I just got back from visiting Jakarta. I got lots of looks, being a white man from the U.S., but I never felt threatened in any way. It probably helped that my fiance was from Jakarta though. I had culture shock over just the amount of people and garbage everywhere. I had a great time there, and even a better time in Bali where I got engaged.
