First of all, let me just say this: This cover is AMAZING. You really make the song your own without compromising the heart and feeling and intent. I LOVED it, and am now going to illegally download it.

To all you bloody critics ... LIGHTEN UP! This was well done. I viewed this video because I wanted to see how someone else did what Nick Drake did, and he did great, both music and vocals. This is one of my favorite Nick Drake tunes, especially the guitar solo. To those viewing this, if you truly appreciate Nick Drake's music, you'll know how complex and difficult it is to play. I think this is a sweet cover. I don't understand why people think that to cover a beautiful song is to desecrate it completely. Anyone that cared that much about Drake would know no adult footage of him exists and you have clearly put cover in the title. No one will ever play this as well as Nick but I too find it fascinating as even a novice player to learn from his style. Anyway, good cover man. Nice voice too.

Tune the E and A to the G string then tune the top E to the D string. You leave the B (2nd) and D (4th) alone. :)

Maybe the important part for me about my style is...I'm also a drummer so keep a good right hand rythm. It helps, as Nick Drake's piano background helped and shaped his playing style on guitar.

The Black Eyed Dog is a metaphor for depression...At the time this song was written and recorded Nick Drake had recently sufferd a nervous breakdown and could not sing and play the guitar at the same time...But anyway the black eyed dog is depression, I guess it symbolises death aswell ' black eyed dog he knew my name '...Spooky stuff...Great cover, tough song to play. Nick was a genius.

He was a genius. The funny thing is, to my brain this song is easier to play than many, many of his other songs. I think his picking technique was so amazing and something I can never grasp. Black eyed dog needs strumming thankfully. ;)

Its funny for me because I find the strumming side of things more difficult than the picking..I can play a few nick songs, like parasite, hazey jane I, Harvest Breed etc, and black eyed dog is the latest one ive started to tackle and I am finding the instrumental part rather tricky...I agree it may not be the hardest drake song but its definately not easy...I think cello song and road are extremely difficult songs!

I can play a fair few but they all seem to be songs with the same technique I use here. Place to be, Pink Moon, Things behind the sun, Chime of the city clock. But his geniunely picked songs are hard, very hard. He had an amazing bass style which stemmed from his piano playing style, in his picking. Truly talented guitarist.

I don't use a plectrum, I use a lot of left hand muting and I just... play it....not very helpful I know, sorry.

If you know the background on Nick Drake this song is very dark and sometimes can be very depressing. The uplifting thing about it is the genius guitar he still managed to play.

Even Pink Moon was hard for him. He recorded each track looking at the wall in the studio and when he delivered the master tape to his record company it spent a week in the 'In tray' of the receptionist because she didn't recognise him because he was so scruffy and lacking confidence.

Quality! (Voice and playing). Why does the B string buzz? mine is the same. It comes from the saddle (?) on the bridge on mine, and a groove has cut into the (bone) saddle. (I compensate for B string buzz with overuse of brackets on youtube postings)

I have a cheap guitar with a dodgy fret that I tried to fix, with a bit of filing on the nut and some action readjustment but, it is still buzzable at fret 1, rendering the B string slightly...buzzy.

You under-used the brackets in your comment in relation to the buzziness of my B string. ;)
