I do not understand how people are not blown away by the fact that the animals at the zoo could not be seen anywhere else for hundreds or even thousands of miles if zoos did not exist . What aggrivates me the most is the fact that the zoos do not have workers telling the children banging on the glass , the people throwing stuff at animals , and just overall aggitating that animals to stop .

@Reptialgirl276 captivated animals don't want to be in the wild. There are numerous examples of animals escaping from there surroundings, to only return to their cages after a short while. Just because it's natural surrounding (i.e. the 'cage') is what the animal is used to and what it prefers. If u'd like to read more about this, I suggest reading 'Life of Pi' by Yann Martel. In one of the first chapters of the book this phenomena is explained very well.

In the wild tigers usually turn man-eaters when they are wounded (either by a hunter wounding the tiger and failing to follow up or a bad encounter with a porcupine) and are not able to hunt their normal prey any longer. Almost all man-eaters stumble across humans as an easy prey accidentally.
The tiger shouldn't have been able to escape in the first place and I do feel very sorry for the family of the boy killed. HOWEVER, the three guys attacked were drunk and high. They taunted the tiger. If they hadn't been taunting Tatiana, she wouldn't have attacked them. The two surviving losers continued to be arrested for DUI and shop-lifting after this. Obviously they didn't learn their lesson. It's a shame the boy died and a beautiful tiger had to be killed because they chose to taunt her.

One of my relatives is a zookeeper and he says that the enclosures are built to keep humans out of the enclosures , if any of the animals were truely set on getting out , they would be able to . Zoos help with conservation, they aren't just locking these animals up for display. And tigers especially are worse off in the wild with poaching for their parts.

I do not understand how people are not blown away by the fact that the animals at the zoo could not be seen anywhere else for hundreds or even thousands of miles if zoos did not exist . What aggrivates me the most is the fact that the zoos do not have workers telling the children banging on the glass , the people throwing stuff at animals , and just overall aggitating that animals to stop .

@Reptialgirl276 captivated animals don't want to be in the wild. There are numerous examples of animals escaping from there surroundings, to only return to their cages after a short while. Just because it's natural surrounding (i.e. the 'cage') is what the animal is used to and what it prefers. If u'd like to read more about this, I suggest reading 'Life of Pi' by Yann Martel. In one of the first chapters of the book this phenomena is explained very well.

@trachdog2 tigers are not proven man-eaters and we are not the natural prey for tigers. In this case the tiger went for the kill and did not eat the victim. In the wild tigers usually turn man-eaters when they are wounded (either by a hunter wounding the tiger and failing to follow up or a bad encounter with a porcupine) and are not able to hunt their normal prey any longer. Almost all man-eaters stumble across humans as an easy prey accidentally.

The tiger shouldn't have been able to escape in the first place and I do feel very sorry for the family of the boy killed. HOWEVER, the three guys attacked were drunk and high. They taunted the tiger. If they hadn't been taunting Tatiana, she wouldn't have attacked them. The two surviving losers continued to be arrested for DUI and shop-lifting after this. Obviously they didn't learn their lesson. It's a shame the boy died and a beautiful tiger had to be killed because they chose to taunt her.

@chedachan777 The animal being in an enclosure was not the problem , the problem was that the man that was killed was shooting the tiger with a slingshot . One of my relatives is a zookeeper and he says that the enclosures are built to keep humans out of the enclosures , if any of the animals were truely set on getting out , they would be able to . Here is my theory , if you put this tiger in the wild , he would be wondering why his damn water is not purified and raspberry flavored .
