I saw this years ago as part of the VH1 "Montage", but never got to see the whole tune, only about twenty or thirty seconds of it. I wrote to VH1 about ten years later inquiring if that particular program where Hedges was featured guest/host, to no avail.
I am thrilled that you put this up in its entirety!
Today, it is Qing Ming Festival in China, I'm an American anthropologist here, and this festival is all about remembering those who have passed: I remember Michael Hedges.
@rogiermusic I'm just listing the tuning as it's noted by the Stropes website. I guess it makes sense it might be an octave up on the parlor guitar, but I don't have any other verification.
Very few guitarists can use such varied techniques in such a way that they are totally integrated into the arrangement and not a bunch of fluff. And by "very few" I, of course, mean zero.
inspirational!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

as all hedges pieces and type3 posts, truly excellent.

It's amazing to hear how full it sounds even though it's so small. The slap harmonics sound wonderful. Even the artificial harmonics.

tuning is ''"D3 A3 D4 G4 A3 D4'' not ''D2 A2 D3 G3 A3 D4''

@rogiermusic So the 4th and 1st string are in the same octave? They are both D4? I am watching this video and I can tell you that is NOT the case.

Every bit of recorded video of him now seems precious. He's turned into something of a legend. I just wish I could have met, or just seen him play.

Geeez !Where do you find this stuff? This has to be one of the first recordings of Michael! Thanks so much-

I'd imagine it's late 80s, perhaps 1990 - prior to 'Taproot', one assumes.

I know this is insulting, annoying and predictable: but if ANYONE has the tabulature for this song I'd very much appreciate a link.
Thank you.
We now return you to the musical genius in question.
