every time i try to clean my horse's hoof she would keep moving her legs and i would lean on her to make her pick her hoof up but she then moves or gets to kicking...it is hard to clean her hoofs
ur horse looks kinda short mines 16.2 hands is lilly a pony or something cuz i could never outgrow my horse or is my horse taller than an average horse?
ok im not being rude one so ever but horses can kick to the side i would know because when i was walking a friends horse he kicked my sister right on the butt... lol remember im not being rude at all just sharing that little story! i love your vids they r awsome!
it looks like your fighting with your horse to get it's hooves up and those shoes aren't really all that good for horses watch Rick Gore horsemanship here on You Tube he knows all about horses and he has over 400 videos mostly about horses
Hey Audrie just letting you know its actually better to be behind and close during grooming cause if your to the side they can kick believe it or not when your behind they only nudge you.... bye look at my stretching videos!! and horse videos coming soon!!
What she is so beautiful! but we was tought to use a metal curry comb on a horse, only for cleaning the brushes, but i suppose if the horses hair is really thick its acceptable.
I have the purple version of that hoof pick :) I bet others do but its the first time I've ever seen someone else use one. Btw, Your horses are soo cute and your an amazing rider :)
omg i love you videos and your horse is so pretty do you ever get scared of cleaning their hoves and do you have lessons or did you before and now you don't cause your sooooooooo good? and can you come when ever you want or only on you lessons cause i want to do horse back riding and i want to know <3
Your horse needs to be trained to lift up its hooves. Running your hand downward along the length of its leg signals it to expect that you will soon be lifting its lower leg up to clean its hoof. There should be no need to apply pressure to its body to "unbalance" it. Horses are prey animals, they startle easily and by reflex/instinct. Proper training is required to get the horse to do what you want, and only when you want it. And thanks for this vid clip. John Karavitis
Also whilst brushing your horses mane brush the underside as well and with the rubber curry try to make smaller circles and do more work on the withers and back
I know this is only a demo vid but I thought these TIPS may help
Hey, I have a page on facebook for horse lovers...i think you videos are really cool and most of my fans will too. may i post a thing to have people watch your videos? ITs ok if you dont want me too. :)
Hey i saw how you were having a hard time getting the hooves up. Theres a lil skin almond type thing on the inside of there leg if you just squese that they will pick there hooves up right away!
Do you let your horses roll in mood? It doesn't look like it because those horses look clean as HALE! There is so much mood at the stable I go to so they never look 100% clean, but we tryour best to keep them clean. :D
Lol I hate brushing my horses tail. he has wavy/curly mane and tail and its so hard to get the tangles out. I use a metal shedding blade for the winter hair. It takes HOURS for me to get as much as I can off. I hate when they start shedding lol..Do you clip your horses? I see lilly still has feathers. I'm gonna start showing my Saddlebred in western shows and I just started clipping his ears, feathers, and muzzle. He's still kind of afraid of clippers. Could u make a vid on clipping?
@YzziIzzy99 I'm just going to answer haha. No it does not hurt a horse to use a hoof pick on them. They may feel dis-comfort if you dig and dig roughly at them, but that only if you are really aggressive and are pushing really hard on it. Yes, at first I was worried too because it looked strange to me. But, no, it doesn't hurt them. :) Hope this helps!!
@13horselvr Hey im 13 and im getting my first horse in a few months ive been riding since i was about 9 your videos are awesome but do you have anymore easy tricks like when you flipped off the saddle like acrobatics?
@trugirl111 You might not want to try those things until your experienced with your first horse, flipping out of a saddle is actually kinda hard expecially if your horse isn't calm :P.
Audrey has had these horses for a while and she knows their personality, what they are capeable of etc etc ;P
Maybe get used to your horse before you try any tricks, I'd say wait about 1-2 months :3

How do you train your horse to allow you to pick their feet their natural instinct is to protect their legs

@TheHorselover445 It's probably drill tech or boron. It keeps a horse from sliding all over the place if you're riding on blacktop.
