  • @JamaicaGold1 Entierement d'accord. Meilleure que la version "originale". Cet artiste s'est bonifié avec le temps. Plus d'experience aussi et des instruments et un son plus modernes...

  • I'm not a fan, not then, not now. BUT...this is a tip top performance from a very professional musician/composer/performer. Rock on Nik.

  • Absolutely amazing! Playing along to this on my keyboard is great fun too!

  • he's really good live, I saw hime do an acoustic gig a couple of years ago and it was a great night. He did a version of 'i wish those days would come back once more' and it sounded so good.

  • Excellent performance! Brings back some amazing memories of the mid-80s when I was in college. The video for this song was very cool. Great stuff, Nik!

  • this is theeeeeeee best version. incredible for 2008. Fanatsatic. nik's voice is beautifull. Thanks

  • best version ever!

  • I'm listening this every single day. Legends are never gonna die :)

  • Big fan of the original, bigger fan of letting things go if you are no good anymore

  • i heard this song in my car. After hearing the live version - wow.

  • I still remember where I was the first time I heard this song (a Disco at the Rhyl Sun Centre on a Friday night). I bought the 12" LP from Harrods in London and I still have it today. One of my all time favourites and this live version from 2008 is fantastic. I would love to see Nik Kershaw live as I never got the chance in the 80's. When are you coming to Manchester?

  • This thing kicks ass.

  • My broken spirit is frozen to the core.

  • One of the best song of 1980 years.

  • Kind of sad that when he finally appears on Norwegian TV he has to play on of his old songs. His is still a fantastic songwriter and his best stuff was written 20 years after this song. It is a great performance though, an
