The sad thing is in the movie the 4 teenagers get hit by a transport truck in the movie and my boyfriend died in a car accident by a transport truck on sunday Nov 20th 2011 :( and i havent stopped crying dec 10th 1997-Nov 20th 2011 13years old his Brother and him mom and dad are okay his dad wasn't in the car but him his mom his aunt and his twin brother was his mom is in a comma but his aunt and brother are okay RIP Tyler

I think the main problem is that the originals were so much more exiting sounding.

Also, in the original movie, this song played during the scene where they played chicken. Don't know where it's played in the remake but it doesn't fit the original scene at all.

I have mixed feelings about this version. It did sort of tear the intensity out of the song, but it almost sounds like the singer's been knocked around by forces bigger and stronger than she, and is pleading for someone to save her. It works surprisingly well. I'm a fan of both versions, I guess.

i dont mean to be harsh and critical, but this song has little to no pulse. shes a wonderful singer but the pitches and lyrics have been twisted away from their original intensity and fullness to allow her to exaggerate them. personally i was excited when i heard they were redoing this song, but now i wish theyd left it alone. it was better the previous ways its been done. this version sounds overall lazy and loose.

I understand footloose may be a country movie, which it was also never meant to be such, as ive heard from several people the original is still five times better a movie, but this song is NOT a country song. This is supposed to be more powerful and upbeat. not soft and easy going.
